Welcome to the inaugural Delightful Whimsy awards! It’s award season so I’m having my own too. Here I’ll be bestowing meaningless accolades on artists whose wardrobe has taken my fancy.
Background to the D.W.A’s - There’s no special order to these, and no one artist or award is more important than another. Everyone is friends here, and they are all delighted to see each other win. Of course, I have missed oodles of clips, MVs, songs and comebacks so these are just what I have noticed. I’m not comparing or ignoring any artists, I’m appreciating the fine work of some I like. With that said, get your popcorn and let’s go!
The Most Ripped Jeans in ENHYPEN Award There was a lot of competition in this category. I’ve been impressed with ENHYPEN’s styling this year however their stylists had a desire to use ripped jeans as the default for so many of their stages. Some time back I watched a clip where one on the ENHYPEN members even admitted that their stylist cut their jeans, but I can’t find it. I’d love to see it again if you have the link.
Nominees: Fever – Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Drunk – Dazed – Stage 1, Stage 2 – Heeseung’s jeans came close to winning with their If I Were Shorts, What Length Would Look Best theme but ultimately, they lacked holes. Mixed Up – Heeseung’s jeans have been distressed with care and symmetry, I imagine these were bought this way because they are unlike some of the other hack jobs we’ve seen.
Winner: Go Big Or Go Home stage – Jay’s jeans ….I don’t think Go Big or Go Home was meant to apply to the size of the holes in these pants. I have so many questions about this styling. How did they decide where to cut, and what size holes? What scissors are they using? Did they excessively cut these then realise they’d gone too far so they had to be worn with track pants? Were track pants the original choice but they looked too colourful so they added the jeans as an accessory? Or was this combo the intention from the start?

I feel like this is another “symptom” of our Peter Pan syndrome,it was something I really bonded over with my ex,also infp.We were grown ups who still wanted to build forts and loved everything cute and child like.Also I notice a lot of popular children’s authors and illustrators share our type.
