A list of puns related to "Baby Talk (TV series)"
now that the show has aired 5 episodes, i would like to give my thoughts on it and see if there are others who feel the same way as i do. not zealous fans and not haters, but some where in the middle :)
EPISODE 1
i always thought it would be nice to see nynaeve and egwene doing women's circle things. but upon seeing the episode, the problem is, it took time a way from the episode for more important things. we could have completely cut the women's circle scene as it does absolutely nothing but some world building for emond's field. where as that time could have better been used for the farewells. rand asking his dad about the sword, lan seeing the sword, tam teaching rand about the flame and the void (we still haven't seen rand practice with the sword 5 episodes in, we still haven't seen him learn about the void and the flame 5 episodes in, like WTF!!!!!), matt saying good bye to his sisters, how he comes to terms with leaving them behind with his deadbeat parents. egwene making her peace to go with them after just losing nynaeve. the farewell scene could have added some world building and a lot of character building for the characters as a whole that impacts them throughout the series rather than the initiation at the start that does almost nothing for the rest of the series. "well it was foreshadowing for egwene learning saidar man" you might say. to which i will reply with, it was pointless because in episode 2 moiraine walks her through that exact thing either way.
PERRIN!
i understand they made him married and killed his wife for the whole weapon vs tool conundrum. great. now he can't get together with faile because what kind of monster dates again within 5 years of accidentally killing his wife let alone a year or 2. yea not his fault, that shit is still traumatizing tho.
now there are 2 ways the showrunners can try and write them selves out of this corner.
A) make her a darkfriend so perrin killing her was fine.
B) use the aelfin/eelfin/dalinar night mother method and now he has no memories of his wife.
these are both really bad game of thrones season 8 levels of bad writing. because it would nullify the impact of perrin killing his wife to a major degree and make the entire scene completely pointles. like it was done for the sake of fake shock value. one of the best things about the first 4 seasons of Game of Thrones was that every action had consequences. you play the game without knowing the rules? you get beheaded, you make a po

I've seen many of these titles or am planning to. I need to give some of them a rewatch now that I am older. So apologies for any misinformation. Common themes include identity, diversity, trauma, sexuality, psychological problems, drug use and addiction, loneliness, coming of age, romance and friendship. Certain media are more for adults, but might still be relevant to you.
Skam and Euphoria (US) are the most compared to Skins, and both tackle topics that teenagers deal with, like sex, self-discovery, bullying and societal pressure, mental health problems, homosexuality and transgender issues, etc. Euphoria is a remake of an Israeli series that is kinda underground. A big theme is substance abuse and its effects. Skam has many versions and the same channel produced another show called Blank. Not sure how that one is, though.
Hormones: The Series is considered to be the Asian counterpart to Skins, and there are gay couples. However, expect censorship, as Thailand is a conservative country. It started with a movie that was so successful that it spawned a 3-season "lakorn" (drama). Thailand has a ton of LGBT-themed media; another one that was well-received is Love Sick (not to be confused with the British sitcom).
SLiDE was a short-lived teen drama from Australia. If you want more Aussie stuff, check out "Heartbreak High" (from the 90s) and "Nowhere Boys". "Ready For This" features an indigenous cast, haven't seen it.
The Inbetweeners is said to be the opposite of Skins - a group of losers trying to navigate the last years of school (Sixth Form).
Misfits aired in the same channel as Skins and Inbetweeners (E4). It is a series involving a group of young adults with superpowers. I really loved it.
Glue is a murder mystery said to be similar to Skins and Broadchurch.
I'm a fan of the Degrassi franchise from Canada, but it's not for everyone, as it has an educational vibe and can be a bit cheesy sometimes. I like it though, as the actors/characters grow up and there are serious topics such as teen pregnancy, drugs, LGBT issues, mental health, prejudice, etc. Known for featuring Drake (Aubrey Graham). Director Kevin Smith used to watch Degrassi when he was younger. Has many installments. I suggest starting out with

English isn't my native language (not even my second language). But I do love to watch british series in english and if available with subtitles(not often the case somehow). Imagine my confusion when a unrelated looking 30 year old calls the older women character Mom. Because it didn't happen to often on my viewings (maybe Ma'am isn't that common) I was confused but I put it always aside as me being not attentive enough. Only with the magic of subtitles was I able to understand how much of an moron I was.
Hi everyone, Iβm back with an update to my previous post:

As I said before, Este and I feel incredibly vindicated by the judgment and the comments in general, as we are always being told by our mum not to be hard on poor Alana. Itβs got to the point where we donβt rip into her like we do each other, which is a shame as we are English and our primary love language is insults and sarcasm.
Anyway, I digress. I got my chance to confront Alana on Saturday evening, when Alana and my mum came over for another round of Jackbox and Alana asked me if I liked her new βJump.β I replied βyour what?β and she levelled me with a slightly smug, unblinking stare. My mum jumps in and tells me βshe means her jumper,β and Alana interrupts her, saying βShe knows what I mean, I can say βJumpβ if I like.β Clearly she had decided to double down, but I had my Reddit voices in my ear and I was prepared.
I asked her to stop talking in nonsense words, and she told me that itβs a thing that βall millennialsβ do, and I needed to βget over it,β and said that I do it too, and gave βprosecβ as an example (Prosecco).
I disagreed, then told her that Iβd been Googling it (translation: Iβve asked a bunch of Redditors) and that it had made me wonder if she was doing it as a reaction to no longer being the youngest in the family. She was VERY affronted by this, telling me she had been doing it way longer than the arrival of the kids. I said that she had been doing it much more recently- my mum AGREED WITH ME! Alana looked LIVID at this and kept spluttering that it wasnβt the case.
I then said that in my Google (Reddit) research Iβd read that it could be a comfort for anxiety and asked her if this is what it was: she seemed very annoyed about my trying to diagnose her or make it into an issue. (IMO she was trying to be cute and funny and I was ruining it with my concern for her well-being.) She told me that I was very weird for thinking itβs a big deal and for Googling it, and I said I was doing this because sheβs far too old to be talking like a yoda baby. I then said that if it wasnβt a reaction to anxiety, could she please stop, because it annoys me a lot and I donβt want to be annoyed when I hang out with her. (Full props to Reddit for my phrasing here.) She stared at me in silence for a good 20 seconds. I could see her

