A list of puns related to "Magnetic mineralogy"
Title says it all
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!

2nd year geology student in NE Ohio, and I'm not sure whether I actually enjoy this.
Thus far, I've taken Intro to Env Sci, a seminar on the Great Lakes, Mineralogy, and Environmental Magnetism. I've also taken Calc 1&2, Physics 1&2, Stat 1&2, Chem 1&2, and Bio 1, not in that order, as well as basically all my honors distro stuff (Some of this I got from AP credits in high school, and I was a bio major 1st semester freshman year, in case any of that seems unrelated to geology). I'd like to say I've done pretty well with all of this. Almost all A's with a sprinkling of B+s. I've always been more interested in the math-heavy side of this.
It's not every day, but I often find myself dreading coming to class. Some days I'll find what I'm doing incredibly interesting, and other days, deathly boring. I've always had a passive interest in history/archaeology/anthropology/foreign languages, and some days I feel like dropping geology and even STEM altogether and changing majors to something like that in the humanities. At the same time, that would mean throwing away basically 2 years of (what I consider to be?) pretty broad STEM fundamentals.
I suppose I should also say I've haven't done any geoscience internships at all, and I'm hesitant to even apply to them for summer 22. Sometimes I feel like I barely know anything and that I'd embarrass myself in a real work setting. On the other hand, I hear a lot of talk about networking and building a portfolio, and I feel like internships are where I'd do that.
And honestly... I'm not even sure I know what I want to do with this degree career-wise. I suppose doing internships would help narrow that down. Maybe it's a pipe dream, but I'm really interested in international travel as part of my job (maybe that spawns from my anthro-esque interest). Is there some career within geosciences that allows for that?
Have any of you ever had any similar doubts? Do you ever regret doing geosciences? Is your work personally fulfilling? I have to go to work soon, but I'll be replying later tonight once I get home, if you have any questions.
(If you took the time to read and reply to all of this, I sincerely appreciate you.)
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

YOSHAR
Roshar is Yolen.
The original planet, home of Adonalsium, is hidden in the Physical by crem (much like Akinah)... and known so commonly as Roshar that it is shrouded in the cognitive. Adonalsium was Shattered at the Shattered Plains, and the warcamps were the loci of the vessels who Ascended to become the first Shards. The burst of power from the Shattering created so many features of Roshar, such as the Windblades, as a result of cymatics. Rosharan Highstorms are driven by the spren of this storm - basically its memory - imprinted on the cognition of the very world. Every highstorm is the memory of the shatterstorm. Cusicesh is the spren of everyone on Yolen recognizing the Shattering - the spren of "a million voices crying out in terror," Alderaan-style. The reason the three realms on Roshar bleed over into each other so much is because of the realmatic trauma of the shattering - a kind of permanent perpendicularization.
We know the original Vessels had an agreement that said something like "no two shards can leave for the same planet." I think Ati and Leras got around this by leaving for a void in space and then creating their own planet afterwards. Whereas I think Honor and Cult were like "can't break the rule if we don't leave!"
YOSHARANS
The races of Roshar are mostly the result of interspecies combination caused at a Deific level - either by Adonalsium, a Shard, or a Dawnshard (#unitethem). We've seen part-human, part Siah Aimian (Natanatan, Babatharnam); part human, part Parsh (Horneaters, Herdazians). I wonder if we have seen others.
I expect that the Parsh are a hybrid of humans and dragons - the two original races of Roshar. They are basically humans with dragon-scales. Moreover, they have a limited version of the dragon's ability to shapeshift. Gemhearts are truly the new Dragonsteel.
I would guess that the Siah Aimians are of a race associated with Whimsy. Axies the Collector truly follows a Whim more than any other... and he can change his appearance on a whim as well.
Aimia could well have been a place established as a crossroads of all the "shard-races" from all the Shardworlds - a place for amiable gatherings of all th

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
