A list of puns related to "Lecy Goranson"
In the plotline for the show, Becky eloped with Mark after Dan's bike shop went out of business, there was no money left for her college and Mark had to leave the state to get a job. However, in reality, Becky was written off of Roseanne when Lecy went to college and no longer had time for the show. Obviously, I know they eventually brought the character back and had her played by Sarah Chalk, but initially, Becky was written off the show.
I'm wondering then, if she had stayed on, how would her character's arc, as well as the relationship between Becky and Mark have developed? Would Becky have stayed at home and found a way to attend college? I don't think she would have married Mark so soon, but would they have kept dating and eventually wed somewhere in the future like David and Darlene did? Anyone have any thoughts?
I was watching episode 3 of the "Rebooted" Roseanne show last night. That is the episode where Becky finds out that her eggs are not good enough to conceive.
Midway through the episode is a wonderful dialogue between Becky and Darlene. Their chemistry back in the 80's and mid 90's when the original was on and their chemistry now 21+ years later looks as if the 2 actresses never missed a beat. It is just incredible. I can envision those 2 being good friends off the set.
How does it work? Are we allowed to nominate people? Or do they have to nominate themselves? I don't always watch the award shows. Has she won an Emmy yet for playing the Becky character? She was always great on Roseanne, but as The Conners continues, she just gets better and better and I am so there for her storyline. She is interesting and funny and she makes us care about her life. I have also enjoyed her in other shows. I see she has been nominated for a Critics Choice Award, but I guess I'm not satisfied until she gets nominated for everything. Even though award statues should never be the point of art, I'm ready for her to get more awards, be more recognized, and I am rooting for the Becky character to continue finding her way in life and show Landford that it is never too late. Also, I think there is an incredible challenge in incorporating the actress who played her while she was away at college, and she rose to the occasion. Does anyone else enjoy Lecy/Becky? I like her more each week, share your love below if you agree with me, or even if you disagree. After all, this is the internet. It's no fun if we don't argue a little lol!
I noticed on her IMDB page that since the re-boot of Roseanne and the Conner's, Lecy has done 2 movies - one in 2018 called Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with hate and one in 2019 called Buck Run. Does anyone know of these movies?
It appears that since the re-boot and the Conner's, things are looking better for her.
In addition, in a lot of interviews, Lecy has said on a few occasions that "off the set" she and Sara Gilbert are close friends. I have never heard Sara confirm this. Is this friendship off the set accurate?
She literally had little or nothing to do with the cast from 1997 until 2005; then all of a sudden started to re-introduce herself to the cast with the reunion on Larry King, the TV Land Awards show in 2008 and other things.
Roseanne ended in 1997 and Lecy finished college in 1996. My question is why if she finished college in 1996 couldn't she have a done a few episodes for the last season 1996-1997. Also, it appears that from 1996 until 2005 - until the first Roseanne reunion at the bowling alley, Lecy appeared not to want anything to do with the cast. Is that true - or was there at the very least phone and occasional physical seeing of the other cast members?
I have no words. Can somebody just explain what goes through somebody's mind to do that to their hair?
Somebody in the group suggested Lecy's podcast on the Judy Gold podcast. It is almost an hour but very interesting. She also talks about her "affair" with a writer on the show and how Tom Arnold made the situation worse by promoting it so to say.
She talks about how she got the part and why she left the 1st time. Why she left the 2nd time during the 8th season is interesting. The producer's were never totally happy with Sarah Chalke. They offered Lecy a chance to come back and for the 8th season she did. I also have heard Roseanne while unhappy she left the 1st time essentially wanted her back.
Lecy talks about that she went back partly for the money but also as she states to see what the "mood" of the show was like since she was there last. She stated the mood had changed and that Roseanne was still a bit angry at her that she left the 1st time.
She states that she gave the producer's her schedule and for a period of time things, while tense on the set were working out. It seemed as per my interpretation of what she said the Disney Episodes were the "straw that broke the camel's back." They wanted her to go and she couldn't. Based on what she said, it seems that 2 things occurred - ABC fired her so to say and that she was fed up everything- including the tone of the show and left and never looked back. She was in several episodes after the Disney episode but I would think they were filmed before.
