A list of puns related to "Blaster Master (video game)"
The original blaster master on nes is actually my first favorite metroidvania, more so than castlevania or metroid ever were.
I bought the original remake on my switch like 4 years ago and honestly forgot all about it until now. I see thereβs 3 of them and no one talks about them at all.
Are they bad?
Hey again! I released my first GBC patch: Blaster Master - Enemy Below (USA, Europe).
https://github.com/treyturner/analogue-pocket-patches#blaster-master---enemy-below
While I was learning how to patch, I documented my findings and process in case it interests anyone else. I'm used to coding in high level languages like Java and Python, but I was totally new to assembly except for a few code-oriented games. I found patching to be a great practical introduction to the subject; maybe you will too.

Feedback is more than welcome; you can post here or open an issue on GitHub. Have fun!
Two years ago, I made a post about Blaster Master Zero 2 and how that improved basically everything from Zero 1. They (mostly) did it again, albeit not as drastic as the jump from Zero 1 to 2. I'm really happy that this trilogy ended on a high note.
I have done two full playthroughs of this game (marathoning it for 7.5 hours and 5 hours respectively), both in handheld and docked. Let's get the first (of few) disappointment out of the way: handheld mode actually struggles with framerate with busy scenes. It targets 60fps, but it can dip below that and actually slow the game down. Docked fares way better and is almost perfect, but one boss had VERY minor issues with framerate. That being said though, even though I'm sensitive to framerate I personally never get too bothered with frame drops in video games. Still though, be warned if you're primarily a handheld gamer since you are not getting as good of an experience compared to docked or other platforms. A shame because Zero 1 and 2 were perfect on handheld.
For the actual game itself, they refined the combat even more with a different set of weapons and new maneuvers to really spice up the combat. I think this is probably the best moveset of them all, especially the on-foot combat which definitely feels like the best in the series.
This does run into a problem Inti Creates games generally have though, in that your moveset is so OP you can delete bosses in a blink of an eye. This felt like a bit of an issue for me in Zero 2 and 3, where the tank gameplay can feel kinda braindead in terms of bosses in both games, but I think Zero 3 does use some more interesting bosses over even Zero 2 to make up for it. It's also the hardest game in the trilogy, but not terribly so. Endgame can really hurt, although for different reasons that will make sense in context. On the whole it is easy to breeze through the game with your OP equipment.
Unfortunately, if you are really expecting a Metroidvania-type game, Zero 3 does trim that down that element. It's similar to how Metroid Fusion is more linear than Super Metroid or how Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is more linear than all the earlier games or how Dark Souls 3 is more linear than Dark Souls 1 and 2. Zero 3 is probably no more or less linear than Zero 1 or 2 (at least from a casual standpoint, not sure about speedruns), but it definitely feels more linear becaus

> As the conclusion to the modern take on the Blaster Master saga, Blaster Master Zero 3 hits all the notes it needs to deliver a high octane and satisfying retro platforming experience. The dark world mechanic adds a nice extra layer to the overall design, while the familiar aspects of gameplay are as polished as theyβve ever been. Inti Creates certainly couldβve stopped with the original Blaster Master Zero and that wouldβve been enough, but what itβs delivered here with its third take on the franchise is nothing short of excellent. Whenever you next get a chance, be sure to add this one to your library, although weβd say so with the caveat that you should first play the preceding two entries. Really, these games are just that good.

> Blaster Master Zero 3 is a rewarding and memorable conclusion to an epic trilogy of incredible games. So, if you're bored with the recent wave of hand-holding AAA titles, you'll definitely enjoy its old-school level of challenge that's set in one amazingly intricate world.

> Blaster Master Zero 3 is the perfect way to cap off this series for long-time fans. Itβs highly encouraged that you play the previous titles, given that the challenge here is significantly higher than the previous entries. This game will test your 2D action skills to the fullest with unique upgrades for both Jason and G-Sophia SV through difficult platforming sections, dungeons, and bosses. However, as a reward, youβre treated to an amazing finale of an

So I bought and played the Blaster Master Zero series this week. Here are some thoughts.
Blaster Master Zero is the most metroidvania and had the best exploration. I didnβt even realize it was a remake until after I beat it. I say the only real problem is the boss fights are really easy and donβt require much thought
Zero 2 is my personal favorite the map is a bit more disconnected compared to the first game but the dungeon layouts are still really good. I think it has the best story of the three and I like the feeling of exploring through space.
Zero 3 was a good conclusion to the series. I think if I had to place it it would be my least favorite by a hair. The whole hyper dimensional space gimmick they added it made map navigation a bit unwieldy. Also temporary upgrades would stay listed on the map and it made it look like I had a bunch of stuff I missed. Itβs a minor issue but I always like having a clean map when Iβm done. Still all that said I think it was a very satisfying conclusion to the story of Jason and Eve.
Overall great series really fun to blast through.
Personally feel like it's blasters> greatsword>sythe
With blasters, you have to watch you're movement/spacing, as well as keeping the opponent out of your deadzones. And considering right now that all blasters weaker matchups are all meta right now, it's even more difficult to pull off in the current meta of brawhalla.
Considering the 45Β° angle is blasters weakness, it even worse. Most people hover at that angle to attack. Sythe, hammer, katars, canon. It is literally a death sentence for a person that cannot space that. Spacing doesn't just stay the same, you have to constantly adapt.
Sythe only requires good reads, if you can do that, the weapon is as smooth as butter.

Those wondering what my new favorite is: itβs Metroid Dread. But this isnβt about Dread.
Gameplay first: still love it. A side-scroller where you control a Tank and get to hop out and continue your exploration on foot should you so choose. And the fact that you have to do certain dungeons as the pilot himself makes this a real good marriage between top down adventure schmup action and side scrolling Combat that Inti made a name for itself with from Megaman Zero. And from 2 onward, they allowed the action to go full Anime with Blast Counters and one-on-one boss fights against other pilots.
Story tho might be my favorite for I am a HUGE sucker for Macross and Eureka Seven. Classic Boy-Meets-Girl thatβs told pretty well especially thanks to optional Dialogue you can access from the menu a la Metal Gearβs Codec system.
It may not be THE masterpiece I saw it as back then, but I was still able to relive the joy of playing it and rediscovering fun challenges and really cool turns the story made.
Does anyone have an art book from the trilogy collector's edition they'd be willing to sell or share scans of? I already have the trilogy- and I want to get the art book without having to buy another one
Its ten bucks for both right now on ps4. I think ive read on this sub a few positive reviews? Is it s good mvania?
Got some old computer parts collecting dust that Iβd like to get rid of. All parts were in working condition when pulled. Located in 32765. Prefer local but willing to ship. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
