A list of puns related to "Limestone Corner"
I was coming home along Kirkwood at around 7:30 pm and I swear the entire police and firefighter forces were scrambling. We tuned into the police frequency and heard of a gunman on Duncan Rd, but firefighters too? It doesn't make sense to me.
"My na- ... is Cole. I'm a scou- ... -ased by like, a hundr-... -ribals from... Kinship of Ca-... please hel-... Will join..." The radio blurted static a few more times before it repeated another broken call for help.
BraΓ±a held eye contact with Leopard, who uneasily shifted her gaze to Tol. "Did he say a hundred? Like he's being followed by a hundred warriors?" BraΓ±a said, nervously clutching her Bikkhu cape. "And from the Kinship of Cansa, no less." She and these two had been through a lot together -- building not one, not two, but three colonies so far together from scratch over the past 40 years. They'd seen countless battles and endured many near-fatal injuries, but nothing like a hundred soldiers knocking at their doorstep. Tol, exuding fierce strength despite his 84 years, stood stoically, unfazed, a slight curl forming at the edge of his lips.
"There's only 14 of us, 22 if I call in some permits from the Empire," Leopard said, chin in hand, calculating. "Plus the elephants." That got a quick chortle out of Tol. "Twenty-three if we count this... Cole, if he can even fight. No other defenses, really. There's no way-"
"We should accept," Tol interjected.
BraΓ±a's face visibly drained. Leopard's eyes narrowed. She'd seen that lip curl before. "You can't be serious," BraΓ±a said. She lightly touched Leopard's arm. "We've got some of the best fighters and weapons on the planet, but they outnumber us more than five to one!"
"We should accept," Tol repeated, more slowly, this time holding Leopard's eye.
"You seem to have a plan," Leopard said. "Tell us what you're thinking."
"Tell him we will protect him. We are Neo-Navists. We do not turn away those in need," Tol replied, never breaking eye-contact with Leopard. "Sound the alarm and have everyone assemble at the barricades from whichever direction he arrives."
BraΓ±a's stomach lurched into her throat. Stupid old man! His pride would be the end of them. Surely Leopard would not agr-
"I trust you, old friend," Leopard responded. She picked up the radio receiver, now looking at BraΓ±a. "This is Grand Chieftain Leopard of the Purple CoΓ±o. Cole, if you are still out there, you are welcome here."
BraΓ±a scowled, turned on her heel, and left the room to meditate in her bedroom.
Roughly an hour had passed when blue light from the detectors lit up the control room. Cole was arriving from the east, and he was moving quickly. A faint dust cloud grew just a few clicks behind him.
The alarm blared through t

For a while, I've been set on architecture but I'm starting to have doubts if it's worth it for me. Currently, architects, firms, and developers have a love for modern and contemporary architecture, and for the most part that is what is being built. Now if you're an architect that wants to design those types of buildings then this wouldn't be a question but I'm more interested in designing traditional buildings in older styles like Gothic, Art Deco, Italianate, etc. as that's what I love.
Many architects (just from what I have seen) shun new traditional architecture by calling it "fake" or "Disneyland architecture." Being name-called or lambasted isn't what I'm concerned about though, it's being able to find work designing the types of buildings I want. Most firms only do contemporary and most developers want contemporary. This, coupled with the fact that ornamentation and traditional materials like limestone and terra cotta are more expensive and time-consuming to produce in a world where everyone is trying to cut corners and construct quickly, makes it seem like I'm living in a fantasy world by thinking I would be able to work on/design buildings like the Woolworth Building or Chrysler Building, no matter how long I kept my skin in the game.
This along with the fact that architecture school is hell and the pay is dogshit makes me think I should just make architecture a hobby and something that I do in my spare time. What are your opinions on this? Is being a traditional architect viable in this field? If yes, what firms and where is best for this type of work?

Into the New Year with new shapes!
Greetings medievalists and a Happy New Year!
Letβs open 2022 with a feature many of you wanted! Notice anything unusual?
https://preview.redd.it/bqo0i7bzhh981.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=63faafa37242c0c8508a250a229b973ea0df520f
Notice them CORNERS? Notice the roundness? Thatβs right - we are introducing wall and roof variants. We understand that current roof and wall options areβ¦ limited. So, thatβs why weβll incorporate new sets, and changing them will be super easy, barely an inconvenience.
https://preview.redd.it/m6bibww9ih981.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=b7e7792dd2c2b82675e1ede06b208e9022392bd6
By selecting roof/wall, in the bottom right corner, all of the changeable options will appear. Do you want circular pillars, corner walls or even slanted roofs? Go for it!
https://preview.redd.it/7vjge5gfih981.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=9dbe6ad6d2f02dcc0a0b44cccb2997baa4340f58
But beyond changing shapes, roofs will also be able to change materials appearing beneath them. Letβs take a Limestone slate roof - in its current state, itβs accompanied with limestone material which can look awkward if you are using this roof on a clay construction.
https://preview.redd.it/17ajnsxgih981.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=5afd38b290c5b888e664ce340be8603f8a750932
Well, now, with a simple selection, youβll be able to change materials beneath the roof, free of charge and instantly. Itβs fast, itβs convenient and it will lead to some extremely pretty results!

We canβt wait to see your creations with this feature once it goes live with the official update!

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?

I won't be doing that today!
There hasn't been a post all year!
This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.

I was just sitting there doing nothing.

"Beauty, because beauty is in the eye of the bee-holder!"
Without being an expert, however I have travelled a bit, I feel that WA has the worst public sculpture I have seen anywhere in the world.
I have eyes and some of the below things hurt them
The good
The words carved into the wood decking between Kidogo Arthouse and the beach at Bathers Beach Freo. They have a list of supplies like 2 bags of rice, 2 shovels, bag of biscuit, bag of seed, tea, sugar, it gives a sense of place and time.
The flame made of stone in King's Park, I like the fact that it was designed to be carbon neutral unlike an actual flame. It was ahead of its time in that design choice which makes more sense now.
Masons gardens in Nedlands, home to some crafty tool sculptures like stitch unrippers scissors and so on. I had this on the bad list, I flip flop on this one. I like the fact that it celebrates tools that are often used by women.
The circle of red Buddhist monks outside a private house in Cottesloe
The bad
There was a hideous tree or goblin thing outside the train station in CBD, gone now.
The horrendous little people in College Park Claremont, corner of Bay Rd and Princess Rd, so creepy they are not on the Town of Claremont website.
The woman outside the Italian club in Freo, its a Henry Moore sculpture or Henry Moore inspired but vandalised. The concrete cancer is well advanced so we can see the steel reo skeleton in the hand bones. And its not been repaired, just sits there damaged.
That broken, sad sundial arch or whatever it is made of tired limestone colored concrete in Cottesloe, a naturally stunning beach with rock and sand with no need of sculptures.
The dragonfly at Mosman Park
The ugly
The unfunctional piece of a "jetty" in Fishing Boat Harbour with big signs "do not tie up". What are you then. A community project sponsored by local fishing families.
The "immigrant" sculpture on Riverside Drive with a globe of the world and a small family group carrying suitcases.. its so..obvious. This was also a community project, if you design sculpture by a committee this is what you get.
The huge greater than lifesize woman sitting in the childrenβs playground at East Freo. Near Zephyr cafΓ©.
Some green cactus in the city
The amazing
I saw this on Reddit, but a glass globe half filled with water at Geraldton that reflects the sunset is very cool, I worry it may start a fire by focussing the sunβs rays?
The sphere of βorbicular graniteβ at UWA itβs so beautiful
