Meeting Agenda

Hey, It's snowing! Did you guys know? Outside there is this white stuff falling from the sky. Crazy. It's probably because I bought some Pray for Pow Winter Stout from 10 Barrel. It tastes good, get you some. I saw my neighbor shoveling the sidewalk in front of my house earlier today. How the fuck do I respond to this excessive kindness? I can't bake them things because they don't eat gluten. My life is hard.

Work Session

The work session tonight is beginning as a private executive session to "conduct deliberations with persons designated to negotiate real property transactions and  to consult with attorney regarding legal rights and duties of a public body with regard to current litigation or litigation likely to be filed". Sounds spicy. The public session is slated to begin around 5:15.

Right of Way Policy

Council is going over the current homeless encampment right of way removal policy since they're talking about changing it. The current policy was sent earlier this year. Cities are required by state law to have a "policy recognizing the social nature of homelessness". When removing campsites from public property, the city has to do it in accordance with the policy. Bend generally doesn't prohibit camping in rights of way, but it is against city code to construct structures that obstruct a right of way without a permit. Camps need to be removed when there are safety concerns, high environmental impact, or an increase in safety related calls to the area. The city doesn't have the funds or inclination to remove all camps.

Staff currently need council approval for large established camps. There needs to be a 2 week notice to providers, and a 72 hour notice to campers. Camps can be removed faster than 72 hours in an emergency. There are different kinds of notices.

Staff want to know if council still wants them to come back to Council every time they want to remove a large established campsite, and if they have any general feedback.

Russell is here showing before and after examples of previous camp / garbage cleanups. There are a lot of places around town that homeless people are using as garbage dumps. They want to do cleanups to maintain these sites regularly to deal with the trash. These clean

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
