A list of puns related to "Nodular"
I certainly have cured myself of classical scabies for about a month now. No burrows, bumps, or itching.
But, during my classical scabies infection I did develop nodular scabies which still persist today about a month later.
I donβt have any new nodules since I began treatment for the classical scabies. All my current nodules came from before treatment.
Are these nodules contagious?
I'm a 31F who's acne was FINALLY starting to die down. I had to have thyroid removal in July due to large growths on both sides of my thyroid (non cancerous) and since my surgery I have acne again. It's not as severe as when I was a teenager, I don't often get blackheads, but I get 5+ large, tender, nodular style zits at a time. Mostly on my jaw line and neck, but sometimes on my forehead, cheeks and back. I've tried exfoliating, proactive made my skin way too dry, I've tried various otc treatments and cleansers. I make sure to use oil free moisturizer. They're driving me crazy. They don't pop like normal zits. They're just swollen and red and I have to treat them until they dry up. Any reccomendations?
Age: 35
Sex: F
Height: 168 cm
Weight: 58 kg
Race: Caucasian (Scandinavian)
Duration of complaint: Incidental finding on a CT scan in September 2021.
Location: Sweden
Any existing relevant medical issues: Complex, congenital heart defect. Have had five open heart surgeries and an unknown number of CT's and regular chest X-rays + radioactive contrast mediums. I guess around 60 if I count 3 per surgery + 1 every year of my life + extra scans in total. I've also had many head, neck, abdomen and spine CT's due to neurological issues after surgeries, as well as head/neck trauma & having scoliosis. I'd guess the total number is around 90.
Current medications: Metoprolol 50 mg/day, Escitalopram 20 mg/day and Elvanse (Vyvanse) 40 to 60 mg/day.
In September, I had a CT angiogram for another reason (suspected TIA due to sudden numbness in right side of face). They didn't find any evidence of stenotic vessels, though they did find a 7 mm nodular parenchymal lesion in my right lung; dorsal to the central parts of the right main bronchus in the right lower lobe. I got a follow up CT scan booked in March which I understand is standard protocol for any new lesions <8 mm for people over 35. According to that protocol, I'm considered very low risk for cancer because I'm "young" and a non-smoker. However - they don't take into account that I've had an unknown number of CT's and X-rays, starting 35 years ago (head, neck, chest, abdomen, back, hip et.c.)
They never discussed the finding in person with me, just sent me a letter where my GP basically said that "it's just protocol, you don't smoke and you're only 35 so don't worry about it".
However, a study was published a few years ago that concluded that people with congenital heart defects (and especially those with conotruncal defects, like I have) do have an increased risk for developing various forms of cancer before the age of 41.
So. I've now waited 4.5 months for my follow up scan, and I have 1.5 months left until I get it. If the lesion had been 1 mm larger, I would have got a fast track cancer screening. Do you think I should have got the fast track screening due to my history of radiation exposure? If it turns out to have increased in mass/be malignant, is there a risk that it will be too late to do something because I've waited so long?
I had a classical scabies infection in early December and was prescribed permethrin 5% and ivermectin (15mg) to treat it. It was on my hands, feet, groin, and wrists. No infection on scalp, face, neck. Treatment was successful and I am free of classical scabies as of mid December.
I did have a complication with the scabies, as I developed nodular scabies in my groin area during the initial infection. Nodular scabies can persist for several months after treating the classical scabies. My Dermatologist said I do not have an active infection/contagious, as i have no burrows, itch, or bumps, just the 3-5mm nodules which developed as a hypersensitivity reaction to the mites and the dead mites/feces in my skin from my initial classical scabies infection. There is no immediate cure for nodular scabies other than applying Tacrolimus and Triamcinolone creams to speed up the process of the disappearance of the nodules.
My FUEΒ HTΒ is in a couple weeks.
Will the nodular scabies/previous ivermectin usage interfere with a successfulΒ HTΒ result?
Thanks
I (17f) received my official diagnoses yesterday of what type of Hodgkin's I have and a PET scan is scheduled in two weeks to learn about staging but I believe I'm either 1a or 2a. My particular type of Hodgkins is pretty rare and even weirder because of my age and that i'm a girl. I read that it's about 1/million per year with 3/4 being male and the age range commonly being 30 to 50. Super weird. I probably won't have to have any chemo because this is very non-aggressive and slow growth which I'm super happy for! My doctor spoke of only radiation for my treatment. Has anyone else had this particular type and can tell me more?
I just finished triple therapy, I can't tell if it improved my symptoms ( my only symptom was pain around belly button and sometimes pain in center of stomach between belly button and ribs).
