A list of puns related to "Boryspil International Airport"
I travel to Ukraine every two months or so and on my way out I always spend few hours in airport and see many Jewish (Distinguished by certain style of apparel) passengers in groups.
I am not meaning to offend anyone here, just curious - does Kyiv have big Jewish community or is Boryspil like some sort of major connecting airport for flights between certain destinations?
Curious to know as most airports I often go through (London, Dublin, Berlin, Amsterdam, Riga, Vilnius) never seen such consistency of certain groups of passengers.
(Again - I mean nothing bad about this, just curious)
I have to prove I donβt have covid before my flight to Italy.
I will be flying to Kyiv (Boryspil) from the US tomorrow. According to pandemic policies, I will need to show proof that I have registered with the Dii Vdoma mobile app. To register for this app, I need to have a Ukranian phone number. I have tried to purchase an eSIM online from all of the carriers (Vodafone, Kyivstar, and Lifecell) but ran into different issues with each of them. I'm thinking it would be easier to do this in person. My question is, do mobile carriers have stores in Boryspil airport **before** the border checkpoint?
I was coming back from Prague to Kyiv and had sat down for a minute to use my phone so I could get a ride back to my apartment. This part of the airport is busy with people waiting on passengers to arrive, some currency exchanges, and you donβt have to go through security to get to this part of the airport of course.
I glanced at a currency exchange just to see what the going rate was. A man βworkingβ for the currency exchange approaches me. He speaks English, something along the lines of, βYou need hryvnia? I can give you very good deal, come here, come here!β I ignore him, try to get up to leave, and pretend not to understand. He follows my steps and tries to ask what language I speak. I give him a dirty look and go about my business. Heβs mad Iβm not giving him attention.
A man yells at him. I didnβt notice before, but this man was watching my annoying/following manβs every move. I donβt speak Ukrainian or Russian very well and I suspect they were speaking the hybrid of the two, but I did understand them yelling about me. Basically the man following me yelled back βI have her!β
I try to walk away when the man following me grabs the strap of the backpack Iβm wearing and tells me βcomeβ while trying to pull me. Iβm a very small person but Iβve been taught self defense. I whip myself around, breaking his grasp, hold up my arms, and yell at him the Ukrainian words I hoped I would never have to use. βNO. NO. NO MONEY. STOP.β His face gets angry so I yell louder. βHELP! GET LOST. GET LOST. LEAVE ME ALONE. HELP!β People were looking at me realizing what the man was doing and he backs away then completely disappears.
I strongly believe this man was trying to take me. Theft isnβt difficult in Ukraine, so why try so hard to convince me to go with him? Why grab me? Because it is organized crime.
Creepy airport man, letβs not meet
Dear all,
I did a search and could not find anything. My wife has to travel back to China quickly and has booked a flight with a long layover at Boryspil Airport.
She doesn't have time to get an electronic visa. As the layover is 17 hours she would like a bed for the night.
I see there is a Boryspil Hotel. I'm guessing you still have to exit the airport to stay at this hotel right? She can't as she will not have the correct visa.
Please if anyone has any information or guidance of be most appreciative. Thanks for reading my post and have a great day.
I asked him, "Do you know any of those martial arts things, like Kung-Fu, Karate, or Ju-Jitsu?"
He says "No, why the f**k would you ask me that? Is it because I am Chinese?"
"No", I said, "It's because you're drinking my beer, you little prick."
