Shi Ba Zi Zuo Cleaver Patina?

So after reading a ton of stuff on here, and wanting to get a nice Chinese cleaver, I went ahead and ordered this:

Now I'm not a pro chef by any means, but I use knives a lot, and don't mind paying decent money ($100~ or so) for a good knife. I'm absolutely in love with the knife itself. It holds an edge really well, and the weight makes cutting super easy.

However I'm also a total whore for aesthetics, and while I like this one a bit, I've seen a ton of videos of people forcing patinas on kitchen knives. I've searched high and low, but cannot for the life of me find a proper answer on how I can force a patina on the steel that they use for this. All the guides I saw recommended the same thing (hot instant coffee) to etch patterns on the knives, but this seems to be geared more towards high carbon blades, which I don't believe this is. Soaking in instant coffee for two hours did nothing to it. I'd like a sort of "damascus" look to it, but it doesn't need to exactly be like that.

Is it possible for me to get a patina on there like that?

Is Zuo Yun worth?

I got him in the shop, but i already have lvl 6 chung ah, lvl 8 mel, lvl 6 jol, lvl 6 ren, and a lvl 5 ren, so I think I already have enough frontline dps. Is he still worth it or should I look for other heroes?

A coworker gave me a perfectly good dehumidifier, and wouldn't take money for it. I showed him. He's of Asian descent, and had spoken before about seeing jack-of-all trade cleavers in his childhood, and having failed to find one IRL/H-Mart. I recently saw a post about the various Chinese cleavers, and one was described as having the back 1/3 ground for chopping small bones up to spare ribs, and a front 2/3 suitable for slicing. I hunted, and found a couple SBZZ models on Amazon that used exactly that description. I ended up buying one, plus a Fibrox 8" chef and 4" boning, since I was skeptical of the all-in-one claim, plus a Shapton Pro 1k, for obvious reasons, plus a complement of blade covers, for different, but equally obvious reasons.

SBZZ on Amazon was helpful, given an apparent language barrier; I asked how the dual use was affected, they replied (as far as I can tell) the grind was different, the edge was sharpened to the same angle throughout. Elsewhere, I read that differential heat treatment could be used. In any event, it was a $30 gamble I was willing to take.

Upon arrival, it was clear this was a chonky boi. It's heft alone would disqualify it as a slicer, but its handle (described as integral, but probably welded) felt secure and delightfully comfortable. I couldn't detect a significant difference in the grind of the ends, but while putting a hair shaving edge on it, the sound on the stones was noticeably different, shifting right around the 1/3 point, so there might be something to it. Either way, I'd relegate it to light chopping, or possibly fighting small orcs, and use something else for most kitchen work.

I took some pictures in a hurry, so I could get it off to him, they... suck. I included the notably not slender Henckles Pro as a basis of comparison, this thing has some booty to it for sure.

I didn't cut anything. He, however, is pretty pleased, and intends to use it as a slicer, and dedicate one of the heavier cleavers he bought previously for smashing. I'm waiting to see how much he experiments with the Victorinox Twins, and what effect that has on his strategy.

This is why I believe to much about ZUORA inc By the time we reach 2023, more than half of companies will have moved to a subscription-based model for their software products, a new report from Revenera claims.

The US IT company recently polled 374 decision-makers to learn about their software monetization models and strategies and found that, while the subscription model is on course to conquer the world, a one-size-fits-all approach wonโ€™t suffice.

Today, more than half (51 percent) of businesses use either subscription (36 percent) or perpetual licensing (24 percent). In the next 18 months, subscription and usage-based models will record the strongest growth, the report says.

In the past two years, the main reason companies changed their software monetization model was to create a recurring revenue stream. Those that currently plan to change their models are driven by the promise of entering new markets, the report further states. By creating a subscription-based model, companies are able to offer a try-before-you-buy feature, and further improve their automated enforcement programs. In some cases, they will be able to add new pricing meters, as well.

However, they will need to be extra careful when deciding the price of a subscription. Right now, less than a third (30 percent) of respondents see pricing and value as โ€œtotally alignedโ€. The respondents seem to value models that track usage and engagement most, as these are generally perceived as better aligned.

Among organizations that are good at harvesting usage data, almost two-thirds (61 percent) feel the pricing is properly aligned with value. link
