A list of puns related to "Alpha particle"
Hi
I have read that radon degrades after 4 days and emits alpha particles that attach to dust. I recently had my basement mitigated so the radon level is at a 1(I forget the measurement used) so should be safe from a radon perspective.
However, if I want to clean my basement what about all the dust? Do the alpha particles in the dust degrade or neutralize someday?
I'm trying to port over an avatar but the only shader that supports transparency proper for the Quest is alpha blended. (multiply and additive both look completely wrong) its in the vrchat/mobile folder so I don't know why its being rejected.
The error its giving me is "avatar uses unsupported shader 'VRChat/Mobile/Particles/Alpha Blended'. You can only use the shaders provided in 'VRChat/Mobile' for Quest avatars".
I'm only getting this issue with alpha blended and not with particles/additive or particles/multiply. Does anyone know why this is?
Hi. Just updating things here. Microfreak, Meteore, Context, Particle have all been traded
Everything has a box, except for the Context.
Really want to get my filthy little mitts on a Tensor. Preferably without losing the Particle or Microfreak...but they're there just in case.
Other than that, I'm pretty open to offers. Currently awaiting a DBA Rooms, but if you want that Context, maybe we do that for another verb. Currently awaiting a Wardenclyffe Deluxe, but wouldn't be mad at a Romferd. I don't know...maybe a CBA Gravitas or Champion Leccy Skitter.
Hit me up with your stuff and the worst that will happen is that I turn down a perfectly good offer. But, I don't think I'm going to do that anymore.
Go watch I Think You Should Leave. *heart emoji*
Hey guys,
I'm pulling my hair out here. I want to do a text reveal like this. Easy. My problem is, I want the particle to be custom snowflakes. Particle Systems II allows to you to use "Source Alpha Inheritance". Which is absolutely a needed element, as my Art Director likes the look that the particles come strait from the text. But Particle Systems II does not allow you to use custom/ textured particles. And Particle World (which does allow me to use my snowflake design), doesn't allow me to use Source Alpha Inheritance. Any ideas how I can get both of these features to work at once? I don't have access to Particular unfortunately.
Thanks so much for any help.
Does anyone know of a way to kill particles that have an alpha value of 0? For further information, I am using the "Mesh Reproduction Sprite" module and a material that utilizes the Niagara Mesh Reproduction UVs.
I have a custom shader which supports transparency. I would like to apply a material with this shader to a particle system, but fading the particle color in and out using "color over lifetime" doesn't work. I assume it is because the system is meant to be used with the Unlit shader and can not access the alpha channel of my shader? How would I go about changing that?
Thanks for your help.
What are the factors between why different sources of alpha radiation emitt them at different initial kinetic energies? Thanks!
Also, would that mean the radiation has the mass of helium, more or less? That sounds like itβs got interesting implications.

I keep reading that with alpha emitters, even though they might not emitters a large amount of radiation, they are dangerous cause you could inhale alpha particles. So I have 2 questions
how many alpha particles you you have to inhale for it to be dangerous? Like a singe particle? Or a visible amount? Or 0.1 grams?
What kind of damage would it cause? Like are we talking death or like asthma or cancer?
Thanks for any help!
I've been reading about the history of the Atomic model and how it came to be. I came accross some interesting points that got me some questions.
Between 1909 and 1911, Geiger and Marsden did experiments in which they aimed alpha particles at gold foil. The amount of deviation and deflection of these particles lead to the new model of atom where a large amount of charge and mass are in the center of the atom in a nucleus.
Later on in 1917 the proton was discovered. Later on in 1930, Irene Joliot Curie and her husband, Fredric, used alpha particles to find an unknown radiation, which was neutral. James Chadwick then discovered the neutron.
My question is, how is it that even before the discovery of proton, the alpha particles were being used. Also after the discovery of proton, it took some long time for neutron to be discovered. What was assumed to be the structure of an alpha particle before and after the discovery of proton? Was it assumed that alpha particles are entirely made of proton? But wouldn't that contradict the mass to charge ratio, considering that alpah particles are half proton half neutron?
Actually, I am wondering if they had any idea what an Alpha particle is...
