His contract was terminated early in order to make room for another foreign player, John Egbunu. In 8 games in the Israeli league he scored 6.3 ppg with 3.3 rebounds. in 5 games in the Champions league (generally the 3rd strongest European competition after Euroleague and Eurocup) he averaged 7/4.2.
Thon Maker (10th pick in 2016), who signed Jerusalem the same day as Bennett, was released a few weeks ago after displaying subpar ability as well.

Of course, this discourse will be all moot if he comes back as a super senior (which will most likely happen given future NFL prospects look slim).
He sure has that moxie teams look for in the NFL given he was able to beat out JT Daniels and D'Wan Mathis who were considered abundantly more talented than Bennett.
IMO - would probably end up as a UDFA as a camp arm, but hey - who knows, maybe a team will fall in love with him and ends up being a late day 3 pick - if he ends up not coming back.
This is a follow up from last weekβs post. These numbers are updated to include Stetsonβs playoff statistics.

Walk on to champion, through the ups and downs he fucking did it!!! Damn Great Dawg and a motherfucking champion!!!!!
There's a common phrase I've seen on this subreddit that the new four stars being 'niche' is fine and good for the game because it discourages power creep and encourages new teams comps and that characters like Xingqiu/Bennett/Xiangling were a mistake and should not be repeated.
While I agree with this sentiment on paper, actually if you look at the game in the past few months, the new four stars have barely put a dent in the meta. This is because they're a bit underpowered even in their niche.
One of the unintentional side effects created by this is since new characters don't change the meta, a lot of the new team comps that become popular often need Bennett because he can buff and heal at the same time while the new characters only perform in one niche. Like eg. Gorou can only buff Albedo so if you want to run Zhongli/Ningguang/geo MC with Itto or Noelle, you still need Bennett. And Gorou's c4 isn't strong enough to sole heal the team against stuff like corrosion so you still need a healer.
The main problem with this is that Bennett just doesn't have any passable alternative - four star or five star. Atleast if you feel over reliant on Xingqiu, you can pull Childe/Kokomi for alternate national/freeze/taser teams. The only teams where Xingqiu is irreplaceable is Hu Tao/Diluc teams iirc. This is not true for Bennett. There are so many new/resurgent teams since 1.6 where it's just significantly worse without him:
Eg:
Childe International (it blew up after Kazuha release iirc).
Yoimiya teams
Raiden teams - national and hyper carry
Itto - hyper carry team (Itto/Gorou/Zhongli/Bennett), Itto microwave team (Itto/Zhongli/Geo MC/Bennett)
Ganyu melt teams (Seems to be more popular now after Venti nerf and also only option for players without Mona/Kokomi).
Basically if you have any two of these teams, you can only play one at a time in abyss because there's only one Bennett. And some of these characters like Childe heavily depend on Bennett for their dps output so you just have to bench them if you can't use Bennett. This sucks if you're a new player with less options in the first place. After all when pulling a new character you can't expect to know the optimal comps of the character.
Not the greatest player, but the biggest overachiever. Compared to where expectations were for him, I can't think of another player who overachieved beyond expectations more than the Mailman.
Single-Season Passer Rating, Since 1980

Does this change anyoneβs opinion on whether or not Stetson deserves the starting job?
