I fall headlong into the desperation every time.

Other moments like this for you?
I have a serious problem where I canβt get past my insecurities, and I can never finish a song. When I write with my band I can write my parts no problem, but I really want to do my own stuff on the side as well. But I can never get past the first few stages of writing.. Iβve been in bands for a few years, and just started trying to do my own stuff in the last year. I listen to, in my eyes, the greatest musicians that have ever lived (Sithu Aye, Plini, Periphery, mostly Prog instrumental guitarists) , and I canβt get past the feeling of βif itβs not as good as their music, it sucksβ. All of their music is insanely well written, lots of layers, lots of complex harmonies. But I KNOW that theyβre the best, so of course my music isnβt gonna be on that level. But I want it to be perfect SO BAD that I give up before I even get started. I have somewhere around 120 snippets of songs Iβve written, saved on my hard drive. Some of them are fully structured out, some are half done, and some are just a riff. But I canβt ever get past that.. WHAT DO I DO!? Iβve read all the advice articles I find. Iβve watched videos of the same people I look up to talking about how to stay motivated. Iβve even talked to my therapist about it. But nothing changes. I wonβt give up. But I canβt help but feel deflated. Iβve been working in music for over 13 years and itβs starting to feel like Iβm running in circles.
The full line was "It's causing you doubt and doubt makes you vulnerable." This was said in the sparring scene just over three minutes into the film. After Captain Marvel frees herself from the Supreme Intelligence and she learns the full extent of her power/being held back, "Just a Girl" by No Doubt plays.
It's just a cool detail in the film (intentional or not). A lot of people criticize that song choice, but I think that the dual meaning improves it.
Just what it says on the tin!
We're convinced one of his songs SOMEWHERE opens with/includes a sample of Just A Girl's intro, but I haven't got a clue what song!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well, no rockers come to my country, so I've only been able to go to ONE concert my whole life (The band, "LIVE" came and it was pretty damn cool). The Killers also came, but I didn't know any of their songs, so didn't go to their concert.
Gwen is coming to the Dominican Republic and I'm a big fan of No Doubt.
Does she play No Doubt songs during her concerts? Abouthow many No Doubt songs compared to her singles stuff?
If she does indeed play enough No Doubt songs (at least a few), I'd definitely go to her concert. If it is mostly stuff from her singles era or stuff to promote some new album with new stuff...probably not.
Here is where the sound starts.
I remember being in a roller skating rink in the 90s and a song was playing that had this sound. I think there might have been a few, but I canβt put a finger on it. The opening guitar of Just A Girl also sounds like the song I am trying to remember.
Edit: Thank you so much for all the suggestions! Iβve been busy all day and havenβt got a chance to look at them all. Iβll take a look when I get a break.
I remember the chorus saying something like Im just a girl yadayada and something of the floor I remember the word floor, it had a slightly different rythm than Just a girl

It's not even close. But since all of these songs predate Spotify anyways, there should be no bias towards newer or older songs. They're all "retro", I guess.
So my question is, what movie or show (or Youtube video, commercial etc...) has used it in the recent past that made it so popular, in comparison to other songs that were probably bigger hits when they were new?
Welcome back to the Freestyle Friday song discussion thread! This week's song is No Doubt featuring Carlos Ferragamo and samples RJD2's "Hand Me Down".
What are your thoughts on the song? Post them below and be sure to listen to No Doubt again here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K1UcaULHKo
Basically the title. Currently in an airport, will find a way to vocaroo it later.
Help?
Edit - SOLVED; Time to Pretend by MGMT
It was played in a more latin/bossa nova sound. Sung by a woman with a very soft voice and softer instrumentals than the original song. I heard it in Spain in a restaurant and have been looking for it ever since!

Lana performed two new songs called "I Must Be Stupid For Being So Happy" and "Hey Baby Blue" at The Ally Coalition on Dec. 5, 2018.
I happened to overhear this country song coming from my mom's office this afternoon, she likes to listen to a classic country station that plays mostly 80s and 90s country and it sounded like it was from the 80s. All I caught were the lyrics "(missing lyrics)...get killed/If...(missing lyrics) then a shotgun will/Ain't no doubt..." There was prominent fiddle and the harmonies sort of reminded me of Exile, but not quite.
Have at it sleuths!
Ok, this is a hard one to describe. I know for sure the song is from no later than June 2007, but can be from way before that.
The lyrics at some point (IIRC the beginning and then somewhere in the middle) had some sort of dialogue in which one voice (I think male) said something and then a super deep (like "typical" metal singers gutural style) voice just answered "No". The "No" was pronounced like in Spanish, not English. By this I mean it was short and the vowel "o" Is a single sound, nor the more englishlike "nou". Hope I'm being clear. I think the first voice was asking for marihuana or something. I think it was in Spanish.
I remember the very beginning of the song had this weird sounds o can only describe as somewhat funny/cheerful. They sounded as if made with a synthesizer.
Now, for some reason, my brain keeps relating it to the band BrujerΓa due to the classmate that showed me the song back then also talked about BrujerΓa BUT, at least the beginning, didn't sound like the songs I've checked by them so far.
Thanks for your time and help.
