A list of puns related to "Carnage (2017 film)"
Iβm legitimately traumatized. I canβt stop thinking about it. The more I do, the more I love it. Itβs ambition and thinking are huge. Itβs engrossing. It made me so fucking mad and anxious I wanted to kill something. Itβs one of the more effective movies Iβve ever seen. An enigma.
I didnβt turn it off because I wanted/needed the catharsis of a good climax. I needed the pressure to be relieved. Im not sure it delivered that, instead itβs climaxed reshaped my perception of the entire journey that came before it. I was still stressed, but also motivated. This surreal nightmare echoβd a truth about the world that made me want to be better. What more can you ask of art?
I donβt know if Iβve ever seen another movie that made me feel anything close to the same way. Do you have any suggestions? It might take me a couple weeks to build up the strength to watch it, but i really want to be able to find another experience like this.
I've recently taken an interest in Finland's role in World War 2 so I've been digging and found a film to watch loosely based on the subject. I do really apologize if I'm grossly misinterpreting the purpose of the subreddit, I am kind of banking on native Finnish speakers having more understanding of the source material. Hopefully someone has seen this film.
I haven't read the novel that the movie is based on, and I'm certainly no historian. I feel as though I'm missing something. Around October 1st of 1941 the fictional Finnish machine gun company that the movie is following arrives to the Russian city of Petrozavodsk, from there it follows briefly the story of a particular soldier and his relationship with a Russian woman and her friends of college age.
I have a few questions and I'll try to keep them concise:
I'd appreciate any suggestions on where else to ask these if no one here can help (or wants to, that's understandable) If it turns out to be unwelcome here I'll delete the post no problem.
Was Chucky (2021-) on SYFY/USA always intended as the next installment or was there supposed to be another movie?
I seriously think that was the worst movie I saw in the last two or three years. Everything was rushed as hell, waaaaay too much humor and Carnage is basically Venom in red. They missed his character completely. And the movie is so damn short. I feel like it shouldβve been at least 120 minutes long, and they shouldβve use this time to really dive deep into the character of Cletus, actually showing his story and not just showing it as a drawing. The movie shouldβve been dark and gory and not this festival for kids. What did you think of the movie?
I remember watching "Coco" for the first time in 2017βbefore I knew the CF community existed and when I was too young to be thinking about kids at all much less definitively deciding I was CF. I thought it was a really beautiful movie and cried a lot.
My husband and I recently rewatched it for Dia de Los Muertos (he was raised in a Hispanic household). I still think it's a beautiful and emotional movie, but this time I picked up on some themes that gave me pause. I mean, "Coco" kind of takes as its whole foundation the "you need children to care for you when you're old/carry on your legacy" bingo that we all know and hate.
I personally also struggled with some of the pro-family elements, like the implications from the main character's family that family members come before your own dreams and ambitions, or the idea that you need to forgive family members for the harm they cause. These aren't strictly CF ideas, but they are things our community is more likely to have complicated feelings about as many of us have had to go low or no contact with family members who don't understand us or respect our decisions. This was also a discussion point my husband and I couldn't see eye to eye on so much, as he's a son who was raised in this culture that prioritizes family much more than mine and who is not NC with his family like I am.
All this to say, I had some complex feelings about this movie, and I'm curious what you think if you've seen it!
In this second Lockdown Special, the trio dive into the bizarre world of French car culture. On an epic road trip starting in the Welsh hills, they dish up a hair raising mountain climb, bomb defusals, propellor powered cars, helicopter stunts and the most thrilling race of their lives before reaching the English Channel for a jaw dropping medieval climax. And a soupcon of French art house cinema.