After the therapy I still get intermittent pain around my belly button.
Is belly button pain common in h pylori?
I grew up with very clear skin in high school and thought Iβd gotten lucky in the skin genetics department but it seems I had only delayed the inevitable. Now that Iβm 20 (F) itβs been several months since Iβve felt comfortable in my own skin, not just looks but literally comfortable and pain free. I have dry/ combo skin and most topicals leave me with dry patches and no progress since just about every pimple comes in the form of deep, hard lumps. Mostly along my hair line, chin/jaw, and occasionally smack in the middle of my forehead.
I have tried patches, ice, had antibiotics for other infections that made no difference, and wash my face on a set routine (cetaphil dry/ normal wash and cetaphil oil free moisturizer). I drink loads of water as well and simply cannot find a cause nor solution to these deep, irritated, and painful bumps. Any advice would be helpful as there seems to be limited help for deep pimples online. This is not a severe case however I would still do anything to have my clear skin back.
Thursday night, I discovered a black firm elevated bump/mole in my belly button. It does not look right, and upon googling, it really looks like nodular melanoma. Who knows how deep down it has spread, I am so scared. I left a message for my dermatologist Thursday evening, and called again Friday morning. They couldnβt get me an appointment until Monday afternoon and itβs with a new doctor since my doctor apparently retired. I tried calling other dermatologists but they had no appointments for weeks. So now I wait until Monday. Everything Iβm reading about nodular melanoma says it spreads quickly and be fatal within weeks to months.
What happens if they confirm it is nodular melanoma but I canβt get an appointment with an oncologist or have surgery to remove it for weeks? I donβt want to die because Iβm waiting and canβt get an appointment. I feel like itβs spreading and Iβm helpless. Anyone have any tips for getting prompt melanoma treatment surgeries/blood work/oncology etc?
Hey I (17 m) was just told that I have cancer yesterday morning after a biopsy from a removed swollen lymph node... This news comes two weeks after losing my dad to covid, and honestly this just sucks and I have a screening this week or next week to learn the severity. But I just felt like sharing because honestly I just don't know how to feel about it, I mean the stats are in my favor but idk. I'm kind of scared.
I suffer with cystic acne with my main problem being large painful nodules that become inflamed under the skin.
I've always though that cold compress or icing is the way to bring the inflammation down. Iβve just read and seen people suggesting a hot compress to bring the swelling down.
Is anyone able to explain this to me and how it works as I've always thought that it's the cold that reduces swelling.
Is a hot compress more effective?
A month ago i had my first nodular / cystic acne break out at 32. I hoped it would sus itself out but of course no.
It got worse to the point where on my face and jaw/neck I can count over 25. They're not particularly unsightly, it just looks like my face and neck is very bloated. Will they still scar if they're mild?
I don't have health care from work right now because of a covid related lapse in hours. So I have to figure it out myself.
I've started drinking at least a gallon of water, reducing dairy, sugar, carbs and alcohol. My sleep isn't good because of stress of moving & a break up so I'm thinking of taking melatonin and Benadryl to max my sleep. And quitting smoking.
Is this a good plan? I wash my face once a day in the shower and use Astringents after. Also a friend recommended using clay masks.
Hi all, pretty much as the title says, I think I may be insulin resistant and this is making my weightloss much more difficult for me, even on keto. If people could direct me to helpful resources (YouTube videos would be great), I would really appreciate it.
26F, 5ft 9 inches.
I started at 204.5lbs, down to 174.5lbs, but stopped keto after plateauing for forever it seemed like. I regained water weight up to 180lbs, but after restarting keto this week, I'm back down to 175lbs.
I want to get down to 147lbs though - where I should be for my height and gender. But feel like I'm fighting a losing battle with my body. The very nodular type fatty tissue I have in my arms is getting me down a lot too, and I want this gone but know that if it is lipoedema I might have to settle for liposuction down the line.
My (32F) case is a little unusual but Iβm just curious to see if anyone else has dealt with benign liver lesions. About six years ago I found out the hard way that I have portal hypertension by [throwing up a bunch of my own blood]. Naturally they suspected I had cirrhosis. However every time I would have some kind of test, whether it was ultrasound, CT, MRI, etc, these masses would show up and the doctors would show great concern. However when they would go to confirm it they would basically say never mind, it was nothing. This has been going on for about six years. This latest time I had a major bout of ascites, had an MRI and was told that I ALMOST DEFINITELY have liver cancer and for sure cirrhosis. Naturally this scared my entire family and did not make for a fun weekend. Doctor also refused to do any follow up testing and I was referred to the tumor board. Tumor board said cancer was unlikely. We ended up switching hospital systems. They too thought it was likely I had cirrhosis but not necessarily cancer so they ordered a biopsy on both the liver itself and one of the lesions. Doctor said the results were βinterestingβ: no cirrhosis or fibrosis, and no cancer either. The lesions they found were focal nodular hyperplasia, which are benign and are typically asymptomatic. They donβt think the lesions are the cause of the portal hypertension, which they are calling noncirrhotic. But they have to check to make sure a couple of the lesions, which appear to be growing, arenβt a different type of benign lesion that apparently carries a cancer risk. So thatβs fun.
