I was a Naval Flight Officer for about 10 years. I've always enjoyed hearing about how my colleagues got their call signs. Often it would be a play on words related to someone's last name. For example, I knew a guy whose last name was Packer. His call sign was Fudge (of course).
My call sign was Ferret. Here's why: First day I arrived at my squadron someone observed that I looked nearly identical to someone who had recently departed, and that guy's call sign was Ferret. Someone said, "Hey! Ferret is back!" It stuck.

Edit: There's been a few people on other posts who have been suspicious of this letter, however u/rensole and others have posted it. The most people have is your name "signed" at the bottom, they don't have any info on your shares other than you have at least one.
The outcome of this letter is to get the Board to call back shares and see how many people are requesting the call back collectively. I hear there's also a movement on Change.org as well.
