A list of puns related to "Jón Gnarr"
Anarchist, atheist and a clown (according to a comment on a blog site).
I have been mayor for 910 days and 50 minutes.
I have tweeted my verification (@Jon_Gnarr).
My proof is here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=627469083977266&set=a.246178985439613.59303.244993732224805&type=1 Update: I am now leaving the session, thank you all for your questions. See you around! :)
I am writing about Jón Gnarr and his political career, and I'd love to hear your thoughts as citizens of Iceland and/or Reykjavik. I've always thought him a fantastic leader, but I'd like to hear the insider's perspective. How in touch is he with the people of Iceland? Do you feel he is sincere? What are your personal thoughts/experiences of Jón and his political party?
So Reddit, Russell Brand is on his way to Iceland next week and we are trying to get him to sit down with Jón Gnarr for a project we call An Open Invitation to Politics.
The post crash political landscape is faced with more pressure on change than before. Issues like distribution of wealth, large deficits of government and public debt, environment and sustainability have started to become recognized as problems with growing concerns. Many agree on change, but most are uncertain what has to be changed or how and lack the encouragement to mobilize.
Alternative approaches are often offered from non-politicians and new comers, but most of the time they are greeted by the mainstream media with condescension and portrayed as being naïve and “idealistic”. This situation approach inhibits a normal exchange of ideas among equals to move the discussion along as it plays on dividing people into two groups, pro and anti establishment.
The first step is to promote and lead together alternate approaches with the aim of contributing to the discussion in order to work towards solutions. “An open invitation to politics” is a step towards a healthy discussion and have two similar minded people discuss and share their ideas and experiences in an independent media platform distributed through the internet and social media.
Jón Gnarr became the mayor of Reykjavík City, when the post crash environment and voters welcomed change. His approach towards politics has been a worldwide inspiration and shows the potential of change.
Russell Brand is a comedian and an television presenter and global celebrity. Recently the attention has been on him and his views on politics. Russell promotes change to the current system through non-traditional methods and encourages sharing of new ideas for new solutions.
Please give us your thougts, questions and topics for them to discuss and help us make this happen !
