A list of puns related to "List of Friday Night Dinner episodes"
I've gathered up the lowest rated episodes (according to IMDB) but which is the worst?
(I have no idea why the plastic bag and dad's birthday aren't on this list, I think they're way worseπ)
The Fox is a good episode but the best?
In case you haven't found it yet the first four series of Friday Night Dinner are on Prime. Do watch it if you haven't already. As soon as I saw the nun in the wheelchair, like your guests on this episode, I also immediately thought "Horrible Grandma".
I'm glad I found your podcast. I've been enjoying rewatching Midsomer and listening to the episodes.
Previously when watching this episode, I always though Emily was being selfish for keeping Rory late because Lorelai didnβt attend the dinner. Rewatching it yesterday and for some reason, neither Rory nor Lorelai ACTUALLY explain the reasoning as to why she couldnβt attend. They just vaguely mention errands. Had they explained the misunderstanding of move-in dates, the need to get supplies before the next day etc. Iβm sure Emily would have still been pissed but she wouldnβt have kept Rory captive.
Itβs just another example of Lorelai (and in this case Rory too) exaggerating Emily being overbearing.
I just finished watching this episode, and might I say, that this dinner has been the best Friday night dinner so far in the show for these reasons. (Insert a lot of spacing so no spoilers for casual viewers of the reddit... looking at you.)
β’The fact that Lorelai took the reigns and made this all happen showed a lot of maturity on her end being the one to bring everyone together.
β’All those different camera angles showing off how special and dramatic the opening words of the actual dinner portion were. The raw moving of the camera man to show off the tension and argument, made it flow more naturally than the usual jump cuts.
β’Lorelai being happy to see a salad. (Itβs not important, it just made me happy.)
β’The jump cuts to different moments in time where the arguments moved on, expanded, etc.
β’This dinner caught everyone up on what has happened over the last two seasons in a way that makes me happy, proud, and jealous of the writers and directors.
β’Also the emotional rollercoaster that was this dinner. With the laughter, the highs and lows, the dessert break, Emily arguing bout so many things with the girls, to Lorelaiβs ending words, it was just great.
Emily is EXTRA this evening and I sense Lorelei is even more uncomfortable because sheβs watching Rory fall into the elite rich people lifestyle with her new boyfriend. Iβm cringing watching this.
Itβs the only one of this season Iβve really enjoyed so far. Nice!
Also less Jim is more Jim!
Iβve also watched Bad Education but I thought it was a bit bland and a bit of a waste of potential.
I started season 6, loved the caravan episode and dissapointed with the plastic bag and au pair episode. So I didn't watch the last half. And one day bored and I remember I still hadn't finished season 6 of Friday Night Dinner and man. That finale is the best episode of Friday Night Dinner.
To be honest I dont want them to make a season 7, I loved the ending of season 6 so much that I would be worried a season 7 could ruin it.
Martin continuing to get glass into all the food was hilarious. Jackie getting emotional. Jim with Milsons puppies, and of course the females. I loved the reveal near the end, it was truly an emotional and heart warming scene and then the dance at the end to the theme song made me emotional and happy.
But the ending was so perfect. To end on the most iconic line in the show was just perfect. I give this episode a SHIT ON IT out of 10! Did you enjoy the episode?

Seasons ranked: 4 > 3 > 2 > 1 (Back half of S3 is probably the most flawless storytelling of the show, but I think S4 overall was more my jam).

Hope you enjoy Episode 1! Give us a follow on twitter over at @fnsCast if you want to hear more! In episode 1, we compare our lists of cards we wish were modern legal and talk a little about why Force of Will and Baleful Strix shouldn't be on these lists. We also break down the modern and standard metagames a bit and talk about what we'd play going into a big tournament in each format. Next episode expect to see us break down our choices for SCG Regionals, including some sweet spice I've been working on for a few weeks.
