IPhone 12 Pro Puns

I've been swapping between the iPhone 12 Pro and Pixel 5. As I have been spending more time on the P5, I have grown accustomed to it, it's customizability, physical form factor, and learning to be comfortable with the Android interface.

Pros

° thin form factor. This goes a long way. It feels almost invisible when in my pocket

° long battery life. I mean this phone sips power. I like the added customizability of switching off features, disabling core apps, and drilled down ability to lower power consumption in general by switching off certain features

° excellent portrait photos and night shots. The fact that I can take portrait shots of objects is underrated. Can't do that on an iPhone. Overall the photos look better than the iPhone.

° niche features like 'use hold for me' is a must, and Google assistant is more useful than siri

° more robust notification handling and drilled down customizability of it. This used to be a con, but Google has improved upon it. previously notifications used to be too in your face

° excellent widgets and it's customizability

Cons

° screen not as bright as 12 Pro, and auto brightness does not work as well. When outdoors I notice it will not be as bright as it should be

° video recording looks better on 12 Pro

° ecosystem of accessories and other devices such as apple watch is better integrated / more choices. If I buy an iPhone I know there will be tons of choices

° auto-rotate is still mediocre on Pixel phones it seems. I always have to fuss with it when using it laying in bed for instance. yes I can disable auto rotate but prefer it to 'just work'

° imessage as an app is better for me than android message. In fact imessage is the only app that prevents me from staying on Android permanently

° some popular android apps can be buggy

In the end I'll be using the P5 more and more. The biggest pros being the relatively compact form factor, and added customization features relative to apple.

I just wish the accessories market was more mature for pixel phones.

Does anyone have this for cooling the phone ? My phone is complete shit and overheats. I tried this on one game and it works but wondering if I can flip it so it’s actually on the part of my phone that gets the hottest ?

i have to restart my phone before my 4G comes back, when i go to somewhere that has no service then go to somewhere that has good service it will still show no service unless i restart. My friend says this is normal for a new iphone. Thoughts?

And they let me bring in my own phone to hook up to their service but they won’t do the same for the watch that has cellular(which I bought mainly cause stainless steel) if I were to switch to say Verizon I know they would hook up my phone but would they my watch too? And aside from the service would it be worth it to have the watch connected ?

Hey guys, I noticed there is a slight stutter when I swipe up from the bottom of the screen from an app to go to Home Screen on my iPhone 12 pro max. I am on iOS 14.4.2 right now. Is it the problem with iphone 12 pro max or is it just a bug ios 14 at the moment? Have you guys been facing this issue?

Hi! I've been looking at D4D for quite some time now waiting for the best offer of iPhone 12 Pro Max 256 GB (preferred - Silver/Gold).

The lowest price as of now is QR 4,599 in Kenz Mini Mart. However, they only have the Blue Color and Ali Bin Ali Warranty? Is the warranty any good? Is it better to go for "Apple authorized reseller" for QR 4,750?

Any tips in general in buying iPhone or tech products?

Update to my post the other day: My Sprint no longer works on my phone, my account page no longer shows my devices on sprint.com, I cannot get to the Activate page (error says “We’re sorry, but there’s a problem.), and I can’t get to the services page for my device either (“We’ve hit a speed bump”).

Someone please help!

And yes, my phone is still working fine. I can still see the usage on the My Sprint usage page.

Hey Reddit, I have an iPhone 12 Pro in white. This issue started today, I purchased the phone in late January of this year 2021. It is no longer reading charger cables. I have the many different cables from apple and it won’t pick up. It doesn’t even say “accessory not supported”. Just nothing. The only way this phone charges now is via my wireless charger. It is updated to the latest software and I did hard reset and “reset all setting”.

Any recommendations to try at home? I have cleaned out any lint with a toothpick. It received no water damage.

I just want to exhaust home options before going to Verizon to hopefully exchange it out for a replacement model.

iPhone 6:

1. pick a number from Contacts
2. call the number (sounds busy, with [X] or [Recall] - it’s regular)
3. wait 10 sec
4. pick a number from Contacts (same as previous)
5. call the number (sounds busy, with [X] or [Recall])

This shortcut does a perfect job on iPhone 6 (12.5.1) but aborts at step 2) on iPhone 12pro (14.4)

Like many of you, I signed up for priority when it came to preorders. I woke up late and submitted my order and received an email that said the phone was on back order (no surprise there) and that it would ship at the end of the month.

Well, just a couple hours ago I received another email that my phone was about to ship 🤯 they even provided me with the tracking number and the label has already been created. Still don’t know the delivery date but my question is: should I expect to receive my phone on or before the 13th? Gotta admit I was surprised to get that shipping email.
