A list of puns related to "Affinity (sociology)"
Hi! I'm in my 20's and I'm hungry for some knowledge! Unfortunately, I have limited time to read, so that's why I'm looking for books that either are extremely relevant in one of the topics from the title (or another, for that matter) or that can offer me a general preview of the field (i.e. a general view on eastern philosophy/western philosophy/physics, summary of human history/economics, etc.) β this kind of stuff.
Thank you in anticipation and I look forward to your recommendations!
EDIT: Although I'm not able to respond to everyone, I upvoted all of you. The recommendations are excellent and I'm happy beyond measure!
Iβm just a 26 year old dude, living at home with my parents, working my corporate job. Been saving up for about two years now so I had the excess cash to safely dump into AMC without putting myself in too much immediate financial stress. I came in here thinking βheck, maybe I can make some money here and not have to work againβ. But when I read and see all these posts from mothers, fathers, other single people like myself, going out of their way to buy and hold to lift themselves and their kin out of financial servitude?
This is the first time in LONG time where Iβve felt Iβm in a position to actually enact meaningful change in other peopleβs lives. I thank you all for that, the constant memes, DDs, ape shit, all of it. I feel invigorated knowing that so many other people can benefit from my ability to be a stubborn fucking retard and hold my shares and buy more.
My word of advice: take care of yourselves. This could be a long game, these banks and hedges are going to fight tooth and nail to hold on to their cash. Take breaks. Go outside, read a book, play a game, rest easy knowing that this ape and many other are stupid as fuck and will hold for you.

Aggressive artifact strategies are as important to modern as Jund is, imo. The mox opal ban killed the decks and left a lot of players out in the cold, feeling frustrated that the deck they had played for years and spent time mastering was more a dog.
Urza's Saga, Thought monitor, and nettlecyst have now breathed new life into these decks. I saw a post on here talking about how Urza's saga should possibly get banned. To that I say, we got complacent for too long, not preparing enough for these decks. I say this is good for modern. Your sideboards should be tight. You should actually have to choose between cards that are good against certain decks but not others. With affinity here again, stressing our deckbuilding, decks like graveyard decks can thrive again as the hate ebbs and flows between different priorities as the meta shifts back and forth.
I welcome our artifact homies back into the format.
I have 2 months of vacations and I am really looking forward to reading more of sociology. It's my major along w political science at college :)
Please post your reviews under the parent comments for each player. Please discuss how the card played for you, what difficulty/rank you played at and any tips or tricks you might have for the player in your review. Comparisons to other cards are encouraged as well.

