I'm working for a small death care startup, and we want to host an architectural competition for landscape architecture students to design an outdoor memorial space, which we will later build irl. The idea is that the winning student design team would be paid to implement the project.
I didn't study architecutre and don't know how these competitions work, but I am supposed to be launching this competition myself. Do you guys have any suggestions for how I should begin this process? Should I start by approaching universities or arch. magazines, or is there a better route? Things I should do before approaching anyone? Just looking for general advice. Thanks.
To add some context, I'm working a personal project called The Saturn Samurai, it mostly takes place on Saturn's moon Titan. The genres I'm thinking of it being are historical/science fiction, think Edo Period Japan meets The Fifth Element. The city it's self is very reminiscent of an Edo Period city, but it's imbued science fiction elements. How do I blend these two together without it seeming forced? Thank you in advance!
It seems as though every bit of "scifi" terrain out there is grungy, rusted, and broken. I want clean, flat, and bright! I'm not yet confident enough to design my own stuff, but maybe that's my next step if there isn't another answer out there.
I'm planning on building a digital model of a city that was rebuilt in the 70s using alien tech after a nuclear war. Since this is so specific, I'm having a hard time figuring out what the city would look like architecturally.
As the title said I am looking for some new city builders to get into. I am aware of surviving mars, aven colony and anno series but thatβs about it. Feel free to recommend some city builders/colony sims even if they donβt fit neatly into what I said in the title, I enjoyed frostpunk quite a lot, I am open to all suggestions.
