A list of puns related to "Film capacitor"
Hi, i was wondering if i can use film capacitors in rf circuit for example in vhf band, like in a rf amplifier/buffer or oscillator for example Thanks
Will this work? Having trouble finding a specific electrolytic capacitor. Or is it a generally good idea to install what the design calls for?
Itβs for the 1776 multiplex delay
Anybody have any ideas? Tried dorn and the RadioShack in stoughton and the one in Evansville. Iβve accepted that I have to order it, but I just thought Iβd check here as a last try. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I want to build a simple oscilator module for eurorack. In the build I want to follow they used film capacitors (green or red boxes) and I only have ceramic caps with that cpacitance. Would that make a noticible difference if I use them instead? As far as I know the film caps vary less with frequency, right?
first of all sorry if this sort of question has been asked a lot, but i need to by a 2.2 nF film capacitor for a project but they are not available on mouser so i was like hmm what is nF and uF and pF and found this https://in.element14.com/uf-nf-pf-capacitor-conversion-table?ICID=lp-calc-capacitors-WF1529210 and saw that 2.2nF was the same as 0.0022uF but could i just buy a 0.0022uF and just go on whit the project or is there a difference between the two? is it the same for all types of capacitors and not just film capacitors ?
Hello everyone,
I hope all are doing good . Currently I am looking for following questions
Could some one please help me with the above questions. Please feel to comment if there is any thing unclear. Thank you so much

Hi,
I am sorry for asking basic questions, I do not have much experience with audio electronics.
I am going to repair a couple of old floor standing speakers Eltax Discovery (Front).
It seems like one of the capacitors is broken and I should replace it.
Unfortunately, I could not google these old capacitors to figure out their type. Since the grey ones are polar components, I guess they are electrolytic and it is better to replace all of them.
What type of capacitors should I use?
As I read, film capacitors are a kind of standard in audio circuits.
Could I just use some suitable film capacitors to replace all capacitors (including the electrolytic ones) in these photos?
Thant you in advance!
Many recommend using film capacitors for audio since they are more stable with the applied DC voltage, thus for filtering etc. they are more accurate so to speak. Next best is usually COG/NP0 since they have a stable capacitance with temperature. What about COG/NP0 with the applied DC Voltage? I am trying to find data about that. Because if the change is minimal/negligible I'd be inclined to use them for audio especially since film are more expensive and more complicated (reflow profile is more sensitive as far as I know) to solder through a reflow machine.
Basically is it okay to use ceramic in place of film since neither of them are polarized?

EDIT: there is NO difference just US and EU being in two different worlds
Are SMD film capacitors problematic to solder through a reflow oven? I'd prefer them a little over COG since they are usually recommended for audio (signal path) due to having less change in capacitance with DC voltage.
