Alpha and beta carbon Puns

Seriously. I try to find a story to read, and half of them are this crap. I’m all for relationships with whoever, M/M, M/F, F/F, ?/?, etc… whatever, but who’s bloody idea is it that people have pre-conceived roles in the bedroom. Who’s idea is it that a relationship between Izuku, and Bakugo if they have similar personality types as in canon is healthy. Do a bunch of y’all get off on such relationships. And again, WHY IS THERE SO BLOODY MUCH OF IT?

How hard would it be from a developer standpoint to implement the following list of changes to our bot-buddies.

1. You may select any of the existing roles (gunner/demo/doc/etc.) for AI companions.
2. You will have to level each respective role for AI companions, as well as their weapons.
3. AI companions will have their own unique grids for each role, configurable on the endeavor (unlocks and purchases from Kim are universal for companions and player”
4. When the player opts to play alone, they may configure AI companions to the desired role, EG Alpha will play as his level 5 Doc, Beta will play as his level 8 Demo.
5. When a player matches with only one other player; after locking fireteam, each player will be able to select their respective AI companion, and “roll” for them to occupy the third spot in the same manner as a challenge card. AI companion will be outfitted with preselected role / cannot change at selection screen.
6. Add scroll wheel option to select AI companion formation. Currently the formation equations seems to be based on “last known player movement and direction = position 1 companion forward of player reticle, and 1 companion to left of player”. Formation options can be chosen to default AI companion formation to adjacent to players last known movement and direction (line) or adjacent to and behind players last known movement + direction (L shaped). Could even make this a slider scale so player can configure exact desired default formation. Existing =. A B. P Desired =. A. P. B Or Desired = P A. B Or Desired =. P A. B So on and so forth. This could be added to the left arrow button on PSN and presumably XBOX DPAD as this currently has no assignment in game.
7. Add in game command menu to select AI default behaviors such as (aggressive, companions will actively seek out and destroy enemies regardless of player engagement; Passive, AI will only respond to threats to themselves or player; Normal, AI will act either in defense of the player, themselves, or engage targets when player does, and finally; Pacifist, AI companions will not engage any targets for any reason, and simply follow players until the behavior is changed.
8. Add “go here / come here / stay here commands.

You know, not necessarily all of these things, but any individual suggestion raised would be a quality of life improvement.

In Star Trek the Original Series Kirk and crew run into androids several times and while it's not the most common thing they run into it certainly doesn't shock or amaze them at all but then during the era of The Next Generation they say that Data and his fellow Soong-type androids are the only known androids in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. And one time when Voyager encountered a race of androids in the Delta Quadrant they were shocked and Belona Torres even told one of them that Data was the only other android that they knew of. What was the cause of the disapearance of androids in the Star Trek galaxy between the TOS and TNG era's?

Biological hierarchies are found n humans as well as other species. They are easily demonstrable and have significant social value. My questions come from seeing so many young males on Reddit rebuking masculinity as “toxic” and also denying in the existence of alpha and beta males.

What are your thoughts?

This community is way too accepting of using the technical limitations of the engine as an excuse for everything. I’m 99% certain AAA video game developers can fix a problem in their game.

While it's good to have the synth company they're not the sharpest tools in the shed. It would be great to be able to give simple commands through the emote d-pad (which you never use anyway running solo) so the companion synths can be deployed in strategic positions and aren't just roaming sentries .

It wouldn't take much to make them more effective on Intense. Just want them to come immediately to my position, and stay in whatever position they are in, so they don't wander away from those choke points. It would make intense solo runs much less of a headache.

So I've been dumb and I just assumed the only difference between alpha and beta sets was just that they look slightly different, but I just realised even though they require the same parts to craft, beta sets give you like 1 less level on one or two skills and have WAY better decoration slots? Like beta sets always have level 4 jewel slots but alpha ones only have like level 2 or 3 max, so what even is the point? Aren't beta sets just so much better than alpha sets then?

Also, how do I get better jewels? Sometimes I get level 4 jewels but I don't get skills that are very useful, like I'll get Def Lock jewels or like Critical Draw but is there any way to get better ones like Weakness Exploit or Expert jewels? I know there's the Elder Melder but she only has very basic jewels like elemental resistance ones plus all of her stuff requires like 5 other jewels to make anyway.

BTW I just got past the quests where you have to hunt Ebony Odogaron and Acidic Glavenus so I think that's probably fairly far into Iceborne right? So I should have access to way better jewels but idk how to get them

Why is everyone trying to judge your caliber as a man? Why do other people get to judge if you deserve to be loved, respected, or happy? You don't know the stuff I've been through, but you know what type of person I am and whether or not I'm weak. I wish I could pour acid down these people's throats.

All I see is this advice telling men to be:

Alphas: emotionless dicks to women unless they're having sex with them, develop pseudo confidence that basically becomes arrogance, and can't take no for answer that can get creepy. Hell isn't the whole point that alpha wolf/males are supposed to be kind, hearted, and like a caring father, and yet the dudes that call themselves this act like they'd be abusive fathers instead.

Beta: People and mostly women will only care about you if you have money and success. Granted, we all needed money and a stable job, but that's not the only thing worth it or Jake Paul wouldn't have several people, women included, despise them.

