A list of puns related to "Keloid"
When you see a bump near your piercing, your first instinct is probably to panic which makes complete sense. But I have seen a shocking amount of people on this subreddit think that a tiny bump (which is obviously from irritation) is a keloid or will somehow grow into one. The answer is almost always NO, it is not a keloid. It is not one and you will probably never get one. They are pretty rare and typically only occur in people with dark skin. Do people not do their research before getting a piercing? Please someone correct me if Iβm wrong on this.
Hi all - I have a couple of small keloid scars on my chest (1cm x 1cm) that Iβve been getting cortisone injections for ($100 out of pocket each time!) but I tried using Mederma to see if I could get more permanent results as the injections only make them better temporarily. After 6 months of the Mederma, nothing seems to have changed. Has anyone had any luck using other products?
Otherwise, are keloid injections available through the public health system?
I have a pretty big keloid on my cartilage piercing (itβs definitely not an irritation bump) and have some questions about the process of reducing or removing a true keloid.
I will need to see a doctor to get it removed. Has anyone been able to keep their jewelry/piercing in during/after the removal? How long did the entire process last/how many sessions did you need? Were you able to keep the piercing or did you have to retire it forever?
Iβm super worried and donβt want to lose my piercing. any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Happy new years everyone and I hope you guys are keeping safe and warm.
Iβve had keloids in my jawline for many years and I am looking for a reputable dermatologist/ plastic surgeon to get treated in the GTA. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I really need solid recommendations of doctors that perform these type of procedures. My ear keloid is getting out of hand.
I have a scar on my arm that is over a month old (I've been clean for 1 month & 12 days). It's a keloid scar, so it's pretty fat and red. It's straight across and about an inch/ an inch and a half long. It's right between my bicep and my tricep facing outward, so it's in a kinda awkward place to make up some kind of excuse.
I was given a short-sleeved pj shirt for christmas today, so I was pretty uncomfortable and anxious as to what my mom was going to say if she say it. Thankfully she didn't see it/ didn't say anything, so I didn't have to come up with an excuse. It's winter time so I've been just been covering it up, but I'd really like to have one if someone asked me. Any suggestions would be great
Hello!
I'm looking for recommendations for Dermatologist/Plastic surgeon in New Westminster area.
My family doctor/GP said my keloid won't be covered my MSP since it's cosmetic issue.
She told me there's a good one in New Westminster. She didn't tell me the hospital name, and also wasn't sure about the doctor's name, but she mentioned it's either Dr. Andrea or Andrew.
I searched up on google, and found Dr. Andrew Tung at Fraser Health New Westminster, but not Andrea. But I'm not 100% sure if he's the one my family doctor mentioned.
Does/Has anyone know/heard one of the two doctors? and How much does a removal surgery or treatment normally cost without the MSP coverage?
Also, Please let me know if you guys know any other good recommendations :) (doesn't have to be New Westminster)
Thank you for your help, ladies and gentlemen! :D

I got my ear lobe pierced two years ago and eventually a keloid formed behind one of the piercings and it got infected. I could no longer keep the earring in as it was too painful so I took it out a few months ago. I am getting my keloid removed soon, and I really want to pierce it again as I like to have an earring on my lobe. Ik itβs not recommended as many keloids come back, but has anyone done this successfully without the keloid reoccurring?
I looked it up and it said i should wash it with water and soap, but is there anything else?
Keloids are semi-permanent. Here is what I mean, my mom is especially prone to keloids. They are raised scars due to the slightest injury, a scratch, a black head/pimple. She has several on her shoulders and back. Some people have great success at getting them removed, hence semi-permanent. Not my mom. If she attempted to have them removed, they just get larger in size.
Piercing/Irritation bumps go away when they are left alone and the piercing isn't bumped or knocked around and if they have the proper jewelry.
Please stop calling them keloids as that is spreading misinformation.
