EPDM rubber Puns

Hi everyone,

First off here a picture of our build currently at its current status so that you can picture what the porch roof looks like and get an idea: https://imgur.com/H6B9Wkj

The material he chose to use is Carlisle Sure Seal EPDM Membrane. This is what the treatment looks like: https://imgur.com/yPKMZyd (I've marked up the photo with a red circle to indicate where the current drain sits) We have raised our concerns about the water pooling with the builder and he agrees that the drain needs to be repositioned.

We also have a wall box on one side of the house to make room for the zero-clearance fireplace. We've addressed concerns over this, but his response is he can get the top of the wall box burnt on for us if we really want (but for some reason cant do/refuses to do the same for the front porch roof ???)

I just wanted to see if I could get anyone's opinion on the treatment for the front porch roof that our builder has chosen. I personally have not been able to observe how other people's houses flat roof for their porch has been treated so any insight/tips on this would be greatly appreciated!

Were building out of Vancouver where we get rain for half the year haha so naturally were a bit skeptical and concerned. Would love to hear your insights and for those that work in the industry - what is the typical industry standard for treatment on this type of roof / is this material acceptable?

I’ve got a small 2nd floor outdoor patio where the only flooring is the EPDM rubber roof. How can I easily lay down some flooring/covering that would make it safe for me to put out some chairs on the patio without risking puncturing the EPDM? I’ve seen some interlocking wooden tile decking materials online that you can snap together but they all seem to have sharp points on the bottom. Are there any versions of decking materials like that that are safe to put down directly onto the EPDM roof? If not, what’s the correct flooring I need to install? Thanks!