EDIT: UPDATE.
Thanks for all the comments, Iβm trying to read the through them on and off while looking after my daughter and some of them are really making me laugh.
To answer a few questions, yes, Iβve addressed this with her before, as has Este, this is just the first time Iβve flat out refused to follow up on what she said. Sheβs pulled the βbut you do it with your daughterβ card on Este before too so clearly she thinks thatβs a good argument.
The only people present were me, my mum, Alana and my husband, it was just a low key thing so no big crowd. Este and her husband joined later via zoom. We played Joke Boat on Jackbox, I came fifth.
Alana is generally very sweet and fun, but definitely immature and can be super annoying; this gets on my last nerve VERY quickly and I can be hard on her, hence my AITA. Usually my husband is good at pointing out if Iβm being harsh, but he was totally on my side here.
Yes, I used the Haim sisters names on purpose, and yes Iβm smug I get to be Danielle.
Anyway, my mum just came over and I spoke to her. She agreed very quickly that it is annoying AF but said that Alana is working on standing up for herself and my mum wanted to support that. I was like, sure, but pick your battles. My mum agreed and said she will talk to her about it when itβs just them as she thought that agreeing with me in the moment would have made Alana defensive and she wouldnβt have listened, which is probably true. I mentioned what some commenters had said about it being my house and me being able to ask her to stop, she agreed with this and reiterated she would talk to Alana.
Thatβs all I have for now. Iβm going to talk to Este and I think weβre going to go for the βtalk to her seriously/treat her like an adultβ approach, and try and be a bit kinder about it. Thanks again for the comments, Este and I are feeling very vindicated.
ORIGINAL POST
Really need Reddit for this one as I genuinely donβt know if ITA. Throwaway as my sister has Reddit. All fake names.
My (34F) sister (27F) Alana has always been somewhat infantile, but in the last year sheβs stepped up her game in the category of nonsense baby talk. She was seeing a guy last year who I think liked it, which might be why, but itβs literally every second sentence, and itβs driving me nuts.
Some examples- sheβs arrived at my house and asked if she could put some βyoose in the frooojβ, turned out she wanted to put juice in my fridge.
On seeing my six month old crying
... keep reading on reddit β‘Episodes 1-5 had me totally stoked. I was really excited that my favorite fantasy series was getting a decent adaptation. And then what the !@#$ happened those last three episodes? The series took a serious turn from decent adaptation to train-wreck. My main gripe was this whole "we'll take you all to the Eye to fight the Dark One and whoever isn't the Dragon is gonna die" with all the main characters being like, yeah alright that sounds fine to me. What justifies this? They had one Trolloc encounter and were all willing to throw their lives away for a Dragon that had zero prep/channeling experience? What the ever loving... Not to mention the travesty of whatever they did to Lord Agelmar/Loial/Moiraine stilling... come on. The sa'angreal ISN'T EVEN FAT.
Anyways. I might read EotW again just to reset my brain... So annoying because the justification for going to the Eye in the books, Rand's encounter at the Gap and everything else would have made so much more sense for the show to simply implement. :(
Something similar to Peaky Blinders, Hannibal or Breaking Bad would be ideal.
Edit: Thanks for the responses. After much careful consideration I have decided to go with The Wire
I don't know if this question has been asked before but I will ask it anyway. What movie do you think would have been better suited as a TV Series?
Some films try to cram wayyyyy too much into too little and feel overstuffed as a result, personally, I think the recent Matt Damon film Stillwater would have been better as a crime miniseries since there was just too much put into the film it felt overstuffed and questions were left unanswered
What films would you say?

I need a new tv as my current one doesnβt have 4K. Should I look at getting a tv with the 2.1 hdmi? Or with 120hz? I donβt know too much about TVs. Will a 4K 60fps tv do?
Not exclusively. Anything with Jack sparrow make into a movie. Whatever. But Iβd love to have smaller short form stories of the other pirates in the Caribbean. Maybe make it an anthology and give a series to each story. Make the story actually about Pirates in the Caribbean and not Jack sparrow and friends.
I have a 13 year old Deaf sister. She's been Deaf all her life. We watch a lot of movies together. It's one of the things she can actually enjoy doing with other people. We've seen all the Marvel movies and series and she's watched them too. Anyway. When she saw Hawkeye was hearing impaired she beamed with a smile because she felt he was like her now. I too love how the show handles deaf and hearing impaired characters. It really gives representation to the deaf and hearing impaired people in the super hero world.
Just wanted to share as this was something that just made me smile.
We just finished the second season and I feel like the second season is just as good if not better than the first season. I've read the books up to where they're at in the show. There's a lot of changes, especially in the second season, mainly expanding and adding characters (the broad strokes are still pretty similar), but I think overall they're more positive than negative. What does everyone else think?
So my brother tonight is sitting down to watch Star Wars IV with his son for the first time and we were talking about shows that we wish we could see again for the first time.
So I ask you, what is the one TV series you wish you could rewatch but with fresh eyes for the first time?
