A list of puns related to "DigiTech Whammy"
Pretty much title! Had the Ricochet a while back but I simply miss it and regret selling it. POG is cool but Ricochet is way more for my type of playing.
Thanks! This is my first time posting here so I hope I formatted this alright haha
Iβve had a Digitech Whammy IV for the last year or so, got a really good deal on it used and it came in box with all the manuals and power supplies, Iβve never had an issue with it before but I recently rebuilt my board after getting some pedals from the holidays and now it is producing such strong radio frequencies that any and all of my drive pedals are rendered completely useless. Iβve never had this issue before and I wanted to know if thereβs anything I can do to prevent it (buffers before or after the whammy?) Iβm running it off my CS12s AC outlet currently so I donβt understand the problem. I donβt wanna replace the pedal. Thankyou!
Just thinking... Does the Digitech basically do everything the EHX would, plus have the whammy function?
I know you can set different intervals and tune down with minimal loss of quality.
I'm thinking about buying the bass whammy but I play a 5 string and am concerned about the tracking on lower notes.
I've wanted a whammy for a while, but the price has always turned me off. I really like melt-banana, ratm, the white stripes, nels cline, and a lot of others that use it.
For those of you that own one, do you like it? what do you use it for? Thanks :)
I want a pedal that can replicate the effect of taking a a note up 1-2 octaves. I heard tom morello using a digitech whammy in the killing in the name solo, and I fell in love with that pedal, but I don't have enough money for one. Is there some other way I ca replicate a whammy pedal? Or are there cheaper whammy pedals available?
I found this old Digitech RP70 in the back of a closet while I was cleaning the other day. Of course teenage me never read through the manual and just preset hopped. Turns out there is an entire Digitech Whammy hidden inside the unit with Expression pedal control. RP 70 takes external expression so if you are so inclined you can even connect a modular synth to it and sequence/lfo the pitch.
These things are literally for free nowadays and there is no reason why you shouldn't get one.
Hey everyone, I am using a Digitech Whammy Pedal 5, when I turn it on it seems to boost the clean signal coming from the guitar. It makes it slightly louder, and seems like it has a lot more pickup. For instance, If I run my hand down the string, it almost sounds like how an acoustic does when sliding from fret to fret, if you catch my drift.
Funny thing is, I've had it for about a year now. Never had this issue until recently, and I haven't changed any settings that i'm aware of. It's 100% the pedal as it only does it when turning on the pedal. Any Ideas?
Edit: I fixed it, idk why but when I plug into my PC through USB 3.0, it acts weird. 2.0 works flawlessly.
Apologies all for the low effort post, but this is super time sensitive and I trust everyoneβs opinion here.
I can get a used but in great condition Digitech Whammy DT for $235. Is this a good price for used or should I be expecting a lower price?
Thanks all
EDIT: Thanks all for the discussion. While the latency is a big concern, finding a brand new whammy DT shipped for under $200 felt like a deal I could not pass up, so I pulled the trigger on that. Thanks to /u/Akhen for the recommendation on where to find at that price (check comments below if youβre interested), and fingers crossed I get the latency issues solved that others have experienced
I bought a Whammy IV Reissue from a pawn shop today but the pedal won't turn on. I have everything plugged in correctly and I have it apart right now. When I have it plugged into the amp through the dry signal it has this very odd static noise that raises in pitch when I hold the switch down. I am measuring 10VAC directly at the port but when I measure at the switch it is very inconsistent. Sometimes it is 0, and sometimes it's about 3.5VAC. If anyone could help me out, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
im very much interested in the whammy dt for this song specifically but also i like being able to play with the other features.
my question is that, can i use the momentary switch in a way that im in one tuning [physically on the guitar] then change the tuning up in the whammy and back again by just holding down the switch then letting go when i need my normal tuning back?
ive been wanting to be able to play van halens summer nights but you cant really play that song that well unless you have a 3rd hand and a capo.
the way eddie pulls this song off is that he has a steinberger trans trem guitar that allows you to change tunings at the flip of a switch. physical tuning not digital.
below im attaching the video where you can hear/see this in action.

if this whammy pedal works in this fashion, it would certainly save me like 2 grand on a trans trem steinberger. and thats if i could find one haha.
Kinda randomβ¦. but there have been a 2-3 YEM jams from 2000 in which Trey makes heavy use of his DigiTech Whammy pedal throughout the entire jam. Certainly a different sound and feel. I donβt think they get a lot of love, but honestly iβm rather fond of them. Just curious about anyone elseβs thoughts on these jams, and whether they know of others that Im missing out onβ¦
Of the two that Iβm aware of, only one has any sort of video footage. The 6/15/2000 is undoubtedly a better jam in my personal opinion, but dig both..

(Only thing I can find with vid, and its the full show, so use chapters to get to YEM⦠Otherwise they hop off the trampolines around 2:43:00 mark)
Interested in any / all knowledge, thoughts and suggestions..
