Glycine Watch Puns

I'm interested in a Glycine Combat Sub on a NATO band for a few reasons: the looks, the Swiss action, the dive capability, how thin it is, the reasonable price, etc. Currently, I'm a soldier deployed to a Middle Eastern county, and I'm worried about two things mostly: the sand/grit, and the recoil of small arms. How valid are these concerns? Should I just wait till the deployment is over? Dirt and recoil will be a part of my life for several more years after this deployment.

So after returning my Glycine Airman for having a misaligned GMT hand, I received the replacement from Jomashop unbelievably quickly. Like I ordered it yesterday at 4:00 PM and it was waiting for me when I arrived at the office this morning.

But......this one has a couple clearly visible scratches on the dial (circled in red):

Am I being too picky? I’d feel bad sending it back again, honestly, but I don’t think a new watch should have that. I went through this issue with a Steinhart watch about 7 years ago and they weren't able to get me one that didn't have a marked-up dial (I ended up just returning the watch for a refund) so I'm getting flashbacks to that and I'm starting to question whether it's me that's being too picky, or if somehow I'm having bad luck.

I like watches for their style mostly but don't understand the specific reasons why certain watches cost more. I know some of it is because of the specific movement inside. Here is the link below to the watch I want to purchase.

So I have had my eye on Glycine for a bit because they make 24 hour purist watches. I just noticed yesterday that the price for them seems to have significantly dropped. I just bought a new Airman 44 GL0057 for $374 from a well known online site that sells watches (not sure if I can mention the site). It's been a while since I checked but I remembered these costing well over $1k. Did I miss something or did I get a great deal?

Hi, I just purchased this watch from Aashford a couple of days ago. I really liked the watch and everything but I noticed yesterday that the watch dials aren't glowing in the dark anymore. I just started to get into watches so I don't know everything about the technical specifications about certain watches and how they work mechanically. Do the dials have to re-charge in sunlight or something? I am a noob so don't roast me too bad lol

I read on the website I could maintain my watch every 3-5 years. Would the 5 year mark do? Also how much does it cost to maintain a Glycine vintage combat 6?
