A list of puns related to "French Uruguayans"
English translations would be nice. Thank you.
Real Madrid chews gum, raises its eyebrow, and lifts the trophy
In a match which started tepidly and finished furiously, Real Madrid claimed its twelfth Supercup title. Athletic Club team was hopeful to lift the cup again twelve months later, but was unable to do what is currently needed to unsettle Carlo Ancelottiโs team.
As the news pre-match developed through the weekend, those watching enjoyed a sweet moment between managers Carlo Ancelotti and Marcelino Garcia Toral. The manager from Asturias shared with Ancelotti a photo of a 1987 match in which, for a little under ten minutes, both shared the pitch in a UEFA Cup (now Europa League) match in Gijon.
Sporting Gijon measured up against none other than AC Milan, and whatโs more, bested the Italian side, 1-0. 16,000 Sporting fans watched as its team put one over van Basten, Tassotti, Gullit and company. The second leg was sealed with a 3-0 win by AC Milan. Ultimately, the Asturianos could not hold Arrigo Sacchiโs side.
On Sundayโs match to determine the winner between Blancos and Leones, the same expected result followed. The team favorite to win did so, and in a moment worthy of mention โespecially these daysโ both Marcelino and Ancelotti hugged and smiled at each other at the end of it, recognizing the oppositionโs effort.
The match itself was not one to necessarily keep in your shortlist of matches of the season. Athletic Club set up with its usual 4-4-2, attempting to pressure up the field and not allowing Real Madrid to build from the back. When Real managed to do so, Marcelino kept two tight lines, ready to retrieve the ball and feed Iรฑaki Williams for the quick counter.
Los Blancos showed the quality they have honed through the season to absorb that pressure, including Courtois as they passed through the first line and enjoyed the resulting space after that. In the few times Athletic armed a counter, Alaba particularly showed too strong and sharp for the older of the Williams brothers.
Through the first half, Athletic kept Real Madrid tamed, De Marcos and Berenguer more preoccupied in holding Vinicius than projecting up the pitch, and as a result, pushing Real to move on the right side. Rodrygo had more freedom than Vini last night, and Ancelottiโs team initially suffered through it, as the right winger is not as dangerous and positively chaotic as Vinicius.
The crowd did not mind watching a slow first half. A sold-out King Fahd Stadium hosted 30,000 fans as they cheered โunanimousl

The Latin Monetary Union (โLMU") was a monetary union in Europe established in 1865 based on coinage standards originating with Napoleon I. Officially, it included France, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Spain, Venezuela, and others. Many other countries (Russia, Finland, Poland, Serbia, etc) matched the standard and minted coins in the same denomination. It was the first 'euro' -- you can find posters identifying the coins that were official members. The LMU fell apart with the onset of WWI, but you can find several coins with the same size in the interwar period (Poland, Yugoslavia, etc) and beyond. I posted a full list of LMU gold coins here.

So I just managed to win the World Cup 2046 with Belgium in my "build a nation save" that ive been playing since the release of the full game. Im the manager of Olympic Club Chaleroi in Belgium and thought it would be fun to show you guys some of the leagues and nations and how things have been unraveling on my save. Ill post screenshots on league winners and some other information down below.
Good job by Serbia to make it to the finale, but they had no chance at all against us. I have to say that we were super lucky getting there, because we were losing against the Czech Republic in the second round and we got a red card. Despite this we managed to score a goal that would take us to extra time, then won the game on a counter. Mexico were also better than us, but we scored one goal and kept on defending well. The only game we actually dominated in was the finale against Serbia, but kudos for them to make it all the way there. This was my first trophy with a nation after failing miserably with England!

We are currently the 12th richest world in the club, but we are not really trying to be. We invest all our transfer profits on young ones, to become the best talent factory in the world (which we succeded). Interesting to see Modena, Elche, and Paderborn amongst the richest clubs in the world.

from the same edit: also, I changed "Filipino/Pinoy" on this list to "Filipino" because having the colloquial adjective on the list for no reason made no sense, the other colloquial adjectives are there to make the entry either less awkward or less ambiguous
Different edit: fixed "Romanian" (it originally just said "Romania")
Anglo-Argentines as in, Argentinians who have English/British ancestry, but speak Argentine Spanish as their first language. According to censuses there are about 100,000 and some have Argentinian first names but English last names.
In Panama the youth do this very often in Spanish. Here are some examples:
I know that Uruguayans do this too because "El Bananero" constantly use inverted words such as "Japi" XD. My wife, on the other hand, is from Zulia, and one of her cousins couldn't understand the purpose of inverting syllables. So at least people in Zulia (and Venezuela) don't do that. But what about Brazilians? Do you guys do this too in Portuguese?
In Quebec, where I live, they also do this with French and it's called: Verlan.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
They were cooked in Greece.
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies ๐
It really does, I swear!
Because she wanted to see the task manager.
Heard they've been doing some shady business.
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
