A list of puns related to "Malcolm X College"
Has anyone used this service, what is your opinion? https://www.ccc.edu/colleges/malcolm-x/departments/Pages/Dental-Clinic-Fee-Schedule.aspx For those who are CCC students/staff, do you just show your ID to get the student prices?
I like Malcolm X. He was ridiculously brave and stood up for what was right.
He aired his grievances with the nation of Islam on tv, explicitly saying he knew they would kill him.

He mentions that "the real reason (they want to take me out) is because Elijah Muhammed (the nation of Islam's leader) is the father of 8 children by 6 different teenage girls, 6 different teenage girls that were his private secretaries..."
He stood so strongly in this belief, even after they attempted to burn his home (with his kids) and knowing they were trying to kill him. He continued to speak out.
So Malcolm X believed Islam, when practiced properly, is "the right religion for my people" as it bestows "integrity" and "unity".
How did Malcolm X square his distain for the NOI's immorality with Prophet Muhammed's relationship with a 9 yr old?
...that he'd accidentally put a kiss at the end of a text message
When you really look back at both Martin and Malcolmβs lives, Luther was the one who blended most easily into the current society. (Christian religion, college degree, parents in ministry, middle class) Whereas Malcolm X had seen first hand the racial violence that took the life of his father. The KKK burned his home down as well, so in all honesty I understand why he was so weary of desegregation and said non-violence had failed.
Really the problem I see is that as influential as King was and still is he didnβt (early on at least) experience the same trauma that was a part of the black experience. Therefore I think King was more civil which didnβt make anyone uncomfortable and he was crowned for that. Of course he had reasons to be mad but I really think that Malcolm got twisted into something he wasnβt and scapegoated by the media while King who could relate more to the white people at the time was allowed a much bigger platform.
Iβm considering an apartment around there and I really like the look of it based on Google maps street view, whatβs around, etc. I was wondering if anyone can give me any more insight into things to do/see/eat around there, neighborhood safety, and social environment of the neighborhood (for instance, whether everyone tends to keep to themselves or if itβs encouraged to be chatty with neighbors). For reference, Iβll be a young professional female living alone. Would you recommend this area as a place to live? Thanks!!
