Hey guys! There's been a lot of discussion and many posts made about the fan project "AoT no Requiem" which seeks to create a reimagined ending for the AoT story (taking place after the original Chapter 136). Due to the influx of posts and popular demand for a dedicated thread to contain key news, updates, and general information about the project, this thread has been made to server that purpose. Though there are mixed feelings on the ending, please try not to get into arguments about it. This is a popular passion project made by fans. Do not attack or harass others for different opinions.

Everything related to the new chapter for the next 24 hours after this thread goes up will be contained in this thread. Anything outside this thread regarding AoTNoRequiem within this time frame (one day) will be removed and placed here.

Happy Saturday Folks! We are so excited to be releasing part one TONIGHT, 7 pm PST. AOTNR has worked tirelessly on this project and are beyond excited to share this with you - but we have a very important request.
It has come to our knowledge that some of our followers want to spam Isayama/Kawakubo/Kodansha in order to express their frustration with the canon ending. This is essentially harassment. We request you IMMENSELY to NOT do this please.
We, like many of you, have been fans of this manga since its inception and were extremely dismayed with how it was concluded. We chose to be productive with our frustration and thus set out to make an ending that we wanted to see โ but we are well aware that this is our fanmade ending and will never replace canon.
That is the beauty of fanfiction, you can take a wonderful plot and explore it in ways you want it to be. So we humbly request you to take part in the joy of creativity and simply just read our manga, share with it friends and peers-- without spamming the original author. The canon ending will always remain no matter how upsetting it is to many fans. Harassing the author will not change what is canon but could potentially get our manga removed as well as cause extra issues for our team. Please do not let our hard work go to waste. Be cognizant of others, be respectful, and GET HYPED!

Mappa is an animation studio which was notorious for taking on multiple projects leading to multiple anime communities joking about how the workers would never see their family again, with Canipa effect, a popular yt channel making a video on how they are on track to become the next madhouse, an animation giant which collapsed due to overworking their animators.
Ironically it was a madhouse cofounder who founded Mappa, who then left and made another studio called M2 dissapointed in the direction Mappa was going.
About AOT, S4 was a rushjob by anime standards with the production comittee giving the studios only 8 months or so to animate the entire series after WIT the original studio for AOT rejected it because of the time constraints.
Mappa was the only one who stepped up and took the project. What was put out was the subject of heavy debate, with many dissapointed over the use of CGI among other complaints.
Things hit the fan when the director of ep5 of s4 was harrassed due to them not playing a certain soundtrack during a key moment, which birthed or at the least popularised the twitter handle #ThankyouMappa. This was picked up and used for the anime Jujutsu Kaisen by its fans as a thank you for adapting Jujutsu Kaisen which was running along side AOT
This article on how a key animator for AOT left due to the horrid conditions sparked back these debates in this thread sorted by controversial
this is why it pisses me off when people defend mappa specially when it comes to attack on titan
the fourth season was absolute garbage and instead of complaining so the fuckers listen and change their practices people just say its "haters"

It was a very well done animation series, that despite the clear lack of time, maintened a very strong sense of continuity, directoring, storyboarding and even animation, despite the odds.
