So today was my first hell week class and I was so excited to start off my first hell week, I ended up starting on the floor because all the treads were taken but that was fine by me since I saw the early intel and I knew my heart rate would still go up. The class started and even though I felt myself out of breath my heart rate monitor stayed in the gray zone for the majority of the floor block, like I mean for 20 straight minutes it just said 30%. Now I know I’m not crazy and I know I was definitely at least in the green zone but I couldn’t help getting discouraged and irritated that I wouldn’t be able to see my accurate splat points because of this. I approached my coach about it and he told me to go to the front desk which I did, and the workers just brushed it off and told me I’m on the floor so it’s normal for me to be in gray. After adjusting it and turning it off and on in between the transition to the treads I finally got it to work. I felt that for half the workout I was annoyed by this especially because I was so excited and curious to see how I would do during hell week. Now I know the monitor isn’t everything but it’s something that encourages me, any tips to avoid this happening again?
