Xul Puns

Where: The East side of Lake Tahoe from the Mt. Rose Highway looping around Marlette and Hobart Lakes.

When: May 10th and 11th, 2021.

Distance: 36 miles. +4256 / -4256 vertical feet.

Conditions: Highs in the low 60s, overnight low of 27F. Clear skies.

• +My custom made sub 6oz Dandee Pack was very comfortable during this hike! It was my first time using it, so you'll have to wait a bit longer for a full review, but so far I'm in love. It's made from 1.43 DCF and the small extension collar is 0.51 DCF. It's actually kinda nice to see the contents of the pack from the outside, I don't have to search for anything! It's probably because I ordered it with a shorter torso length, but I can't really reach my water bottle pockets. I kept my snacks in one side pocket and my 591ml smartwater + Platypus QuickDraw in the other. My shoulder strap pockets held my cellphone in one and water pouch in the other. The stitching and build quality are very good. It has a minimal bungee sternum strap and has the option to attach a CCF pad to the front of the pack via bungee cords. Dandee Packs ( u/gigabitty ) makes amazing custom packs and was great to work with.
• +First out of my Dandee Pack is the 25.8 gram Aliexpress sitpad that I bought for $1.41. It was the real MVP of this trip!
• +So far the Platypus Quickdraw water filter has been working great. It has a higher flow rate than my Sawyer Squeeze, but it's still to early to tell if the Quickdraw will last as long. I like that it has a flip cap on the clean side. I should have brought the dirty side cap along because of the overnight freeze, but I just put it into a ziplock from my foodbag so that I could keep it in my quilt overnight.
• +Next out was my first aid kit. I also keep my Nitecore Tube flashlight in there, which was perfect for this trip. There was no moon, so if I was

I love me some Xul. Occasionally I’ll do a writeup on him, because he’s a fascinating and interesting character, that seems completely mysterious and inscrutable to people. Full warning; this will be extremely long, and thorough. Full disclosure; I love Xul because I played necromancer in D2 for five years. It is my childhood. I am a level 65 Xul, Gold 5, 56% Winrate. These are just my opinions. I am not a financial advisor.

TL;DR - If you see a Xul picking Q, he wants to enable poke damage and disengage. If you see him picking W, he wants to clear the map, and hard engage with swishes. If you see him picking E, he wants to ambush and is praying to God you follow up his roots.

Xul suffered badly from the removal of the specialist role. He was the very last hero to be put into that slot, and almost immediately got removed from there and put into the “bruiser” category. This, in my view, has been the source of most of people’s misunderstandings about what Xul is, and what he’s supposed to do. It puts him in the same category as Sonya, or Artanis; he’s obviously not supposed to be there. He doesn’t go toe to toe with other bruisers, because he’s not supposed to go toe to toe with other bruisers.

To add to Xul’s general confusion, he has this kind of Varian-esque talent spread, which lets him completely change the way he interacts with the game, depending on what’s being picked. Xul can change from being a terrifying aoe front line, to a straight mage, to a ganking machine. Because Xul offers such wildly different ways to interact with the game, this means that the player will often be at odds with his teammates, all of whom have different ideas of how Xul should be played.

What is consistent with Xul is that you should expect Xul to double soak. This often means, as a Xul, you’ll be pitted up against other bruisers. Don’t worry about it. Xul isn’t there to fight Sonya. Xul’s there to kill minions. Once you adjust this in your mind, Xul’s gameplay opens up to you. Don’t try to face fuck Sonya while she drops bombs on you. Safely Q from a distance, clear the lane, disengage, go to the next lane. Occasionally, you can run into the minion wave to clear it with your W while Sonya’s there, and you use your shield to deflect damage until the wave is gone and you disengage and leave. If this sounds lame to you, then you don’t want to play Xul.

Xul has some of the best waveclear in the game. Very few characters can keep up with him. Even an untalented W

Sonya and Malthael are the only ones that can even attempt to keep up it feels like.

I rarely see him picked and wonder why.

Is he draft dependend and can be easily countered during draft?

Hey Fam! Even though it is still winter here in Minnesota I've been inspired to reevaluate my XUL gear list for this upcoming year. I've been dabbling in XUL for the past year. I find the idea of carrying such a light load fascinating. I'm curious if y'all have considered or used such light setups. If you have one please share your XUL gear list so we all can nerd out!

I'm open to all suggestions that could lighten my load.

Note: Up to this point I have not been able to sleep on a foam mat on trail thus the inflatable. However, I'm open to all suggestions.

I was playing ranaros and had 50 spell armor from W talen on level 4 and xul gave me damage of half my hp. Both lvl 23. I never understood interaction between armor and poison efects.

Hello.

I am experiencing crashes of Waterfox xul.dll .

It seems random.

Sometimes it just says "this tab has crashed".

I uninstalled Waterfox then reinstalled it, but the problem still happens.

According to the values, can you tell me if it is related to hardware or something ?

The only change I have done on the computer these last days is updating the motherboard's bios.
