Can a priest use a wooden chalice and paten during Mass?

Iβm asking this question because of a comment from more than one person. Iβve heard other Catholics say that βThe vessels used at Mass must be of a precious metal such as silver, gold, or something similar.β. And now that I think about it, he is the only priest Iβve seen use such vessels at Mass.
The priest at my local parish uses a wooden bowl and a plain wooden cup. Iβve seen these vessels up close and can confirm that they are not lined with any metal on the inside - itβs all wood.
My questions are 1.) Are priests really not suppose to use such vessels. And 2.) Is this an issue that, as a layman, I should be concerned with?

How does chalice interact with spells that have X in the casting cost (ie Walking Balista or Prismatic ending)?
Also how does it interact with cascade cards (living end, rhinos)?

every couple of days i see someone in the elden ring or ds3 reddit shitting on chalice dungeons of bloodborne. I was wondering if that's some general agenda or only a vocal minority?
Sure, chalice dungeons ae repetetive but you just dont have to do them at all if you dont like em.

Was talking to some friends friends, and the discussion turned shouldn't turn to chess/Magic. We were discussing some of the parallels. Knowing metagames, memorizing common lines, etc.
"Mox Diamond, land, chalice on one, go" is a lot like the GrΓΌnfeld defence. They are both rare openings. Both are known board states that later branch out into more possibilities. And both encourage an aggressive trading of resources.
It's not an exact equivalence. But as a casual chess player, I thought it was an interesting observation.
Of course, I'm happy to hear both chess and Magic players tell me how wrong I am, ha ha.

none of the messengers in the chalice dungeons are selling weapons. I'm trying to get the Rakuyo and I tried 2 chalices [8i29rqz3] [s497yj6i] and the messengers in the dungeons only sell me items.

Looking for nuggets of wisdom from those with more experience with this type of deck.
Hereβs some thoughts Iβve had, in no particular order:

How about a white splash for MB Prismatic Ending and swap the SB Pillages for 4 Wear//Tear? Or possibly even Engineered Explosives and donβt name Obosh?

Or maybe just keep straight Red and replace Pillage with Shattering Spree? But I guess at that point best to just keep the Pillages lol
Also, how would this deck fair against Bogles, which is pretty common in my local meta - Blast Zone is for sure great, but popping it ~T4 feels a bit slow, especially as the deck has very little relevant interaction besides a T3/T4 Shadowspear + a few Burn spells.
SB EE feels like the neatest solution, and just accept no Obosh in that match up.
For the black armor, do you just prime black, prime another color and paint the armor black, or Prime black and brush paint black too? Also, how do you do washes if the armor is already black?
