A list of puns related to "Tiananmen Square Protests Of 1989"
I've met a number of Chinese students who will bemoan the corruption in China, complain about having to be very cautious about the food they buy ( because it can't be trusted), and yet defend the status quo in China as necessary evil.
As minimum I think Chinese students in the US should have classes on why freedom of the press is a requirement for good government. The class should also include a piece on Tiananmen Square.
>Szeto Wah: Even though June 4 happened, I still firmly support the 'handover'
>
>Reporter: "You pointed out that China has had a lot of problems in the last few decades, but you supported China's resumption of sovereignty over Hong Kong very early on in the Sino-British talks.
>
>Szeto Wah: "Hong Kong was originally a Chinese territory and it was inevitable that it would revert to the motherland. Although I did not agree with many aspects of the regime at that time, if a country does not take back its own land and has no national pride, it is not a country and regime that should be allowed to do so. As Chinese, it is only right that we should return to the motherland and share the fate of the 1.1 billion people. Over the past hundred years or so, it seems that we have been "lucky" to be free from the suffering of the Chinese nation, but we are also a bit self-critical. Therefore, no matter what the future holds, I still support the return of sovereignty, and the 4 June incident has not changed my view.

Not at all trying to be reactionary I am quite the supporter of what China is doing today with the high speed railway and their eradication of poverty. But I am clueless in defending the Chinese Government from Tiananmen Square discussions. Asking this cause I saw some nasty photos of what happened to the protesters and just wanna know what your guys thoughts and analysis of that day is? Thank you in advance and again I am not a reactionary
Here's a version of the infamous Tiananmen Square Copypasta about South Korea:
