As you can see in the transcript and slides below Microvast has released a significant amount of new information on upcoming products (Silicon and Solid State Batteries for example).

We know that also in the Q3 earnings call, CEO Wu told us that two new products will be announced in Q1, but this is a lot more information on those released for the first time.

This presentation below is updates from a IRSEC (International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference) where the Chief Technology Officer Dr,. Wenjuan Mattis presented a wealth of new information.

I'll leave it all here for you in the detail below, but for some of you that don't want to read and look at the detail that I put together in order to share this with you, here are five of the top things:

1. Two New Batteries in Q1 2022Microvast is launching two new batteries starting in Q1 (as per CEO Wu on last quarterly call), and they will be released by the next earnings call. In the presentation from Mattis talked about two key upcoming batteries, the one that would be launched nearest term, was a Silicon based battery, and she talks about this extensively and in the Q&A goes into some pretty scientific big brain things, which sound crazy to me. The battery being launched in Q1 2021 is also shown on several slides, and this battery is the one that won them the R&D 100 award, and it will have silicon carbon components, the polyaramid separator, the full concentration gradient cathode, the non-flammable electrolytes with 30% higher energy density then the competition.
2. Solid State Battery Development and PlansSSB - Microvast through this presentation really embellished their plans and development of a Solid State Battery, Lithium Metal Battery, and that this has been a project since 2015 of Microvast, they have 12 patents in this area, and that they are working with Dr Amine of Argonne National Labs on this as well.
3. Competitive BenchmarkingEven the existing batteries since 2019 NMC 2 beats out competition greatly - one slide with side to side comparison of the new battery to the leading EV battery right now, and we are talking 20% greater range (370 miles vs 300), 3X faster charging (12 minutes vs 30 mins), 3X lifespan (3,000 cycles vs 1,000 cycles, and 4X lifetime mileage (1 million miles vs 270K)

This will be a fun one. If you haven't watched My Hero Academia, I would recommend not reading. You wouldn't understand it, and it may delve into spoilers.

As of the start of Season 2 of My Hero Academia, the 6 members of the main cast transfer to UA in time for the sports festival. In the Unordinary verse, this takes place in the present time. So all of them have their abilities, John isn't completely insane, and they are all somewhat civil around each other (John will still express distaste for Arlo, as will Blyke for John). I may end up making a part 2,3,4... covering further in the MHA timeline. It depends how well this story does.

Aizawa has just announced that the UA sports festival will be held, even after the LoV attack. The students are surprised, figuring it would have been cancelled. Aizawa then announces that 6 new transfer students from (insert wherever you think Wellston takes place) will be joining their class. 6 students walk in. "Introducing John, Seraphina, Arlo, Remi, Blyke and Isen"

The class is excited to see new transfer students. Deku immediately stands up to introduce himself and hope they have a good time. Bakugo scoffs. "Someone's enthusiastic to be buddies with the new nerds." John locks eyes with Bakugo. "The f*** did you call me?" Bakugo smirks. "I'll say it again"

The temperature in the room drops several degrees. Before things escalate, Deku tries to calm down Bakugo while Sera warns John to stop. They oblige, but stare each other down all the same.

Aizawa clears his throat. "Well, I'd like you all to tell us what your quirks are. Better way to make the class trust you." The Wellston students seem confused for a second, but then remember that their abilities are called quirks in this place. Remi starts.

"Hi, I'm Remi. Queen of Wellston. My quirk is called Lightning. It allows me to generate and control electricity. I can use it for self enhancement or attacking. I hope we can all get to know each other!" Murmurs go around the class as people look at Kaminari, who laughs, saying his quirk, Electrification, is very similar, but not as versatile. Remi smiles, happy that there's someone she can definitely relate to here. Blyke goes next.

"My name is Blyke. My quirk is Energy Discharge. I can basically expel energy in destructive beams or versatile shockwaves. It's not the strongest but I'm happy with how I've developed it." Once again, the class focuses on two students. Aoyama and Bakugo. Aoyama

Electrify certain bus rapid transit schemes

BE IT ENACTED by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Commons in this present Parliament assembled, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliament Acts 1911 and 1949, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1) Definitions

1. “BRT” shall refer to a Bus Rapid Transit scheme
2. “EBRTs” shall refer to Electric Bus Rapid Transit schemes
3. “Electrification” shall refer to the process of replacing motor buses (i.e. buses that use a diesel engine) with trolleybuses (i.e. buses that make use of electric motors, overhead wires and batteries) in Bus Rapid Transit schemes

2) Electrification

1. EBRTs shall be electrified to a 750V DC standard using overhead wires made from copper
2. EBRTs shall draw power from the cables using a pantograph (also known as a trolley pole) which may make use of either a contact shoe or a wheel to contact the wires and draw current
3. EBRTs may make use of lithium ion batteries to store power when the trolleybus is not using the overhead wires

i) These shall not be required in schemes where there are no areas of off-wire running

4. The batteries shall be required to have a battery life of up 1 hour fully charged

5. Overhead wires shall be restricted to areas of segregated running and most roads

6. EBRTs must set aside a stop or site along the BRT route for switchover between overhead wire power and battery power if one is required

7. A bus driver, conductor or other member of staff employed by the BRT operator shall be required to extend and lower the trolley poles at switchover locations and ensure switchover procedures are followed.

8. Trolleybuses shall be fitted with an emergency back-up battery with a life of up to 10 minutes in case of emergency such as:

a) The trolley pole breaking or leaving contact with the wires

b) The batteries depleting

c) A breakdown

d) Failure to operate the switchover procedure correctly

9. Should trolley overhead wires crossover with railway overhead wires they must be separated and insulated from each other

10. By Order, the Secretary of State for Transport shall have the power to revise these standards
