In Europe, in the late Middle Ages, how easy or hard was it for the common man to cross borders? (Ducal, County, Kingdom, etc. borders.) What about nobility? What might they have had with them to, if necessary, smooth crossing such borders?

As the title states.

Thanks in advance.

In an effort to reduce the spreading of misinformation I present: A comprehensive breakdown correcting some "common misconceptions" about Overwatch and its devs.

I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, and I'm not trying to say that anyone has done it intentionally, but I really wanted to talk about some of the misinformation that gets spread around the Overwatch community pretty regularly.

There's a handful of topics that whenever they come up people always love to quote something the devs have supposedly said. The only issue is that the devs have never said them. I wanted to take the next few minutes to address some of these and hopefully correct some of the commonly spread falsehoods.

  • Misconception 1. D.Va was a pro StarCraft player and Michael Chu retconned her to being a pro gamer.

Usually quoted as "it's a common misconception" due to Michael using the phrase on twitter.

This misinformation gained traction following this thread, which appears to quote in the title that "D.Va was never a starcraft pro", despite the fact this was never said at any point.

From her first announcement at BlizzCon in 2015, D.Va was always referred to as a 'pro gamer' who played StarCraft, not a 'StarCraft pro'. Arnold Tsang (Lead Character Concept Artist) states

>"So D.Va...is a, is a pro gamer. She's, you know, multiple time World Champion at StarCraft, all different kind of games. Everything that she plays, she's basically a pro.

Michael specifically stated it was a misconception that D.Va was a StarCraft pro before joining MEKA. Not that she wasn't one. Not that she never was one. That she wasn't one specifically before joining MEKA.

He later clarified that D.Va did play StarCraft, but it wasn't her skills in that game that led her to be recruited.

>D.Va is absolutely a world champion professional gamer which was what got her recruited into MEKA in the first place. However her best game wasn't StarCraft (which was what I was attempting to clarify). We imagined that she was most known and specialized in a game with a skillset that was closer mapped to the skills that she (and the other MEKA pilots) utilized while piloting their mechs.

>That said, D.Va has definitely played more than her fair share of StarCraft (as she references in some of her lines in Overwatch) and a slew of other games. Bonus fact: StarCr

List of Common Misconceptions

I made a thread like this before, but I think it bears repeating to try and catch more things I might have missed. If you've never read the Wikipedia List of Common Misconceptions, I recommend giving it a skim.

Note; only the manga, The Last: Naruto the Movie, and Boruto: Naruto the Movie are considered canon. Several of the anime’s filler arcs, and most of the movies, introduce logical inconsistencies to the universe and so are excluded. I don’t care how cool Izumi Uchiha was or was not, she didn’t really exist. The Databooks are somewhat iffy, but are generally consistent with the manga, so can be ruled canon by default unless they contradict the manga.

Common bits of Fanon that are not actually Canon:

  • The Bloodline Purges were never the state policy of Mist and probably didn’t happen at all. Haku’s mother was killed by her frightened civilian husband, not Mist ninja, and there is no indication that this was particularly widespread behaviour.

  • Sasuke was never mean to his team or particularly arrogant. He was somewhat dismissive to Naruto, and generally distant and aloof, but not insulting or otherwise upset about being β€˜held back’ by his teammates. His primary response to Naruto and Sakura is apathy.

  • Team 7 does not have a standard rubric for its membership. There is no β€˜Rookie of the year + Kunoichi of the Year + Deadlast’ template which gets reused over and over. Sasuke was the top scoring graduate, and Naruto was placed with him to balance the team since Naruto scored exceptionally low. Sakura actually scored below Ino, and was probably somewhere roughly in the middle as far as skill went for their class.

  • Sakura is probably not particularly weak at the start of the series; rather Naruto and Sasuke are abnormally strong so she seems lackluster in comparison. Sasuke openly acknowledges her strength when they meet again in Shipuden.

  • Seal Masters are not a thing. Jiraiya is never called a Seal Master, and only uses seals in combat occasionally. While he is an acknowledged expert in the field, he has not earned any sort of title or certification of high level proficiency.

  • There is no indication that Gaara’s seal was not working as intended. While the insanity might seem like an unwanted side effect, it is also possible that it was merely not considered an issue in the original design. Gaara was considered a failure as a Jinchuriki because he couldn’t control the murd

Explanation of the truth of the common misconception about Russia

They still think thst there is the fucking COMMUNISM in Russia, they think that soviet Russia and USSR is the same think, and they literally don't know anything.

In reality :

Communism was the only party in the USSR, who don't exist anymore, and now communism is not very popular in Russia.

USSR is the union of 15 republics (like states in USA, but bigger).

Soviet Russia or RSFSR was just one of the 15 republics of the USSR

It's true that Stalin was a dictator that killed a lot of people, and gulag does exist, but he also did win the WW2. And also it was stalinism, and not pure communism. It's useless to blame communism of all these deaths.

USSR citizens don't always call everyone comrad, it's just occasionally like when you call someone a citizen.

After Stalin, the life in the USSR was pretty good, not worse than the USA. There was less diversity but there was employment for everyone, free medecine etc. That's an example that communism did work.

Putin is actually not the best president but he isn't as bad as Stalin.

Russians actually drink a lot of vodka, but they don't replace water, unlike what American can think lmao. And all the nation isn't drunk.

Russian don't have bears everywhere!

Russia is big, and not all Russia is as cold as you think. And the summer actually exists in a lot of Russia.

Russian isn't the fault of your government problems. Stop blaming them. Actually, it's funny, when you know that in Russian news people also always blame America for all the problems.

Please upvote it. Please.
