A list of puns related to "List of The Legend of Korra episodes"
I personally think everyone should watch season 2 episode 7 and 8 Legend of Korra. (Beginnings 1 and 2) It talks about the first avatar (Avatar Wan) and how he was the first to control all 4 elements and how he saved the world from dark spirits.

A lot of people hate on Legend of Korra, but to be honest I honestly enjoyed legend of korra as much as last airbender '^^
I saw a post in r/TheLastAirbender pitting these teams together. Originally I thought the White Lotus is far and beyond more skilled than the Red Lotus, but then thinking back, 2/5 of the White Lotus were powered up by Sozin's comet. I still think the White Lotus get the nod here without the comet, but I am curious to hear any arguments and possibly have a change of heart myself.
Stipulations
No Sozin's comet
Battle take place at the air temple where Mako & Bolin took on Ming Hua and Ghazan
No prep
Teams
On the White Lotus we have: Iroh, Jeong Jeong, Bumi, Pakku and Piandao
On the Red Lotus we have: Zaheer, Unalaq, Ghazan, Ming Hua and P'Li
Speaking personally, I find Korra an incredible woman. Strong, sensitive, caring, sweet, wise, the kind of person that attracts me in real life (romantically or just personally)
I suppose this is cause we watched the entire series in like 3 days but i just woke up and realized i dreamed of me being part of her group, and i couldnt help but feel attracted to everything about her, specially her personality.
Now im awake and feel sad that it was just a dream.
I CANT BE THE ONLY ONE
But holy shit is this show better than I expected. I Love ATLA, watched it maybe 4 or 5 times. I know Korra retcons some stuff and messes with some shit, but this shows choreography, immediate plot, animation and dialogue are amazing. I'm expecting my view to change a bit once I get into the later seasons and see whatever goofy stuff gives Korra a bad rap, but so far the characters are immediately incredibly likable, and this whole first arc showing Korras weakness (Her hot hotheadedness and inability to chill the hell out) Is exactly like the first arc we got with Aang in ATLA (his fear of his duties and sense of pressure). I feel like right now where I am in the story It's so close to ATLA but with a bit more character diversity right off the bat instead of just the static Gaang. None of my friends watch ATLA so I can't rant about this to anyone, but as a huge ATLA fan Korra is immediately so fun for me - I'm just scared to get to the timeline stuff or avatar state thing everyone talks about. I feel like blowing the lead in this show would be super hard.
TL;DR Holy shit First seasons of LoK Is so good, I've never watched it before because of shit I've heard, but this stuff tasty. Hopefully it doesn't piss me off too bad and I can still enjoy it when whatever terrible thing happens.
Edit: Tenzin is the biggest bro
The Legend of Korra (TLOK) is just as good of a series as The Last Air bender(TLA). For context I've watched both shows since their release. I grew up in the world of Avatar and have adored the series since I was kid and have re watched both series at least 5 times by now. Many people openly complain about TLOK but in my opinion, it was just as good of a series as TLA , nostalgia aside. There are many online essays criticizing TLOK so I thought I'd address one of the more popular ones then give my personal comparison of the series. The post im refering to is here .
Addressing the Arguments
Argument:
How the unique and respectfully-depicted East Asian-inspired cultures of Avatar are replaced in Korra by a far-more generic and westernized 1920's urban America-inspired society (with all the unspoken imperialistic implications that brings),
Reply:
It's pretty evident that the world of Avatar is loosely based on the real world, and that many of the main overarching conflicts are directly drawn from real world examples. With this being said, as an East Asian(Chinese) person, I find that the depiction of republic city is neither offensive or pushing imperialistic implications. The city gives these steam punkish vibes with Asian influence depicted everywhere. It's exactly how I would have imagined a multicultural global city(Such as modern day New York or Toronto) to be in the world of Avatar following a war and in the stage of industrialization. It not only allows the audience to see how far society has progressed since Aang but also allows many fitting archetypes (street gangs, religious preachers) to form as characters.
Argument:
How the show's attempts at depicting nuanced and realistic political philosophies (particularly in the cases of the villains) tend to fall incredibly flat, usually owing to an unwarranted faith on the part of the narrative in liberal centrism uber alles,
Reply:
Well, like I mentioned earlier, many of the overarching conflicts in the Avatar universe are drawn from real world examples. In TLA ,the global state of war, and the fire nations imperialism can be viewed as an allusion to the events of the second World War. So as a follow up, would it not make sense that the main protagonists of TLOK hold this narrative of liberal centrism? In fact I believe the entire concept of the Avatar series adopting political philosophie
... keep reading on reddit β‘The Legend Of Korra was a divisive show for people. The opinions of this show range from loving the show to wishing it was never created. Personally I think what we got from the show was good and I do feel it is a bit overhated by some but I do wish I could enjoy it more than I do. And I will admit there are some problems with the writing of this series. Particularly with seasons 1 and 2.
