A list of puns related to "Democracy movements of China"
>Szeto Wah: Even though June 4 happened, I still firmly support the 'handover'
>
>Reporter: "You pointed out that China has had a lot of problems in the last few decades, but you supported China's resumption of sovereignty over Hong Kong very early on in the Sino-British talks.
>
>Szeto Wah: "Hong Kong was originally a Chinese territory and it was inevitable that it would revert to the motherland. Although I did not agree with many aspects of the regime at that time, if a country does not take back its own land and has no national pride, it is not a country and regime that should be allowed to do so. As Chinese, it is only right that we should return to the motherland and share the fate of the 1.1 billion people. Over the past hundred years or so, it seems that we have been "lucky" to be free from the suffering of the Chinese nation, but we are also a bit self-critical. Therefore, no matter what the future holds, I still support the return of sovereignty, and the 4 June incident has not changed my view.

Alex giving an inspirational speech at an assmebly held in Edinburgh Place on 15th January, 2020.
Please help Alex! He will be deported back to mainland China tomorrow (25/1), facing torture and unlawful arrest (most likely along the lines of 'Inciting subversion of state power').
Alex is a Chinese student from Beijing who came to Hong Kong for the sole purpose of supporting the democracy movement in Hong Kong. He voiced his support to Hong Kongers in various assemblies. On 31st Oct, he was assaulted, but he, the victim, was arrested by the police. He was facing lawsuit until recently the police dropped the charges against him due to insufficient evidence. This had caused him miss his plane to San Francisco and was later informed that his U.S. visa became invalid. His visa for Hong Kong is coming to an end tomorrow and he would face torture, being sent to mental institution and unlawful arrest by CCP. He have decided to commit suicide if he was caught tomorrow.
Eleven years ago, Alex used to (in his own words) 'live aimlessly with no basic freedom and brainwashed'. After reading and discussing ”1984”, ”Animal Farm”, ”Life and Death in Shanghai” with other, he came to appreciate how invaluable democracy and freedom are. While he was in Tokyo as an exchange student, he participated in protests at the consulate in Tokyo, and supported the release of the arrested 709 lawyers.
He despises the actions of the HK government and their police force. He thinks that absolute power can led to ultimate corruption. The HKPF is no different than the China’s Ministry of Public Security/police (公安). They ignore the civilians’ opinion with their absolute power and no consequences.
He stated that the Hong Kong movement gave him a 2nd chance in life and would rather choose to die in resistance, and be a martyr.
'To live without freedom, I'd rather die.'
He said he would still support Hong Kongers to fight for democracy and freedom even if it means he has to die. He would not regret. Please help Alex. Tell the world about his situation and help him extend his stay in Hong Kong. Thank you.
Edit: His flight ticket destination was San Francisco, not Los Angeles. My mistake.
