A list of puns related to "Battle of the Pyramids"
I'm playing the PC version on hard, and the rest of the game was smooth sailing. This part, however, I just can't do. I tried the rifle, and I can get a few dozen shots in but James is so damn slow and I can't see them half the time because the camera will just focus on James in the corner and with the amount of time it takes to pan the camera around and get a shot in, I get hit very frequently. I've seen people use the great knife and just stand in the corner and swing it back and forth with the quick attack, but I can't even figure out how to do that. I read somewhere that the quick attack is pulled off by pressing the action button more gently, but on the Steam controller I'm using it only registers a full press, so the only thing I can do is the executioner's swing, which is too slow.
HELP!
In my opinion, that final battle is a new gold standard. CA is clearly building off of their past final battles and it really shows.
Right up there with Mara, The Dreaming City, Calus, Uldren, The Nine, Drifter, and countless other major plots lines that have started and never finished. I don't care if it's as simple as "Uldren died on the way back to his home planet", just finish something for once.
Iβm sure this has been posted about a bunch before, but want to post a reminder as I was just attempted to be recruited to one of these!
I saw right through it once she started actually talking numbers, and was skeptical from the beginning (mostly because I swear to god this girl never broke eye contact with me) but hereβs the story:
I work at a Barnes and Noble and this girl around my age (mid 20s) came up to me asking help finding a book (After researching the scheme, apparently they target places like this! Another guy was approached at a Target) I donβt remember how but we got into conversation about wanting to give back to our communities and wishing we had more money to be able to get by and spend more time doing that. The convo went on for a few mins and then ended and that was that. But then later, kid you not, she startled the hell out of me just by standing in an isle that I walked by. I donβt know why I was so surprised, itβs a store, so people browse... but I was. She then started the convo up again, saying sheβll see what she can do, no promises, but sheβs in this business group where they mentor each other and make enough money on the side to get by, yada yada. Why she wouldnβt have mentioned that the first time we talked, I have no idea (perhaps some psychological trick).
We exchange numbers, she calls me a few days later (which felt weird; Iβm not against calling, but Iβve never met another person my age that didnβt text first if we didnβt know each other) and we agree to meet for coffee a few days later.
At coffee we chat and she essentially interviews me and I end up telling her my life story basically (honestly donβt regret it, it was kinda nice to hear myself say it all out loud π) and she says Iβm a great fit, but she doesnβt want to give me more info yet, I have to read 30 pages of this book that sheβll send me a PDF of (I forget the title but you can find it by searching Amway scam lol), and we agree to meet again. God this sounds insane, typing it out haha.
Second meeting was tonight. She asked me some more questions, and then finally I get to see what this secret business is all about. What do you know, Amway! Graphs of literal pyramids! $218 start up fee! Having to buy all of your household products through the company! Making $9 commission from $300 sales (which she said was amazing and I had to stiffen a laugh)! More talk about how exclusive it is! How sheβs had such great mentors through this! I can soon get $3,000 a mon
... keep reading on reddit β‘By the end of the season we all know The Darkness will reach Saturn. Lots of folks are talking about how Titan should be relevant since it'll be deep in the dangerzone... but what about one of Saturn's other moons, namely Enceladus?
During the Ace of Spades quest we got a message from Cayde: "If the sun over Nessus escapes nebula cycle, evac labor after dawn under solstice." It's On Enceladus "It" we've presumed, being The Deep Stone Crypt probably.
There might be a bunch of Exo bodies laying around there just waiting for something to boot them up and take control? Maybe some Exo husks will be possessed by nightmares in the near(ish) future. Just wanted to throw the idea out there hoping folks haven't forgotten about the messages Cayde left for us, they're still worth thinking about.
Your thoughts?
Spurred on by a discussion on r/askreddit, I thought it may be interesting to post about this.
The great pyramids of Giza were indeed covered in a layer of limestone and marble with a peak of sheeted gold. The visual spectacle of them shimmering in the sun must have been a sight to see. What happened to their outer-glory?
While the looting of artifacts and the marble layers did not necessarily take place in one particular era, given the regularity of looting from the Byzantine era all the way to the time of the Mamelukes and later colonial period. The marble casings really took a beating under the Mamelukes.
It all started in 1303 AD when a massive quake struck the Cairo region. It dismantled much of the outer marble layers at Giza effectively cracked the marble casings enough to create mounds of the valuable material. These were salvaged by local governors to decorate their palaces and mosques.
In 1356, a Mamluke Sultan, Nasir Ad-din Al-Hassan, began to use more of the marble from the pyramids to construct palaces, and decorate mosques in nearby Cairo. This was also done by the later Muhammad Ali Pasha in the 1800's. Towards the arrival of Napoleon and the British, the outer casings were but rubble with many other antiquities and royal graves across Egypt already looted.
This was exacerbated by the era's mainly European obsession with mummies to the point where they used them to paint homes and burn in fireplaces. In some cases thet were even consumed as a sort of bizarre and magical delicacy by some societal elites!
Edit: Yes, they were encased in polished Tura limestone mostly, and not marble. Second language mistranslation !
I dont spend much time on lore, but ive been reading stuff today and this is just an idea that may or may not make sense with what is known about the lore. Regardless, here it is.
Fallen - Variks will return in the story as the new Kell of Kells. Spider of course will help us.
Hive/Taken - I may be crazy but does Savathun want us to help her? Reading up about PoH, she wants us to kill the hive champion to keep getting stronger?
Cabal - I vaguely remember something about Calus having seen the darkness and heβs been running from it? Could he bring a legion of cabal to help us?
Vex - The vex, I dont know nearly enough about to spin this in any way to make sense. From what I understand they worship the darkness because it is beyond their understanding? Maybe if they see all of the other races team up, then their simulations will show a slim probability that the united races will win a very slight majority of the time.
Awoken - We eventually break the curse on the dreaming city, so they help us.
Exo - Something something Deep Stone Crypt, something something Braytech/Stranger, Something Cayde-7 (Most improbable imo)
Well Im ready for this idea to get decimated with lore facts, and I cant wait to see whats really going on in the story.
Also, just a bonus idea. The way we help Savathun save the hive from living by sword logic and having to kill to survive may be by killing all of the worm gods? One last thing, did we really kill Xol?
In November 2017, the ScanPyramids research team announced they had made a historic discovery β using cutting-edge, non-invasive technology, they discovered a Big Void within the Great Pyramid. Its the third major discovery in this mythical monument, the biggest discovery to happen in the Pyramid of Giza in centuries.
The revelation is not only a milestone in terms of muography technology and scientific approach used to reveal the secret chamber, but will hopefully lead to significant insights into how the pyramids were built.

I don't think anything secret or special will come out of this, just thought it was a neat detail most won't recognize since everyone has already done the invitations.