Sigma: Reserved men are automatically sigma despite the fact that anytime someone refers to a fictional example: Batman, Sasuke, Keanu Reeves...wait he's real, the whole point is that despite being reserved, they're much better when they let people into their lives and lower some of their demons. Batman has spiraled without his allies numerous times, Sasuke pushed so many people away he became a villain and a murderer to the point a war, meeting his dead brother, working with the people who became his second family, and then getting his arm blown off by the one person who desperately trying to get him to open up, and Keanu's shown to be a friendly guy, just doesn't have a lot of friends.

This one is the dumbest mentalities men take since it feels like a lot of men who make this shit are just as lonely as the dudes who listen to them, and getting all the attention validates their mentality instead of accepting the fact that insecure, shy, and reserved people can still be and find happiness.

Gamma: Which I didn't even know existed until lately, and I can only assume half the people who use this term are Sonic fans who just think it would be cool to have him return to the franchise.

And yeah, Omegas are considered the bottom of the barrel, or hopeless, but it sounds like they're the ones who get picked on and bullied for not being different than someone else, and that's not something that should be considered "something you shouldn't be," more like something we should help to stop.

Granted I know some people take these thoughts based on animal behavior but a) the wolf analogy was debunked by it's own freaking creator, b) all humans are animals but not all animals.

Trying to get them to stay put in a choke point is a headache. A couple of commands issued through the emote d-pad (that I hardly ever use) would make them actually useful in solo runs. As it is they are roaming sentry guns. At least sentry guns stay put in designated positions.

Is this BIOS safe? or should I roll back? I kinda didn't notice the 'Beta' disclaimer while downloading.

Currently been stuck for over 2 weeks trying to separate the alpha and beta forms of a sugar like molecule. They need to be separated sufficiently enough that one can be detected at 0.01% level of the other. Tried normal C18 columns, HILIC amide columns, c18 amide columns and a variety of others in reverse phase. Then tried chiral in normal phases but couldn’t even see any peaks present (columns very old so ordering some new but will take ages to arrive). Has anyone got any other ideas that I can try?

Maybe because I don't consider myself some peak specimen, or maybe because I think it encourages elitism, or just pride/better than you type thinking. But it really doesn't matter what I think, there appear to be hundreds of thousands of people that buy it. (At least according to view counts.) So by right of numbers they win I'm just one dude. But still I think it really dips into misogy-type though processes, and entitlement to women's admiration/affection (shich no human should have (in my opinion)) and just encourages domineering, controlling, arrogant behavior. All the things that miff me the most.

But then again I'm just some dude, living with his parents inhis 20's whose only gone on 3 dates, and each girl hated it (or me I should say). So it could just be me and my ego saying this and not any sort of greater good. I mean I absolutely know I'm a lazy hypocrite, so any arguement I make is flawed from the start, even just on the grounds of morality.

In my mind Grim Monolith is Black Lotus, and here's why: The very first foil cards released in a publicly available way were in Urza's Legacy, and the most significant card from that set was Grim Monolith. Available only once in a foil variant, I would venture a (educated) guess that a foil Grim Monolith is more rare than a Black Lotus (from ABU combined). I'd say most importantly for Grim Monolith though, it's Legacy legal.

Along with Grim Monolith, several other cards on the reserved list have been printed in foil only once, whether as a Judge foil, FTV product, or just in Urza's Legacy/Destiny, all of which are legacy legal to my knowledge (except Yawgmoth's Bargain.)

In my opinion foil reserve list cards are drastically under priced vs. their true Power 9 counterparts, for the simple fact that they are significantly more scarce and have higher utility in the game. Old foils in general are incredibly cheap - think about an Alpha common, there are none for sale for less than around $20 even in MP condition. You can get foil Urza's Legacy cards for less than $1. Urza's Destiny foils for less than 50 cents. Mercadian Masques foils for pennies depending on condition.

My point is: Urza's Legacy, Destiny, and Mercadian Masques are the Alpha/Beta/Unlimited of foil cards.

If you could go back and buy alpha, beta, or unlimited rares at $1 to $5 to $20 a card, would you do it? I see the foils from these sets taking the same trajectory as they have been too cheap for too long.

Would love to hear some counterpoints and opinions.

Hello guys, recently I've rewatched Steins;Gate and Steins; Gate 0 with a friend, and I saw a lot of details I didn't see before, which let me two questions I can't answer yet

1. How is that Okabe has the Reading Steiner in the alpha worldline?

I don't remember exactly which episode it was, but at some point Mayuri told to Okabe that when he was a child got very ill and had symptoms too similar to the Reading Steiner, this happened around the 2000. There are many people that tell this was caused by Suzuha who then, in the beta worldline, was avoiding the Y2K problem which changed the active worldline to one where that never happens. I don't know until what point this is true because is something wasn't told directly.

But if is true that it was the cause behind Okabe has a Reading Steiner stronger than other people, so how Mayuri remember he was sick if that happened in the beta worldline? Also, how that affect to the other Okabes? It just had to affect the Okabes in the beta worldline, so those from alpha wouldn't have Reading Steiner and the divergence meter would not be created in the future.

2. How is that Kurisu knows about Amadeus in the alpha worldline?

The Amadeus system was created by Leskinen to save the Kurisu's memories because he knows she will die in the future, but this happens in the beta worldline. In episode 8 of Steins; Gate 0, while Okabe and Kurisu are going to the Mayuri's grave, he told her about Maho and the Amadeus system, and she knows very well what is he talking about. So Amadeus also exists in this worldline, but why? If here Kurisu didn't die, and anyways the time machine conflict would involve only SERN.