Okay so first off, I definitely donβt live in my grandmas basement far from that actually. Iβm just like a lot of you I canβt stop watching the train wreck.. peridot! I originally just enjoyed the content for the car adventures but now itβs a full blown show.
Iβm actually majoring in sociology right now and her TT, mental disorders, the oversharing of her past, the religious trauma and this Reddit thread is a gold mine for me! This is text book. Thanks Talyn for the oversharing of everything! Thanks to whoever made this Reddit!
if your majoring in any social sciences this thread can really help with social media as a sociological observation ππΌ
I'm heading towards the end of my BA in political science (Europe) and I have a hard time deciding on whether I should continue with a MA in polsci or if should pursue a Master's in sociology. I found out that I do not enjoy the narrow focus on governments and political actors in polsci. I'm more interested in large-scale analyses of social groups and interactions within society. My goal would be to work as a market research analyst, in media research/analysis or as a researcher/project manager for non-profits. Do you think a Master's in sociology with an emphasis on data analysis (and social theory) would be useful for these kind of jobs?
Did anyone of you pursue a MA in sociology after graduating from political science? Was it the right decision?
Textbooks, Books, revision sites or online courses- any source you'd recommend would help out! Thank you!
If you can have 12 year old theoretical physicists, 8 year old chess players beating grandmasters, or 5 year old Master musicians, then why isn't there social science prodigies? Is it really fair to say that theoretical physics is more intuitive than Marx?
Maybe kids aren't exposed to sociology as much as they are math at an early age, but would it be theoretically possible to train a really young kid as a sociologist? I dont know why you would, but it would be interesting. Or maybe you really do have to have lived in society for a while to get a sense of social norms... On the other hand, if you are a sociology prodigy, that should be something you pick up on quickly... Just a thought.
Hi! Are there any recommended journals/book/articles on Sociology of Space? Am interested to learn more about this subfield. Are there also some major theorists in this particular area? Let me know! Thank you!
I am not sure how things got so intense on on this sub. I see a lot of meanness, but just a note, this sub is supposed to be just about a reality show. Its not a college course in sociology. If you are here to educate anyone, you are probably in the wrong sub and if you are using big words like misogyny or hetero-normative you are also probably in the wrong sub.
That sort of talk is good for a college thesis, but it's too heavy and is not the intention of this page. The world is an intense place and this is intended to be a place to escape all of that and just enjoy the absurdity of a show about finding love in 9 weeks.
There is another sub for you. I can not stress that enough. Thank you.
To expound on that, do you feel that tradition or βthe old wayβ just isnβt a good reason to frequent an establishment? Iβve never been to the UK, but I understand that many pubs are kinda drab and that more young people are choosing a more contemporary drinking establishment.
Is the pub one of those places that you meet your parents at when youβre back in town for the weekend? And when youβre out with your mates you go to a more hip/modern place?
Or is it that young people just arenβt really drinking? I read some statistic that people aged 16-24 only 3 out of 4 drink any alcohol at all. I find that number kind of crazy since I canβt even recall meeting someone that age that doesnβt have at least a little to drink. But apparently, young people in the UK arenβt drinking as much.
Iβm sure the βcorrectβ answer is probably a combination of all of the above, but wanted to ask for some anecdotes.
Bonus question: here in the states weβve always heard growing up that over in the UK pubs would serve you beer as long as you werenβt a young child (like under 12 years old). Is there truth to that?
Why is marketing without sociological theory meaningless? Perhaps this debate should be raised in more departments of advertising, marketing and public relations. Let's start by defining what both disciplines are:
Sociology is the science that studies human relationships and tries to make sense of the behavior of groups within the same social context. Sociology has as its object of study society and the groups of people that are part of it, it tries to shape reality and meaning to the actions of individuals, for this it uses the constituent elements of the scientific method: observation, question of research, hypothesis, analysis, conclusions and disclosure. On the other hand, we can define marketing as the science and art of communicating, adding value, exploring and identifying consumer needs and creating strategies to satisfy them. To achieve its objectives, this discipline needs to know its object of study - the consumer - and the field where it relates and builds its thinking, ideas, emotions and criteria - society. The work of marketing depends on individual choices, on the theory of rational choice: our choices are predetermined by our desires and our beliefs, elements that are obviously built on the basis of our socialization processes and our relationships within a cultural and social context. Marketing will develop its strategy depending on the structure of the contextual target where it will act, this is where the value of sociologists comes into play.
How many television commercials have caused anger, outrage and controversy? Countless. This happens because the companies that have been behind that spot do not know who they are targeting. The last advertisement that I remember as controversial was a Correos campaign in Spain: 'At Correos we believe that the value of a person should not have color, that's why we launched #EqualityStamps: a collection of stamps in which the darker the color of the stamp, the less value it will have. Thus reflecting an unfair and painful reality that should not exist. βThe company issues this unfortunate spot to promote a collection of stamps of different shades of black: the darker the color of the stamp, the cheaper -less valueβ it has. The Correos tweet announcing its campaign went viral in a matter of hours and became a trending topic on Twitter. This type of campaign has been expensive for some companies. Nike lost 3% of its market value as a result of a campaign against racism in 2018, during the Trump ad

Why are people so obsessed with Cranial Plating and all-in Arcbound Ravager gimmicks? To me it feels like there are so many concepts unexplored and people just fall back to the same payoffs instead of exploring other wincons.
This is my exploration attempt:

[[Neoform]] variation turns your free Salamanders into 8 drops. Even saccing Thought Monitor seems fine if you just paid 1 mana for it. And you can turn a frog into an Acidic Slime on turn 2 if you need to vs Tron or Saga.
[[Voyager's Staff]] is there to double the etb triggers or save your big bois from removal.
[[Brainstone]] is there so you can shuffle back the 8 drops stuck in your hand. No room for fetchlands unfortunately but Urza's Saga shuffles and so does Neoform and landcycling. It also digs 3 cards deep to find Neoform or a 7 drop.
The sideboard is an alternative / transformative build focused on [[Rampage of the Clans]] instead of Neoform. This is a card more people need to pay attention to and test because it's incredibly powerful. I would call it affinity's version of Collected Company. Just like Coco, you can cast it on turn 3 but instead of getting 2x 3 drops you get something like 21-36 power across 7-12 bodies and that's usually good enough to win.
What people don't seem to understand about this card is that it turns every 0 and 1 mana artifacts into 3/3 tokens and that is very strong. Would you play a 0 mana 3/3 or 2 mana for two 3/3 tokens? Of course you would. That's why 1-2 mana permanents that generate material is very good with Rampage. (So The Underworld Cookbook and Trail of Crumbs are worth considering if you go this route).
[[Fae Offering]] was a huge addition to Rampage builds as it adds +4 or +7 artifacts / enchantment aka 3/3 tokens. Very easy to trigger when you have so many free creatures and 0-1 mana noncreature artifacts. Yes Salamander going from a 4/4 to a 3/3 is a slight downgrade, however the upside makes up for it. You can also attack with your 4/4s, and Rampage on opponent's turn before blocks or at eot.
Obviously, one big problem with Rampage is that there are other artifact and food decks running around. And you could end up in a situation where Rampage is actively bad. However since you decide when to cast it (for example in response to Asmo activation) then it can also lead

