Stage Breakdown
_ _ . A pankake flat stage to start the second week. We start in the Island of Oléron in the département of Charente-Maritime, a département which has really rarely hosted the Tour de France in the past 20 years, to end in the island of Ré (where yours truly was traumatized by a beach full of jellyfish during a family vacation when I was 4). Hard to say more about this stage really, the wind will mostly an headwind, making the echelons that everyone dreamed about since this stage has been announced pretty hard to put in place.
Well at the very least it's a really pretty part of France.
With that in mind here are our predictions:

Stage and rider discussion
Echelons can happen in two places, really early in the stage (not unheard of, remember Quintana pulling it off in the last Vuelta) and on the bridge to L'Île de Ré. Apart from that it will likely be a sprint, so enjoy your day at work or in front of the TV, with some food and drinks, if the wind isn't with us tomorrow, you dropping a snack on the floor will prolly be the biggest action you will see all day.
