Elizabeth Cappuccino Puns

So I’m about to purchase my first machine. More than likely the Mara X. I pretty much only drink lattes or cappuccinos. That being said is the steaming power good enough or will I be wanting more? Would go Elizabeth but don’t like the plastic tubing and brass boiler. I’ve heard people complain a bit about it and don’t want to spend 1500$ if the steaming is going to be hit or miss. Any Mara owners out there that can help? Thanks!

I finally made the machine and grinder purchase - Lelit Elizabeth v3 & Niche Zero.

Now on to the accessories and upgrades etc.

So my question is:

1. does anyone have cup/mug suggestions? I’d like a set that comes with all 4 sizes (espresso, cortado, cappuccino, latte) if possible, but the existence of one is eluding me so I’m not sure they exist. Regardless, still open to brand/cup suggestions even if the set I’d prefer isn’t viable.

2. On another note, I am new to this so I need to know what kind of accessories I need. So far I’ve gathered that I need the knock box, tamping mat, tamper, and dosing cup. I also bought the lelit water filter with the machine. Any suggestions as to additional accessories or upgrades?

3. I’ve also decided on VST baskets, and I’m curious if I need a bottomless portafilter to accommodate the 15 and 18g baskets. The site said bottomless was required for the larger sizes but no mention about the smaller sizes. Or is a bottomless portafilter a worthy upgrade anyway?

4. any vital resources you suggest that will help me better understand this rabbit hole? Whether it be YouTube channels or websites and forums, I’m open to any reliable and accurate content!

I know these questions have been asked a million times so I apologize for the redundancy, but I’ve scrolled this sub for hours and feel like I’m still missing some key points.

It's been a year since I purchased my first espresso machine: Gaggia Classic Pro and it's time for an upgrade. I've been torn between Lelit Elizabeth and MaraX, but I've been convinced Elizabeth is a wiser choice and my wife loves the looks of Elizabeth more (although I disagree, but nvm).

One thing that's important to rule out is mug clearance. We usually make a latte and a cappuccino out of 19g of coffee, however, with the Gaggia sometimes I have to brew the espresso into little shots and pour that into bigger mugs. I don't like that.

Would appreciate someone who owns this machine to measure the distance between the spouted portafilter and the drip tray. Thanks!

Other than that, anything else I should take into consideration buying the Elizabeth instead of the MaraX?

Looking to upgrade from a Breville Bambino + Sette 270 combo and getting a new machine. I have the following on my radar all within the same rough price range and can't decide!

Use Case: Back-to-back latte or cappuccino 2x a day. Strong steam power.

Budget: $1500-2500 (can go higher...)

I'm looking to enter the world of espresso and have reached a point of analysis paralysis after a few days of research, so come to you in hope of some advice.

I intend to buy the machine as a household gift for my parents and I so suspect 80% of the drinks will be flat whites, lattes and cappuccinos. With me being from the UK, it seems that Bella Barista is one of the more reputable resellers that's also competitively priced. I've filtered down the criteria based on a budget of £1000 - £1300 and for the machine to feature a double boiler which leaves me with the below...

• Lelit Elizabeth - £1150
• Rancilio Silvia PRO - £1200
• Profitec 300 (2400w model) - £1250

We've had some consumer grade machines in that past that have lasted no more than a year and so I'm admittedly paranoid about the reliability of any potential purchase, as well as their serviceability and ease to source parts outside of warranty (it would be nice for this to be as close to BIFL as reasonably possible...) which makes me lean towards the P300 and Silvia.

I understand that the Elizabeth has an edge in terms of programmability and pre-infusion but as someone that has no prior experience, it's perhaps hard to appreciate the benefits that would be gained here