That could explain why for a period of time she literally had nothing to do with the cast with the possible exception of Sara Gilbert. Over a period of time, things changed and in 2000, Roseanne i believe had her on her talk show and in 2005 there were 2 reunions that she participated in and another full cast reunion in 2008. In addition, she started around that time to give interviews about the show and appeared with Fishman at Roseanne's roast in 2012 and on a couple of talk shows with certain members of the cast.
Be interesting to see what others have to say. The Disney episodes seemed to jump start her leaving the 2nd and last time.
BTW, in the 9th season, Sarah Chalke was only in 7 episodes.
Hello Out There From TV Land,
I have a long-shot Request for a 2022 YouTube upload: episodes of the hit '80s Disney Channel Original Game Show "Teen Win, Lose or Draw."
Created by Jay Wolpert (who died this week at age 79 after a long fight with Alzheimer's Disease), "Teen Win, Lose or Draw" originally aired on Disney Channel from April 29, 1989 - September 26, 1992, with 65 half-hour Episodes Videotaped entirely in 1989 & 1990, respectively, at The Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney's Hollywood Studios) in Orlando, Florida.
Hosted by Marc Price (fresh from his run as Irwin "Skippy" Handleman on TV's "Family Ties"), "Teen Win, Lose or Draw" had 2 teams each composed of a Teen Celebrity Guest (e.g. Leonardo DiCaprio and Lecy Goranson) and 2 Teen Contestants per show where the Object was to get their teams to say Words, Names & Phrases by Drawing Pictures, with the Team with the most Points at Game's End winning a Prize Package e.g. a trip to Oasis Water Villa Resort in Palm Springs, California while the Runners-Up won a Cheaper Prize Package e.g. Nintendo NES Video Games from Acclaim.
Each game began with a Clue Puzzle Round where the teams had 60 Seconds to Guess a Series of Clues leading up to a Famous Subject e.g. Kirk Cameron; this was followed by a Phrase Round, where the teams had 60 or less Seconds to Communicate a Phrase from a Particular Category e.g. Disney Movies, with a sample Phrase being "The Sword in the Stone."
As with the original, grown-up "Win, Lose or Draw" (of which this series served as a Spin-Off), each game ended with a 90-Second Speed Round to Determine the Prize Package winners; on occasion, depending on time, several episodes featured an Audience Round where a Teen Studio Audience Member drew a Subject e.g. a Pinball in 60 Seconds or less to get $25 Disney Dollars (later amended to the home game "Win, Lose or Draw Junior," advertised as the official "Teen Win, Lose or Draw" Home Game).
**After Jay Wolpert left the show after the first season of 39 half-hour episodes, he was succeeded as Showrunner by the duo of Scott Stone & David Stanley (producing the show for Disney as Stone Stanley Productions) for the 2nd season of 26 half-hour episodes Videotaped in 1990 at The Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida; simultaneously, a trio of Disney Channel Mouseketeers--Brandy Brown, Chase Hampton, and the recently-Deceased Tiffini Hale (who died very young on Christmas Day at ag
... keep reading on reddit β‘I know Reneeβs makeover gets a lot of criticism but I love the way her hair was styled during her last panel. I would have loved to have it seen like that the whole cycle as opposed to the weird edgy mullet thing. I am always blown away by how beautiful she looks during that last elimination. Her outfit plus her blue eyes and short hair. I think medium length hair suits her perfectly. Not short but not so long that it drags her down either. Sometimes she gave me young Lecy Goranson vibes, but the model version of her.
John Goodman was 36 and Roseanne Barr was a few months shy of that age when the show began.
Now Lecy Goranson is 47, Sara Gilbert is 46 and even little bitty DJ, Michael Fishman will be turning 40 next month.
It's hard to describe the feeling I get thinking about it. Sure, it makes me feel old, but it also gives me a slightly sad, wistful feeling realizing how much time has passed. Of course I've always known that getting older is inevitable as long as we remain alive, but I just never expected the time to pass this quickly.
I dunno, I guess I've been a little down lately, missing the past, and people that have passed away, regretting missed opportunities and watching the original show with all of them so young just gives me these pangs of longing and nostalgia.
