This is pretty big news. What does /r/guitar think?

I thought this would be a simple research project but it's kicking my hoop. Does anyone know where information on Yamaha is? (From any edition)

Looking for info on the Corporation itself, not its products, is it an independent AA or a subsidiary of another Japanacorp?

So I am looking into getting a board primarily for corporate work but I also need it to be rider friendly because corporate events tend to have bigger name acts associated with them from time to time.

Here's where I am at.

The CL5 has a lot of obvious advantages for corporate work: -Has built in auto-mixing -Has native dante -Is fairly ubiquitous.

But I honestly just haven't been too big of a fan of the board in my experiences with it. It just feels a bit dated and a touch clunky for my tastes (but I've also never spent an intensive amount of time on a CL5).

On the flip side...I think the DLive has an awesome interface, feels very intuitive to navigate and has plenty of sound quality. But it lacks some of the hard pros of the CL5 and might not be as rider friendly.

I personally think the DLive is a bit of a newer just better designed mixer through and through and I am excited to see it grow over the years. At the same time the CL5 probably has more objective "pros" to it...but I also fear that it is getting closer to the end of its life cycle.

Any thoughts?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

To use the lingo of the youth, I don’t think the Blue Revs understood the assignment. The Blue Revs, formerly known as Yamaha Jublio, have assembled a roster that is… something. The domestic talent isn’t much to write home about. Most of the foreign talent is lacking. Isi Naisarani and Kwagga Smith are good at least. Unfortunately for the Blue Revs, rugby remains very much a team sport and this team isn’t going anywhere.

Which is kinda a shame, because the Blue Revs are clearly trying off the field. They rebranded to a strange new team name and logo. They are establishing deep roots in the Shizuoka region. Their parent company also owns their home stadium, which is helpful. All that isn’t going to mean much though if the Blue Revs get blown out every other game. I could be wrong here. I have been before. But so far, I have yet to see a shred of evidence that this team is going to be any better than 11th. Worse, I don’t think management was really trying to improve the team this offseason. It seems to be pretty much the same old roster of last year, plus Isi Naisarani. Worse still, I don’t see many promising signs for the future. It’s one thing to be bad and young. At least there’s promise of growth. But to be bad and old is just bleak. Hopefully I’m wrong, or that management sees their errors and invests in the team next year.

Last season

It wasn’t necessarily a bad year for the team formerly known as Yamaha Jublio, but it wasn't a good one either. They beat the bottom two teams, went 1-1 against fellow middle class teams the Black Rams and the Red Hurricanes, and were fairly easily beaten by everyone else.

They ended their season by losing 46-12 to the Spears in the first round of the playoffs. It wasn’t a particularly close or competitive game.

Rate Their Stadium Situation: 8/10(???)

Theoretically, the Blue Revs should have an excellent stadium situation. They’ll play their first two games in Yamaha Stadium, a nice enough stadium that seats 15,000. I say theoretically because the team has yet to confirm the location of the other 6 home games besides saying they will be in Shizuoka prefecture. This would be concerning for other teams in similar situations as Yamaha Stadium also hosts Júbilo Iwata, a soccer team that will play in the J1 league next year. But I’m fairly confident that the team will use Yamaha Stadium more than twice this season. The corporation of Yamaha owns the Blue Revs, Jublio Iwata and Yamaha Stadium. They’ll work it

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
