A list of puns related to "Hard disk drive"
Strictly speaking of hard drives with spinning platters: how did they increase in storage capacity over time? For instance, my first PC had 20 Gigabytes of storage, which was good at the time. Now, hard drives of the same physical size can have multiple terabytes.
Hi everyone ! π
I am facing the issue that my external hard drive , a 5TB external HDD from Western Digital isn't showing up in my finder anymore.
I tried first aid but unfortunately without success. The drive does not mount anymore.
Now I am having a scan on the hard drive with disk drill ( by cleverfiles ) and I can see literally everything that is on the hard drive.
The only two things I am still struggling with, is the fact that so many people (on this platform) recommended not to buy it ( the premium version ) because it appears to be 'garbage'.
And I dont know why ?! ... I dont know what a recovery software can do wrong ?! π
Either it does the job or it does not. Am I wrong ?! π
Do you maybe have any other ideas or solution ? Maybe even a cheaper one ?
I would be glad if you could help π€ π
Hi, I'm looking to replace my hard disk drive (the one under the usb ports, not the one that can be put in the caddy instead of the DVD drive). I'm looking it up online, and it looks like most people are able to just install typical 2.5"/7mm SATA SSDs. I've also looked in the maintenance manual, but can't find anything about compatibility risks. Can you guys clear me on whether there are any compatibility risks, and things I should avoid buying? I'm super unfamiliar with computer hardware and any restrictions they come with.
Thanks
I'm just going through my new-to-me, untested CBM 9090. Here's all I know (below). In the event that I have to replace the drive itself, is it as easy as finding another WD MFM drive of similar size, or is it going to have to be a TM603S or TM602S?
Thanks!
Dave
TANDONΒ TM603S (TM602S)
Tandon became WD, so itβs WD MFM drive
D9090; 153 Cylinders Γ 6 Heads Γ 32 Sectors Γ 256 Bytes/sector equals 7.52 MB

I heard it improves load times but I litterly cannot find a answer on how to do it and all I get in my searches are how to mod and install free games to my PS3, FFS...
I'm adding a new hard drive as several of the current disks have high disk usage and I wondered if unRAID would "spread the load" automatically. If not, is there a way to do it manually?
I removed my hard disk(hdd) from my laptop and transferred my data to desktop PC and then put back hdd in laptop and formatted and installed windows 10.
Then I again removed the hdd from laptop and transferred the data back into my hdd and put it back in my laptop but now my F drive(where I transferred my data) is showing space used but there are no files when I open F drive.
What should I do? How to recover this data? Please help.
P.S.: 1.: I used cut+paste so there is no data in my desktop PC. 2.: Show hidden files and folder did not worked.
What is a good disk space analyzer, I want to clean my hard drives