Hey guys, Iβm a sociology major and Iβm having a really hard time deciding on a minor. Right now Iβm doing a double minor in Indigenous Studies and in Womenβs Gender Studies but Iβm thinking of switching one of my minors to environmental studies. My thought process for this is that climate change effects those who are of a lower socioeconomic status at a greater rate than those of a higher and climate change is something that Iβm interested in. I would probably keep my Indigenous Studies minor and swap the Womenβs Gender Studies. Thoughts??

I am SO excited to see affinity make a comeback. Urza saga, thought monitor, nettlecyst, and esper sentinel have made the deck so much fun and it feels competitive. And it was amazing for the deck to be about 1k paper checkout per my recent cardkingdom look.
Do we think this is a deck that can hang for the long term for the format and maybe adjust accordingly? (Seems like a lot of flex spots). With all the pieces we got, it seems like its fun and gives an actual aggro deck with some resiliency.
Just curious on opinions.
Iβm studying sociology (if that wasnβt obvious haha), but Iβm very interested in sub-cultures and the cult-ish behaviour that effects individuals. From Travellers, JW, Mormons, Scientology etc. I was in a relationship with a JW, so maybe that sparked my interest in it even more, because I saw how much stuff he went through. However, I donβt want to encroach so if anyoneβs ok if I make a post for my uni piece and talk to people - thatβd be great. My goal is basically just to say cults exist in the millions in our societies today, itβs ignored in main stream media (and I canβt change that), and it effects amazing people. Often because they then donβt fit the βmouldβ of that group (although more complicated). Thanks if you read it π
One of the questions we get here fairly often is "what should I use for layout for my game?"
One of the most popular answers is Affinity Publisher. It is a one-time purchase, unlike Adobe InDesign, and has a lot of great features. They are currently have a sale that you can look at here.
We don't endorse it (or any other software) but I purchased it during the last sale and put it through a few paces, and liked the result.
stew, bge .... etc, all using seer teams and calling them frozen banshee teams, non-lego teams ..... etc
Hi everyone, Iβm 2 years into my sociology major and Iβm thinking more seriously about what I can do with my bachelors degree. I do plan on getting a masters but Iβm not sure if I should pursue it in a different field? Iβm a relatively strong communicator and writer, I have done non profit work in the past and hope to do work in the education sector, however, I might also want to pursue a more communication driven career. I am not opposed to learning coding or other skills necessary to make me competitive in the job market. What are some recommended skills I should pick up/ masters degree options I should consider in order to be more hirable? Thank you!
Forgive me if this was obvious; I'm an XBox newb and I just discovered this on my own. I haven't 100% vetted this out, but so far it seems true: You can select which pitcher you play against in a Team Affinity matchup (and possibly Play vs. CPU; I don't play that mode much).
I have an all NL East Team Affinity team. I needed 8 strikeouts with Warren Spahn, who was my highest rated starter on said NL East team. I kept getting frustrated after having to face tough pitching while struggling with Spahn (I hate these old-timey long windup pitchers).
Eventually I earned a higher OVR NL East starter and slotted him in, and noticed I wasn't facing the opposing team's top pitcher anymore when selecting Spahn.
Your pitching rotation is automatically sorted 1-5 based on overall. So unless you absolutely need to play with your highest overall starting pitcher, you can do this. Simply make sure your desired starting pitcher is 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th in the rotation based on overall -- adjust as necessary (some team's #2 or #3 starters can be annoying too). Even if your TA build is all players from one team/division, you can fill in the top rotation slots with whoever you need to make this work -- you won't be using them anyway. From what I can tell, if you select your #1 starter, you automatically play against the other team's #1 starter. #2 plays against #2, #3 vs #3, etc. As a result, I've found myself playing DeGrom or Ohtani and dreading it, losing my matchups and loading it up again to play the same pitcher again. However, this trick lets you make sure you don't need to play against those problem pitchers.
This may be especially helpful if it works in Play vs. CPU -- I'll test tonight.
