I asked Matt if he would be at any of the Farewell shows in Seattle. He said he will be at one of them. Did not specify which. Dear God let it happen.
This is the third time I have tried to format my thoughts into a cogent review without sounding like a raving lunatic.
I guess I will start with the expurgations (that means parts cut our of you are not bloody aware) and the imaginings of Rafe depicted instead
I will start with Logain's introduction because while that was a well acted scene,it opened the door to the fuckery that followed. For the record, this was the high water mark for me.
Instead of that weak Aes Sedai and Warder interaction post capture in the camp and the poorly filmed battle that followed, we could have had Thom, Matt, and Rand on the Spray and the introduction of Bayle Doman. This could have seasoned up the boys a bit and allowed Thom to explain some world building details through story and song. The Spray could have transported the three to Tar VALon instead of Whitebridge.
Instead of the Aes Sedai funeral rites and Stepin offing himself and the Warder death rites, we could have had the Introduction of Elyas and the proper amount of time devoted to Perrin and Eggs captivity by the Whitecloaks.
Instead of the whole introduction of the Amyrlin, we could have had a proper trek through the book description of the Blight with the Green Man.
Finally, Rand should have had his Tarwin's Gap moment. With the healing of Nynaeve's death, Eggs has effectively been made stronger in the power.
I'm conclusion, I will paraphrase Aviendha's vision and say that all the choices made seemed so logical at the time made, led to the destruction of a stories culture.
So I've been thinking about it.. If you do some creative cutting and resist the urge to inject a lot of your own personal filler, you can JUST squeeze EoTW into 8 episodes..
Episode 1 Flashback to LTT and dragonmount. Rand, Tam, and Bela on the Quarry Road, pulling into EF and hearing rumors of the "high born lady" and her body guard. Maybe a glimpse of the gleeman. Ends with Rand and Tam back at the farm and washing up. You see a trolloc walk past the window.
Episode 2 Winternight, Rand and Tam fight the trollocs and escape with their lives. Fever dreams, back at EF and everything is in ruins. Ends with Moiraine Healing Tam while Rand is asleep.
Episode 3 The party leaves EF, ends up in Baerlon, and runs into us (the whitecloaks), and Min. Ends with Nynaeve showing up. Triumphant braid tugging ensues.
Episode 4 Shadar logoth AND mordeth should deserve an entire episode. Ends with the party getting split up.
Episode 5 Rand and Mat make their way to Caemlyn, Introduction of Bayle Domon. Thom fights the fade in Whitebridge, Rand and Mat are on the run and escape from Gode. Rand channels. Ends with Rand and Matt riding into Caemlyn on the farmer's cart.
Episode 6 Perrin and Egwene meet Eylas. Perrin learns about the wolves, and they both are captured by the whitecloaks. Cut to Rand and Matt. Matt is now delrious. Rand falls off the wall and meets Elayne and is questioned by Elaida. Ends with Perrin and Egwene getting saved by Moiraine, Lan, and Nynaeve.
Episode 7 Everyone meets up in Caemlyn, Introduction of Loial. They travel the Ways. ends with them arriving at the blight, and meeting Agelmar. Lots of ceremony when the borderlanders see Lan. Ends with the Agelmar pleading to send trained warriors, and Moiraine convincing him otherwise. Cut to the blight.
Episode 8 Party sets out, runs into the Green Man. Showdown at the Eye. Ends with Moiraine telling Rand who he is. She unwraps a package, cut to dragon banner.

MARION, Ohio — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is crediting developments in DNA technology for helping investigators identify the victim of an Ohio cold case dating back to more than 30 years.
In July 1989, the body of a man was found in Flat Run Creek in Marion County. Despite its efforts, the Marion County Sheriff’s office was unable to identify the man and the case went cold.
In a renewed effort to solve the case, the sheriff’s office contacted the DNA Doe Project, which uses genetic genealogy to help with the identification process in homicide investigations.
With help from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, authorities identified the victim as John Kraicinsky.
“We have several other cold cases that we will continue to work to obtain justice for victims and closure for families,” Sheriff Matt Bayles said in a release.
According to the sheriff’s office, Kraicinsky was last in contact with his family the month his body was found. Family members told authorities they never reported him missing because they believed Kraicinsky “may have just moved away to start another life.”
Sheriff Bayles plans to hold a briefing at 9 a.m. Tuesday to discuss the findings of the case.

I’ve been meaning to start a spoiler discuss for a while now
Basically it’s clear at present the show is based on the book rather than a line for line remake.
With that in mind what plot points do you think are Essential in that have to be exact, almost line for line representations on screen and it’s omission will be a massive down point and potentially ruin the watching for you
-the fall of the stone
-Rhuidean and the securing of the Aiel alliance
-mat leading The battle outside cairheinen
-the formation of the black tower and it’s main players
-dumai’s wells
-cleansing of the taint
-Egwene’s white tower revolution
-Perrin and the white cloaks
-rand going almost crazy and coming back from the brink
-Matt vs the golem
-the whole last battle
Hopeful but it being missing/changed not a deal breaker
-all the forsaken. I can imagine their ranks being streamlined or their characters amalgamated or replaced by generic dark friends
-the large presence of the seanchan -perrins quest to rescue faile
-perrins long-standing conflict with his wolf side
-some of the battles: we have to expect no every battle is going to be a massive set piece pitched battle so Matt vs the seanchan, the white cloaks vs the seanchan etc will probably be missing or watered down
-padan fains role
Don’t care if missing -bayle domon
-the sea folk
-moraine and thom’s relationship
-lots of darkfriend sub plots

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
