A list of puns related to "Al Fatiha"
Al salam alaykum,
My grandmother recently passed away, it would be appreciated if you can recite surah al fatiha for her.
Thank you
I'm 100% sure that there are Muslims who don't memorize Al-Fatiha. But I need your help to find some resources that prove this point.
Are there any videos or polls or articles that talk about Muslims failing to recite Al-Fatiha?
hello brothers and sisters can you please explain to me why in Surah Al Fatiha it says "you (alone) we worship and you (alone) we ask for help (for each and everything)" specifically the "you (alone) we ask for help" part because we ask the imams like Ali and Hussain for help in getting Allahs mercy or for Allah to grant something to you
What I noticed is that people from my country very quickly recite Al Fatiha. To recite the surah intelligibly and in a normal tempo without the melody you need about 30-40 seconds. It seems like the people here do it in 5 seconds. When I see their done I'm halfway there and I recite it at a normal tempo and not so that it sounds like "bsmllh rhmn rhm, alhmdlh rbbl alammnn". How do they do this so fast? Is it just to get rid of it quickly and does it literally sound so unintelligible or? I don't get it.
The first surah of the Quran, Al Fatiha, goes like this -
In the Name of Allahβthe Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
All praise is for AllahβLord of all worlds
The Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Master of the Day of Judgment
You (alone) we worship and You (alone) we ask for help
Guide us to the Straight Path
The Path of those You have blessedβnot those You are displeased with, or those who are astray.
Now, think about this - What does the surah sound like? A prayer, right?
It sounds as if someone is asking Allah for guidance and praising him.
However, the Qur'an is supposed to be the word of Allah Himself.
How is it, then, that this portion is part of Allah's words?
Is Allah praising himself, and asking himself for guidance? That cannot be, it is absurd.
It is evidently Muhammad speaking here. Which means the first chapter of the Quran isn't the word of Allah, but that of Muhammad.
The addition of a simple word 'qul' ('say') could have removed all confusion, because then Allah would be commanding the believers to recite the following prayer. The word is actually there in other surahs. Yet it is missing here, which is a very significant thing.
Concerning this, Ali Dashti wrote in his book Twenty-Three Years: A Study of the Prophetic Career of Mohammad -
>These words cannot be Godβs words. From their content it is clear that they are the Prophet Mohammadβs words, because they consist of praise to God, homage to God, and supplication for Godβs help. God himself would not say "praise to God, the Lord of the Worlds, the Compassionate, the Merciful, the Master of the Judgement Day." This difficulty would not have arisen if the Surat ol-Fateha had been introduced with the word "say" (Arabic qol) in the same way as many suras and verses, for example sura 112, verse 1, "Say βHe is God aloneβ"; sura 109, verse 1, "Say βO unbelieversβ"; sura 18, verse 110, "Say βI am only a human like youβ". It is logically untenable, however, that God should say "Guide us to the straight path, the path of those on whom You have bestowed bounty, not of those with whom You are angry and who have gone astray."
>Since Surat ol-Fateha cannot consist of Godβs words when its whole content is praise and supplication to God, it must be deemed to consist of the Prophet Mohammadβs words and to be a prayer which he composed.
He further adds that there were many who noticed other irregularities in the Quran, but their opinions