Basically Iβm wondering, anyone else have experiences with liver lesions/tumors/nodules, benign or otherwise? Itβs a little weird knowing my liver is basically full of benign tumors but is otherwise pretty functional, portal hypertension notwithstanding. Thanks.
In treatment process, is nodule's getting brighter and darker a sign for improvement?
Ive had this for awhile now. Due to covid I stop getting tests. It feels bigger lately and it hurts a bit. Im very worried I need a thyroidectomy. I have very bad doctors here in Minnesota. My voice getting damaged will destroy me. I know it will. Is there any people out there that use there voice for a living that had a thyroidectomy. Radio host, voice actor, Telemarketer.
I got scabies around December 2020 and it took me until around March 2021 for me to diagnose myself as the doctors were no help over the phone. I honestly thought to myself if this kept going on I wouldnβt be able to carry on. The rash was so unbearable sometimes that it would cripple me and I would have to sit in bed and just hope the pain/itching would go away. After using permethrin cream and derbac I finally got rid of my scabies and can go about my daily life without being in so much discomfort. The only issue now if I believe I have nodular scabies. I am currently seeing a dermatologist who has prescribed me with antibiotics and some anti fungal cream as he was unsure what it was that I have, even after me stating I have had scabies. These have both done nothing. I am due to see him in 2 weeks and I will put forward that I have nodular scabies. I have the nodules on my penis, scrotum, backside and only a few on my stomach. I have also managed to speak to the doctor to see if I can get prescribed tacrolimus, Which I am due to pick up tomorrow. What I would like to know is what have you guys done to remove these nodules as they show no sign of disappearing or if they do, they come back in a few weeks time. I just want my life back
Hi! I recently underwent ultrasound which discovered 3 TiRads-3 nodules on my thyroid. It also noted my tissue was heterogenous and highly vascular. Two nodules are in my left lobe (1.5cm on the mid pole and 1.3cm in the lower lobe) but the largest (>3.5cm) is right on my isthmus pressing into my trachea. FNA was done only on the isthmus nodule and came back benign but did not biopsy the other two despite meeting criteria (my endo was pissed they didnβt but said odds are that they are also benign). The isthmus module is causing obstructive symptoms (feel like a lump is in my throat, choking/gagging sensations, harder to breath laying down). All my lab work was normal, including negative for thyroid peroxide antibodies. My endocrinologist referred me to a surgeon due to the obstructive symptoms and he mentioned I had a choice of either just having my isthmus removed or having my left lobe and the isthmus removed. He said if I kept the lobe, I would need frequent monitoring for a decade due to the moderate risk lesions and have a slightly increased risk of cancer due to the diagnosis of nontoxic multi-nodular goiter. He said if I have the lobe removed, Iβm at high risk of hypothyroidism. My uncle whose a doctor recommended the lobe and the isthmus removed. Iβm curious if folks have been in this boat before and if so, what course of action you underwent? Any questions I should ask my surgeon? Thank you!!
I had a brown mole on my upper left thigh slowly fade away and then transform into a disgusting bloody growth. My doctor thought it was a pyogenic granuloma and removed it for me.
It was sent away for biopsy and came back as an extremely ulcerated nodular melanoma that was 3.55mm Breslow, Clark level IV.
It was removed with clear margins but the doc wanted me to go and have a wide area incision and take a few lymph nodes out at the same time. Three were removed and one came back positive for micro metastasis so I was classed at a stage 3c.
After having a healthy looking CT scan and an MRI, I started MEK/TAF last month and have never felt better to be honest, I keep waiting for the side effects to kick in but so far I have been lucky.
I have regular ECGs, MUGA scans, bloodwork etc and so far everything looks OK.
In case anyone is interested, here are a few photos of the nodular melanoma, the first set of stitches, and then an after photo of the huge scar after they dug down to scrape some more tissue out.

Iβll try and keep this post updated, no news is good news as they say.
For all you melahomies out there, stay safe and keep positive.
