DSP Group Puns

They need to turn off commenting because there have been too many arguments in the chat while I’m trying to work and my phone is blowing up.

So if you didn’t know Rain is coming out with a new group called Ciipher. I did hear about their introduction which is literally “save us” - which is REALLLLLLLLLLLY cringy and his reasoning is that because the industry is so saturated, the only way for them to make their mark is if fans save them.

I think Rain is kind of a boomer and out of touch. Gang is proved this to no end. The only reason hes popular now as opposed to just being a meme is the fact he didn’t take it to heart and he capitalized on it.

Now I could be eating my own words if Rain pulls this off, but Rain has created kpop groups before and they (MBLAQ and MADTOWN) were abandoned. MBLAQ had relative success but obviously not to the extent of the groups from the Big 3 (obviously). I wonder if Ciipher will sell better than his other groups.

To be fair SM YG and JYP have all had failures before they had someone to save their ass. BoA, TEENAGE BoA, single handedly saved SM and allowed them to become the powerhouse they are today. SM had debuted other groups and artists after their first gen artists but none were to the success of before. YG had other artists but it’s clear as day Big Bang has transformed them into who they are today. Now with JYP I find it really interesting that after Rain, they debuted Wonder Girls and since then all groups have been relative hits or superstars.

Now compare this with DSP who had Kara. Now idk if anyone remembers but Kara DOMINATED Japan. At one point the big 3 girl groups were SNSD, Wonder girls/2ne1 (depending on the year), Kara. They made so much fucking money from Japan it’s ridiculous. I think it’s attributed to the CEO and his health issues leading to the downfall of DSP. It’s a shame DSP could have been the powerhouse but just...didn’t. I also kind of find it funny how back then people said JYP shouldn’t be in the big 3 anymore.

Now here’s where Rain comes in. I think he wants to try being like one of the big 3, creating new groups and becoming a kpop powerhouse.

Dude...Imagine if G Dragon was like nah fuck being an artist and created his own kpop group/company. That would be...INSANE. Everyone would have eyes and ears on that group. But G Dragon seems like he would be more interested in being an artist.

Or even BoA! But the thing is that BoA is like on the board of SM so I don’t even think she would ever want to leave.

I've had DSPS for years but don't have any friends who have it. I desperately want to hang out with people who are awake at the same time as me. I imagine others feel the same. So I was thinking, what if when the pandemic's over we try to host some kind of in-person gathering or support group for people with DSPS so we can all meet each other? We could schedule meetups around the country for people to go to. Would anyone be interested in that?
