A list of puns related to "Judah Friedlander"
iβm still in season 1 so its entirely possible thereβs something that explains it in later episodes, but it just seems odd to me that Judah Friedlander is included in the intro but not people like Keith Powell (Toofer) and Lonny Ross (Josh). No hate to Judah ofc, Frank is a great character, but it just always seemed like an odd choice to me
I don't know... I just think he's kind of funny. He seems like the kind of guy that Bobby would have good chemistry with.
Catching up on recent episodes, what's the story with the show's love for Judah?
Whenever Judah's on, Ron's laughter seems forced to me, and out of character.
Am I missing something here?
WARNING SHORT STORY AHEAD: In the last year I watched all the netflix stand up specials that I thought I would like, which is..a lot..about 30 or so. I was just looking for my next one. One day at work I had a talk with a friend about what we think are the best Netflix Stand Up Specials and he mentioned Judah Friedlander. I Remembered that black and white image with a bearded guy that you can hardly see his face. But I liked the title..a whole special about America and global politics.
My opinion is that Judah Friedlander special "America is the Greatest Country in the United States" was a so unique format wise..I never seen any special like that.
This famous comedian goes around new york city, to a random bar and perform for a couple of nights...it was truely amazing. The whole show was reversed, Judah got a request from someone in the crowd and then, he just answered. Always with an answer that serves his plot of how he would be the best president with a twisted nonsensicle reasoning. It was great! And he ranwith it for the all show letting the audience dictate the subjects. I'm just saying, this was masterfully fun new and exciting.
I thanked my friend the next day :)
Not to diss the guy, but isn't in every episode and his character seems to be written in such a way that he's largely forced into plots at some stages. Was he one of the writers that was self inserting or something? Was there meant to be something done that just got dropped to the wayside?

Anyone else notice the similarity between 'America Is The Greatest Country In The United States' and Al Murray's Pub Landlord bit?

Edit: For the record, enjoyed them both.
Just watched this special on Netflix boy was it fucking funny. A master at work, beautiful blend of crowd work, brilliant joke writing and POV. favorite joke "I'm a drug war reenactor".
I poked around, didn't see anyone talking about this.
I really enjoyed it.
I liked the way it was filmed 'guerilla style'. Bit nitty gritty. Black and white. People walking in front of the camera.
His demeanor is aloof and absurdly sarcastic. It's almost all crowd work, which I usually despise but the way he goes about it absolutely works with the material. I found it very entertaining and enjoyed it significantly more than recent specials from some of the bigger names.
Nov 26 & 27 at Coalition Theater. I was able to catch him when he came through last year. It was really great getting to see him in a small venue. Tix and more info available here.
So I was watching 30 Rock and my mom walked by, saw Frank and said "Hey, I went to NYU with him" Then she explained how he was in some of her AV and film classes.

Adam welcomes David Wild back to the podcast, who brought his RockβnβRoll Hall of Fame ballot with him. Adam then talks about Lynetteβs visit to New York and having to take care of the kids while she is gone. He also rants about the luggage that the kids need to haul to school every day, then changes gears to talk about a new inspirational figure who may change the world. Later, David goes through his RockβNβRoll Hall of Fame ballot and everyone argues over their top 5 votes. Before the break, Adam takes fan phone calls about whether or not heβs officially in the βrich white guy clubβ.
Judah Friedlander is in studio next, and Adam chats with him about his incredible drawing skills, as seen in his new book, βIf The Raindrops Unitedβ. The guys also talk about Tracy Morganβs recovery, and how it feels having friends in the comedy industry. As the show wraps up, Adam talks about his old feud with Jim Breuer.
