The Fairey Albacore was a biplane torpedo bomber, designed to replace the earlier Fairey Swordfish. While the Albacore successfully supplanted the Swordfish on the large fleet aircraft carriers, it was withdrawn from front line service in 1944, one year before the Swordfish.

Fairey Swordfish Mk.i as a Bush Aircraft
Bit of a weird one here with a lot of hypotheticals and overlooking required, but let's assume it's the late 40s - early 50s, how well do you think a surplus Stringbag (floatplane variant) would do as a bush aircraft? (For a fictional setting)
Furthermore what kinds of modifications would potentially make such an application more viable? It's obviously got the stall speed and carrying capacity, albeit not much in the way of passenger space. Obviously the canopy from the Mk.IV is something to consider for general pilot comfort, but in the way of storage what might the options be for something like this?
Would be viable to equip some sort of external storage on the underside? What about the challenges that using something this large might incur?
Lastly, around when did floats with retractable quad landing gear start to appear? Would something like that be possible to implement on a stringbag in the 50s?
I'm not particularly savvy on the ins and outs of Bushflying so really any suggestions or insight into this will help alot for developing something more believable.
Thanks in advance.

Fairey Swordfish
The Famous Fairey Swordfish
Fairey Swordfish Mk.3
How was the Fairey Swordfish so deadly against surface ships despite being hopelessly obsolete by WW2?
The Swordfish had a single 7.7mm Vickers Machine Gun in its fuselage with another 7.7mm Vickers Machine Gun in a dorsal turret at the back.
In a torpedo bomber attack role it would take a single 18 inch Mark 12 Aerial Torpedo (really emphases the whole 1 shot so make it count mean somethin) or in a Ground-Attack role it could carry up to six 250ib G.P. Mk.4 unguided munitions or a combo of two 500ib and 250ib G.P. Mk.4 unguided munitions.
Seriously how did the Kriegsmarine and Regia Marina seem so unprepared to face the Swordfish?
Given that the Swordfish was so effective as these 2 European powers had the misfortune to find out
The Kriegsmarine had their Bismarck Class Battleship K.M.S Bismarck fatally crippled and lastly the the Regia Marina who had these victims of the Swordfish in Taranto
- The Conte di Cavour Class Dreadnought Battleship R.N Conte di Cavour - Disabled
- The Andrea Doria Class Battleship R.N Duilio - Disabled
- The Littorio Class Battleship R.N Littorio - Disabled
- The Trento Class Heavy Cruiser R.N Trento - Damaged
- The Maestrale Class Destroyer R.N Libeccio - Damaged
- The Navigatori Class Destroyer R.N Pessagno - Damaged