I would say the main problem I have with this series was that it needed a more overarching story that could transfer from season to season like ATLA and that it felt disjointed. Now I donβt blame the show runners for this because they were told that season 1 was gonna be a one and done thing until Nickelodeon rushed them to make a season 2 which would the final season. Turns out it wasnβt and then told that they would have to make two more seasons before the show ended. So I understand they were in a tight situation and I more blame Nickelodeon for not giving them much creative freedom. That and being a follow up to one of the best cartoons of all time was definitely not gonna do this show any favors. I have the hindsight of 20-20 as well alongside the fact I donβt have to worry about tv sensor guidelines and stuff like that.
Before I begin I just wanna say thereβs a lot of stuff the show did really well. The animation in the show was and still is some of the best Iβve ever seen in a show. The voice acting was mostly good too with a few exceptions. The music for this series was outstanding. Hell Iβll even say that I quite enjoyed the series and still quite like it. I think that when this show is good itβs really good. However when itβs bad itβs really bad.
Now these changes Iβm going to mention will affect the later seasons of TLOK going forward which means some things are gonna be changed. And I actually think seasons 3 and 4 of TLOK are on par or just a little below the quality of ATLA but if I continue this on another post I might have to change up the story quite a bit. That and Iβm only going to talk about how theyβre going to affect this season. Also some of these ideas are from another fixing LOK post on here with some really great ideas so I though Iβd added them alongside with some of my dumber ideas. Sorry if my dialogue sucks in advance. This is my first time doing something like this. Now letβs dive in shall we?
Change 1-Change Korraβs arc. I would have Korra explore around Republic City a little bit more and learn more about the **equal
... keep reading on reddit β‘I think what a lot of people inherently do is try to criticize TLOK based on Avatar's story and it's structure.
Korra will never be as good as Avatar the Last Airbender, but what it succeeded in doing was expanding on the already built block that was the original series.
Trying to compare Korra to Avatar is like trying to compare muffins to a cake, they're each good in their own respect.
Avatar's story worked really well because of the lore behind it. Aang was frozen for over 100 years which incited a major war, with no avatar to stop it we saw the rise of an empire. Whereas Korra didn't have that, the lore behind Korra was everything that was built-in Avatar, firebenders becoming a helpful part of society again, the Earth Kingdom recovering from the amount of loss they suffered, the water tribe coming to terms with their old political views and trying to fix them, and of course the air benders trying to start anew.
Korra is going to follow a vastly different structure, instead of fighting one main villain to help stop a 100-year war, she's going to do exactly what the avatar is inherently supposed to do, which is to halt violence by any means necessary. I can definitely understand why people see Korra as a failure, but in terms of lore, and providing its audience with a sequel to the avatar cycle in general, it succeeds.
Rules: 1- The main seasonal villains needs to be the same as in the show (you can alter their endgame or some aspects of their personalities/characteristics 2- The show must end as similar as possible like the TV show.
So we all know that Netflix is doing a live action adaptation of The Last Airbender. But to me at least, The Legend of Korra seems like the better fit. More familiar time period with clear western influences, older characters so you will probably get better actors, and, I'm going to be honest here, isn't held in as high regard as The Last Airbender, so if it's not that great people won't riot. It would also give the writers a chance to address some of the flaws in the series, *cough!* Dumb love triangle! *cough!*, and give more focus to the interesting themes of inequality.
That's just me, though.
Hey there!
So I'll admit that I haven't seen Korra in years, I plan to watch both series (funnily I watched them out of order, there was no Nick during my childhood) and I'm on the Left-Far Left on most issues, so I do have bias attached.
Recently there was a image post on the Avatar series subreddit that classified Amon as a Communist, Unalaq as a Theocrat, Zaheer as an Anarchist, and Kuvira as a fascist. And other than being incredibly broad and arguably misleading, does the Legend of Korra propose that the way forward is Centrism and to be above Ideology?
I've seen some takes that suggest that. Or at the very least, having 'extreme' ideas will always lead to conflict and 'threaten' the status quo. And yeah, the figures who represent these extreme ideas are portrayed as the antagonists.
In the defense of this approach, I've seen people propose that the show is about Hegelian Dialectics, having two opposing ideas clash to form a consensus.
And I do think the outcomes in LoK shows nuance (i.e. Zaheer's actions leads to the downfall of the monarchy, which is then ruled by a military despot, then transitions to democracy).
At the same time however, I found it a bit problematic in how they portrayed things like the Equalists and nonbenders who I do think have understandable economic, social, and security concerns and the whole thing just magically is resolved by... just removing Amon and putting in a nonbender in the council?