I have mentioned this before but it is worth repeating. On Friday, on COZI, season 8 began. it marked the "return" of Lecy Goranson. The second she appears, she raises the level of acting for everyone in the cast. Simply amazing.
I also saw the Bar Mitzvah - episode 4 of season 8. Probably my favorite of the original Roseanne. You see one of the few times the genuine love between Darlene and Becky. Even Becky comments on that in that episode.
New things - I read somewhere that originally Lecy told Roseanne that she could do about 6 or 7 episodes per year and still go to school. As per the article Roseanne said "all or nothing".
I think that was agreed, seeing Lecy for 6 or so episodes a year would have been SO much better than seeing Sarah Chalke at all.
I also believe that Roseanne realized her mistake because Sara Gilbert was allowed to plan her episodes around her college schedule.
EDIT: I had attached an image of Avasarala's phone contact list but it didn't show up for some reason, sorry.
All the names on this list are major characters in popular TV series that were played by more than 1 actor/actress.
Darren Stevens from Bewitched was played by Dick York and Dick Sargent. The Mountain was played by Conan Stevens, Ian White and HafΓΎΓ³r JΓΊlΓus BjΓΆrnsson. Becky Connor from Rosanne was played by Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke. Vivianne Banks from the Fresh Prince was played by Janet Hubert and Daphne Maxwell Reid. After last night's - 4/21/21 episode, I would bet any mount of money that the Conner's are going to have a 4th season. That was 1 very powerful episode and great acting by both John Goodman and lecy Goranson.
Just wondering here - what do you think the cast thought of Sarah Chalke? It would be interesting to see what a lot of members in the group would have to say about this.
Were they "turned off" by her apparent lack of acting and what appears to be very little screen chemistry?
Did they like her as a person, etc?
In at least my opinion, a very interesting episode in Season 8 - "The Bar Mitzvah." It was on COSI TV last evening. I am not referring to Dan and Roseanne crashing the Bar Mitzvah - I am talking about the dialogue at the restaurant between Darlene and Becky.
In one of the few moments in the original series, you see Darlene really caring for Becky and giving her some sisterly advice that was sincere instead of the usual sarcasm. Rarely did that happen.
You also saw Becky really vacillating in her feelings about Mark. I have seen this episode several times before but this is the first time that I focused on the scene between Darlene and Becky. BTW, Sarah Chalke could NEVER have done this scene. The chemistry 33+ years ago and now between Sara Gilbert and Lecy Goranson is fantastic. I think out of everyone on the show, Sara and Lecy have the best chemistry of anyone. They are just that good!
I kind of wish that Becky pursued these feelings of vacillation about Mark and maybe her life would have been different.
If anyone gets a chance, watch this episode in Season 8 and focus on the scenes with the 2 sisters.
Am interested in comments anyone has.
I was very shocked to say the least that Molly died after just being in 1 episode. When I first read she was coming back, I thought she would be recurring character on the show. Talk about the unexpected.
I was also in shock over Becky's fall from grace so to say. I hope that Lecy Goranson will be in the remaining episodes this season and not "away" at rehab.
I have a good instinctive feeling that the Conner's will be back for a 4th season.
But once again- WOW about the episodes tonight.
Any thoughts?
So, on the Roseanne subreddit, someone shared a post from the TV Ratings Guide that stated The Conners might have trouble getting renewed for a 4th season, due to ratings decline. Iβm still on the original Roseanne show (almost done with season 7), so I may or may not get to The Conners. Do you personally feel (assuming you saw every episode so far) the show is likely to improve and get a 4th season? There 9 episodes left, assuming ABC doesnβt cut them short.
Personally, I thought I really liked Lecy Goransonβs portrayal of Becky, and Becky herself, from the few clips Iβve seen, so I kinda hope it continues and improves.
I have this instinctive feeling that with Lecy Goranson being nominated for a Best Supporting Actress award, this will keep the Conners on for at least 1 more season. Any thoughts?
I know that's when Lecy Goranson returns as Becky (though I know that also has Sarah Chalke for 4 episodes), and I don't know if it's just me not noticing, but does it seem to anybody else that Darlene hardly has any arguments or fights with the fake Becky? Like, I can't imagine any of their many fighting scenes working with Sarah Chalke lol
