Really enjoying this book. It's a unique take on Jesus' life and the translation by Giovanni Pontiero is excellent. Extra points for adding depth to the world by bringing to the fore the plight of women living during that time, something sorely missing in the Bible.
I'm on the beginning few pages where Mary is pregnant with Jesus and her and Joseph are on their way to Bethlehem. On reaching there Joseph puts her under the shade of a fig tree because she has started having pre-contraction pains. After a while he takes her out of there "to save Mary from the deadly shade of the fig tree which was slowly killing her, an unforgivable mistake for which they must share the blame, for fig trees abound in this land and they ought to have known better."
Does anyone know why or how the shadow of the fig tree was dangerous to Mary? The only biblical significance that I could find on my own was that Jesus once cursed a fig tree for not bearing fruits, but at this point he hasn't been born yet.
In August my wife and I got our little son. He's an absolute miracle that develops ridicilously fast and has the strength of an ox, but sadly one of his kidneys has developed a mutation that has given him a disposition to get urinary tract infection.
My wife and I both got him while still finishing up our studies, her in medicine, me as a teacher. We decided she took a break from the studies, as she really needed it mentally, and since my classes were mostly online.
That means we are both around a lot, but holy shit is it just ridicilous how disproportionate the reaction to this has been. Doctors, nurses you name it never hesitates to clap in their hands how "involved" I am as a father. The amazement I was met with because I knew the temperature of my own son at a check-up was just completely ridicilous.
My wife is here doing at least 60% of the work, since I still need time to study, and she's doing an amazing job at it. But no, let's all marvel at the father who's participating in basic parent duty. I do my best to remind her, that I think she's doing a terrific job, but I really don't blame her for feeling somewhat shitty about this.

Have any of you experience anything like this?
It’s a strange feeling but i feel the word of Jesus and faith decrease everyday with the way the world has been heading and all of the horrible things that have been going on. But this has caused me to get closer to God and to pray more then i usually do and to believe more and more. Because people are questioning him and his actions even more then usual now in this world. How have you all been thinking about this?
So I think there were SOME updates done to this but it is still just INSANE what you have to do to get maps sorted.. INSANE.
Like the Convert button now actually shows a loading page when it sorts. After it ends, NOTHING CHANGES lol. Then I need to manually take out the maps, sell them to a vendor, then realize NONE OF THEM can fit my tabs anymore so I need to go BACK to the vendor and one by fing one put them back into the sell tab and sell.. this is SOOO MUCH SINGLE CLICKING IM GOING INSANE.
This is just cluttering up league after league after league.. I cant do it anymore.. I have 4000 maps from last league minimum... That is 4000 clicks into my inventory, 4000 into SELL TAB, 4000 into MAP TAB, and some then need to go back into sell tab to sell ones I dont have room for.
Just make a system that when I click it will add ALL maps into my main map tab and everything that it cannot add let me just DELETE the entire remove only tab forever with the maps in it.
A SINGLE click to automaticly concert, move maps that can be moved and then give a popup window telling me that no more maps can be added do I want to delete the folder. I could hit cancel and go over all tabs if I want to see if wanna salvage some elder, shaper maps etc.. although these could also be another clause I could tick some boxes what type of maps to prioritize to move over.. but essentially when I manually look over all tabs I can then delete the tab with one click.
