A list of puns related to "Greater and lesser magic"
Do you guys think they will be White Quality or Green Quality on launch?
None of the books outright specify if a deity is a greater or lesser deity. And also, how the hell are Bahamut and Tiamat lesser deities? It's Bahamut and Tiamat. BAHAMUT AND TIAMAT
I mostly just do compassion rituals for myself, which is what I would consider to be Greater magic. (changing my own perspective in order to alter my own reality for the better) However, I find a lot of the things I do in response to a ritual seem to fall into the "Lesser magic" category, ie. excercising regularly, acting more confident (especially around others), eating right, etc. I find by doing these things, it's easier to influence others, and therefore, practice Lesser magic. I'm wondering if anybody has any similar experiences. I know theres not really a "right" way to practice Satanism, but I can't help but think, "am I doing this thing right?" π
I read a book series many years ago that I want to re-read, but I simply cannot remember the name, and my google-fu only comes up with witch books about sigil magic.
Here's what I remember:
There is an old kingdom that has practitioners who can use lesser sigils (like to start a small fire or see better), but need greater sigils (like becoming invisible).
A royal family is attacked when travelling on a boat and most of them are killed, but I believe a boy and girl survive from the family.
There is a magician who has some of these greater sigils, and a male member of the royal family finds him and takes some of the greater sigils to fight back and reclaim their homeland.
Does anyone here happen to know the name of the series?
... is still trying to find a place over there:
The place where people can come and talk about reddit fights and other dramatic happenings from other subreddits. https://www.reddit.com/r/SubredditDrama/
So, don't stress about it all, my optimistic Witchers! See you on Netflix.
For everyone, enjoy the holidays, wherever you celebrate, if you celebrate them. Stay safe.
I can only use online resources to read books and texts and such, the internet is making it kind of hard to really distinguish a difference between the Lesser and Greater Keys of Solomon and how many "books" (or "parts") are in each. Does anyone have insight on this? Thanks!
As the title says, i'm writing (er, more accurately still worldbuilding, i haven't actually begun to write anything yet) what will hopefully-maybe-im-really-bad-at-finishing-projects be a little comic about an immortal, magic tyrian purple trader from Byblos, named Tanith (after the goddess Tanit). Although i wanna touch mostly on her travels across the Indian Ocean and the east, i do want to use the opportunity of a Phoenician main character to portray the, well, phoenician world.
I'd appreciate it a lot for you guys to weigh in! Are there any cities or general places with a lot of Phoenician influence that you think deserves more attention that they currently get? Or any interesting myths or stories that i could maybe reference? maybe even something like an interesting detail about phoenician transmediterranean trade. Anything you find interesting and underrepresented, i'd love to hear it!
And if you're by any chance curious about my weird idea of immortal Phoenician wizards, feel free to ask anything. I'm also uploading Tanith's character model sheet here if you wanna see how she looks like.

a. Charges - So, for a crime like robbery, which contains the lesser-included offense of larceny, is it correct that a defendant who robs one victim can be charged with both robbery AND larceny, or can they only be charged with either robbery OR larceny (because of merger)?
b. And for Conviction - could that defendant be convicted only of robbery OR larceny of that one victim?
b. Same question as to Conviction for FMβcan defendant only be convicted of FM or the lesser-included? or can they be convicted of all 3?