I also found it rather odd how for a show set in a environment that's clearly paralleling the Industrial Revolution, there's a worrying lack of criticism of Capitalism, arguably the driver of industralizing the world, migrating people to cities, exploitation, mass production, and so on. Varrek wasn't portrayed in good light (greedy, self serving, pompous) but he wasn't really an antagonist, he comes off eccentric and likeable, and his arc ends pretty well. Asami's industry apparently is in charge of rebuilding Republic City after Season 1.
It sorta alludes to and reinforces the idea that capitalism isn't really a problem (in fact, aren't nonbenders also at a disadvantage? Why would a corporation hire a nonbender over a bender other than perhaps menial, less well paid jobs. I guess those few lucky, intelligent, and/or wealthy nonbenders have a chance but it does seem lopsided in the big picture).
I know I just went on a ramble even though I came in just simply curious if anyone knew of or had a critique of politic

10/10 would suggest waiting at least couple weeks a week or so to transition between ATLA and TLOK, from my personal experience. It was... jarring and unpleasant to me.
The Last Airbender concluded in 2008 and The Legend of Korra aired in 2012 (4 years later) after all. ^((with new writers)^)
I watched the majority (but not all) of Avatar the Last Airbender as a kid, but only finished it recently as a binge. I thought watching TLOK would be a good idea as a natural continuation. NOPE
The Legend of Korra is not a 'natural' continuation of the ATLA story/universe, or at least it is best not to compare it to ATLA too much as you watch. Unless you are interested in diving into the lore in the comic books, the writers of the animated story sometimes don't provide enough to bridge the two worlds in a satisfactory way. Some things that happened in TLOK just felt 'wrong' to me and probably can't be helped by the comics. Not going to give any examples/spoilers, maybe in the comments.
The difference of writing style, story pacing, and creative vision that comes with having different writers from the OG Avatar was also distracting to me.
TLDR: The Legend of Korra should be viewed independently from Avatar the Last Airbender for the best experience. Which really isn't easy, but is helped by putting time between the two series, maybe 2 weeks.
Please, no spoilers. Thanks!
I just finished ATLA for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had always heard great things about it, and remembered enjoying episodes as a kid when season 1 was airing and always wanted to know how it ended, but never sat down to actually watch the whole thing until now. Glad I did, because it was spectacular.
Iβve seen some people complaining about Korra, and others saying itβs not as good at ATLA, so Iβm wondering if itβs actually worth the watch. I know thereβs no possible way it could be M. Night Shyamalamadingdong bad, but I wondering if Nickelodeon maybe upped the childrenβs show aspects or something like that? Or maybe Iβm just totally wrong.
Again, no spoilers please. Thanks everyone!

Hello.
A week ago I made a post on changes I wouldβve made to season one of the Legend Of Korra and while I was going to just leave it there, I decided I wanted to continue and rewrite season 2 from the changes I made to season 1. I already have ideas that Iβve written down and i think itβs going to be split into two different povs. Thereβs just one big problem. Iβve never done a rewrite of a whole season before. Meaning I have no idea how to structure it. Should I structure it the same way I did my first post or do a general guideline? Maybe a episode summary thing or something like that? My question is how do you structure something like this? And are there any ideas you would recommend to me about what you would like to see in this rewrite?
Theres just something about season 1 of legend of korra that just has that cinematic feel that the later seasons dont seem to have.
The art work, the musical score, the ambiance just feels more movie like
I understand it was supposed to be a one off and the later seasons were rushed last minute extensions so maybe thats the reason.
Because of that season 1 holds a special place in me that makes me want to rewatch over and over.
I watched TLA and LOK back to back and LOK is not as bad as everyone says it is. By no means is it as memorable, or as charming as the last airbender, but it is a good story and is underrated by the fans of avatar. Also i thought I might throw in that IMO season 3 was very reminiscent of the original series, and i like how they built on the lore, and aspects of the avatar universe.
I always had the opinion that although I liked the Legend of Korra a lot, it didn't match The Last Airbender in many aspects of storytelling.
The Last Airbender had great characters and character progression. Zuko turning from a villain to one of the world heroes. Azula being this calculating and feared person, breaking down during Sozin's comet. And obviously Aang, a boy who became a full fledged Avatar at the end. There's just so many characters and the way the series told its story was just amazing.
I rewatched both The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra just recently and I think The Legend of Korra might be on par if not better (in my opinion) than The Last Airbender in terms of characters, their progression, and story. A big shout out to Amon, Tarrlok, Tenzin (the biggest of shoutouts), Zaheer, and honestly, Korra. Very complex and strong characters.
The two series are two separate journeys with different stakes. But The Legend of Korra built upon so much with each season adding to the whole world in general and coming together at the end. What a great series.
