A list of puns related to "Feminization of poverty"
Hi, I apologize in advance if this question is overly broad.
I don't have much background in eco-socialism and I'm looking to explore some new political theory and history-type reading on the subject. I'm most interested in authors and works that are more focused on poorer and nonwhite people and parts of the world, as well as on feminist issues in eco-socialism. Thanks!
I get human rights, ending discrimination, etc and I am 100% on board; but the amount of time spent talking about something that affects so few people and the amount of posturing by the affected parties is insane. I agree it's important, but it's nothing you need a parade for. There are waaaay bigger issues that get very little traction, such as the number of people living in poverty, even in the most developed nations. Why is that? Is it that the issues that affect huge percentages are too difficult to address? Is it that no one in Hollywood is poor, but a disproportionate number are gay, so there is no platform for poverty? Is the feeling that poverty is a choice? Why don't we have parades for teachers or people who are working to better the world for much larger percentages of the population?
Disclaimer - I know it's been a long, hard fight for basic human dignity for homosexual people. I don't debate that and I have tremendous respect for those people who suffered and continue to suffer for this cause. Not only respect, but gratitude. The world as a whole is definitely better because of their sacrifices. But still...
Edit - added sources for the statistics I used, as people seem to be going down that tangent. Maybe not the best sources, but the first that popped up and seemed legit. I appreciate the debate around what's defined as poverty, I think it's a good debate. But even if you only count people who are literally starving, it's still twice as many people and that doesn't invalidate my initial statement. Have a nice day!

Edit2 - This post was inspired by my personal perception that this issue (which generally has no relevance to me) seems to be in front of me where ever I go (on the net/media/movies) and honestly it seems completely disproportionate to the number of people actually affected. So I stated my /r/Unpopularopinion. There was some good debate and the usual amount of insanity, but this post by u/shadovvvvalker makes a great point th

Honestly, the whole thing is beyond repair, can I just get it all blanked out and draw a smiley face on there instead?
So I've been on HRT since February of 2018 and over the last 1 1/2 years other than some body hair lightening and lack of further masculinization and breast buds in the very beginning I have had ZERO feminization or fat redistribution.I look exactly the same as when I started and while I set low standards for myself when I started I feel I should've had better results than this by now.I'm 21 years old now and have been on injections since sometime in April of this year and my E2:E1 ratio since on injections is about 2:1 which is much better than when I was on sublingual e2 and had a ratio of over 1:20) estradiol to estrone.I thought after getting my test results back after being on injections that I would finally have some feminization because my estradiol/estrone ratio is so much better ,but so far nothing at all.I've been reading a little about some people adding e2 at bedtime while on injections if breast growth is stalled, but does it have the potential of helping with overall feminization though?I just don't know what to do because I want some results,I'm tired of this lack of change.
People in America are allowed to have children no matter their income level, but in order to adopt children you need to make at least 125% of the poverty line level of income or more.
And this income requirement goes up as your household size increases. Of course no such requirement for families who have their own children, and many poor families have multiple children.
In fact we pay poor people for having multiple children via welfare and other social programs.
I know there's no way around it in a free society but it's just a real shame.
Hi! I'm Roxy, and I've... recently (about 2 months ago) realized I was a trans girl. These last two months have been a weird mixture of denial and acceptance, but I really want to start maybe experimenting with expressing what I think is my true self a little more... Style, clothing, etc. The problem is that I'm only out to a few close friends. I live with two roommates who I am not out to. I am honestly not ready to be overtly feminine or buy/try on any feminine clothing in public.
Do you girls have any tips/suggestion for lowkey, personal feminine changes to myself? I was thinking along the lines of clothing for women but not easily identifiable as women's clothing (or not visible), or a haircut of a similar ilk, but I really don't know where to start or look or even know what any of that looks like...
A quote I extracted from an interview with TFM and Dr. Ed Dutton. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
"The universities used to be about nurturing genius. You'd get these, who is it that is geniuses, who is it that solves these amazing problems, people who have outlier high IQ plus moderately anti-social personality. People like James Watson, those people will tend to do what they do because they are highly intelligent so they can really conceive of these difficult problems. They're moderately low in conscientiousness so that means can sort of think outside the box so they're not bound by rules traditions or conformity. They're moderately low in agreeableness so they either don't care that they offend people or they're kinda autistic or a bit spergy and they couldn't conceive that they would offend people even if they didn't want to. New ideas will always offend so they don't care about that so they come up with brilliant ideas. Now women are the opposite of that. Women are the exact opposite of that, they are the opposite of genius. Well, A because women don't have outlier high IQ; the female IQ is bunched towards the mean. And B they tend to be higher in conscientiousness than men and higher in agreeableness than men, so you just DON'T GET many female geniuses. So when they take over university which is happening they will come across as the MUCH better candidate for the job than this kinda autistic wierdo who might if you leave him alone for ten years might come up with something brilliant. Who are you going to employ? Him or this girl who is positive, confident, outgoing... OBVIOUSLY you're going to employ her. So it changes the whole nature of academia. So academia doesn't become about the cut and thrust of debate and harsh disputation to get to the truth, it becomes about cooperating and being kind and creating a bureaucracy where you make incremental steps and publish every so often and this is A anathema to genius types and B very difficult for genius, because they are a bit autistic and will offend people so they get pushed out of uni. and this is happening. " because of women in university they have changed the WHOLE CULTURE of university to make it where TRUTH is plays second fiddle to Cooperating and everyone feeling good and happy and getting along. whereas truth is amoral of course and doesn't care..."
"Female empowerment will make you less harsh to outsiders, more cooperative to outsiders, it will take the institutions of society which have ad
